Remote Software Engineer Android
\nJob Overview:\n\n\nWe are looking for a skilled and passionate Android Developer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining our Android application, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and a seamless user experience.\n\n\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n* Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin/Java.\n* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.\n* Work with external data sources and APIs (REST/JSON).\n* Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.\n* Identify and fix bugs, and continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.\n* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.\n* Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.\n* Manage app releases and updates to Google Play Store.\n* Maintain documentation of code, development processes, and application updates.\n\n\n\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\n* 3–5 years of professional Android app development experience.\n* Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.\n* Deep understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.\n* Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.\n* Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications (e.g., Firebase).\n* Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.\n* Experience with third-party libraries, APIs, and integration.\n* Good understanding of MVVM architecture, Android Jetpack components (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, etc.).\n* Solid understanding of Git for version control.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n* Experience working in Agile/Scrum development processes.\n* Exposure to CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.\n* Familiarity with tools like Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt, Coroutines, and Jetpack Compose.\n* Knowledge of publishing apps on the Play Store.\n* Basic understanding of unit testing and UI testing.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOntic Benefits & Perks: \n\n\nCompetitive Salary\nMedical Benefits\nInternet Reimbursement\nHome Office Stipend\nContinued Education Stipend\nFestive & Achievement Celebrations\nDynamic Office Environment\n\n\nOntic is an equal opportunity employer.
