\nThe Role\n\nAs a Staff Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions supporting all of Magic’s products. You will also help expand Magic’s platform to meet global demand while maintaining resiliency and uptime. You will work with engineering teams to develop cloud native solutions that scale globally. Your extensive experience and technical expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our innovative product.\n\nThis position is based in either our New York City (NYC) office or remote within Canada.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n\n* You will manage and expand our container orchestration platforms to support our customer platform in Kubernetes (EKS), ECS and Lambda.\n\n* Design and build CI/CD pipelines with a promotion based model (GitHub Actions).\n\n* Leverage your experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as CDK, Terraform, and Pulumi to manage infrastructure with CI/CD. \n\n* Architect and design with teams across the org to build robust and scalable API solutions in AWS that meet both current and future needs.\n\n* Own the architecture and development of system components to improve monitoring, alerting and stability with compliance and security in mind (Datadog and Pagerduty).\n\n* Utilize your expert knowledge of WAF and Zero-Trust solutions including AWS WAF and Cloudflare to keep our products safe and secure.\n\n* Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain robust security measures, including vulnerability assessments and risk management.\n\n* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DevOps team members, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.\n\n* Leverage performance and load test tooling to identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize backend services for efficiency and speed.\n\n* Participate in on-call rotation and incident response to ensure 24/7 system availability.\n\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n\n* 8+ years of Cloud Engineering experience (DevOps/SRE) designing production systems in public cloud environments (AWS [preferred], GCP, or Azure). \n\n* Excellent Incident Management skills to navigate and lead incidents adeptly to ensure platform uptime.\n\n* Strong experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, and TypeScript.\n\n* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points:\n\n\n* AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or related certifications.\n\n* Experience managing Web3/Crypto infrastructure.\n\n* Previous experience in a startup environment.\n\n* Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.\n\n\n\n\nBenefits:\n\n\n* Fully remote team and flexible working hours\n\n* Competitive salary and stock options\n\n* Unlimited paid time off\n\n* Health, Vision, and Dental insurance\n\n* 401(k) program\n\n* Top of the line equipment\n\n* $300 monthly budget for home office needs and professional development\n\n* Annual team meetups\n\n\n\n\nSalary Range: \n\n\n* Canada: $200K-$250K CAD\n\n* New York City: $200K-$250K USD\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, DevOps, Cloud, API, Junior, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $100,000/year\n
