At Brightwheel, product engineers work closely with product and design and other business areas to deliver a platform that meets our teachersโ and parentsโ biggest needs.\n\n\nEvery engineer at Brightwheel is afforded a high degree of ownership and autonomy. Youโll bring a high degree of ownership and ability to execute.\n\n\n\nWhat you'll do\n* Work alongside product and design to scope and implement new features or product lines\n* Share input on delivery and discoveryโproviding the team with new ideas, proposals, and constructive criticism\n* Be a steward of quality, scalability, security, and performance. You'll work with other engineers to ensure that we have a solid foundation that serves our customers and enables the team to continue building a great product\n* Design and architect new software systems, or introduce new technologies as appropriate, to support Brightwheelโs growth\n* Share knowledge and expertise across the engineering team\n\n\n\nQualifications, Skills, & Abilities: \n* 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in dynamic companies/teams\n* Proficiency in both contributing to and designing APIs using Ruby on Rails \n* Expertise in writing automated tests (unit/integration/functional)\n* Expertise in using Git (or VC equivalent)\n* Experience with a variety of codebase sizes and age\n* Experience with microservice or service-oriented architectures\n* Experience with modern webapps like React.js preferred\n* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) preferred\n\n\nCandidates with varying backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
