What youโll do\n\nBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:\n\n\n* Lead mastering process of color/gloss/grain and haptic matching for interior and exterior materials and manage program timelines to ensure standards are on track for production.\n\n* Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams to source and develop new materials that meet our quality standards and design requirements.\n\n* Collaborate closely with suppliers and key cross-functional partners, to procure on-time production feasible materials that meet design intent against aggressive program timelines.\n\n* Work with Materials Engineering as they conduct material tests and assessments to ensure compliance with industry regulations and performance expectations.\n\n* Follow Program Information from a CMF perspective. Working cross-functionally to ensure program information is tracked and released correctly.\n\n* Create and Manage CMF material library for all finishes, colors, and materials that are developed and will be mastered\n\n* Communicate master status to Design Leadership and escalate high risk items.\n\n* Holds high standards for quality, attention to detail and builds strong relationships with other team members while enjoying a dynamic work environment. \n\n* Participate in design reviews, presentations, and meetings, effectively communicating CMF mastering design.\n\n\n\n\nLocation & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based at our office in Novi, MI. Hereโs what else youโll bring:\n\n\n* Bachelorโs degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience and exceptional ability in Design Quality, Color and Materials, Product Development, or Design Development also acceptable.\n\n* 8+ years of experience in CMF design in the automotive or transportation industry.\n\n* Strong knowledge of color theory, material science, and manufacturing processes related to automotive applications.\n\n* Working knowledge of design software and tools inclusive of Autodesk all Adobe CS programs. Expertise in all Microsoft Office programs.\n\n* Understanding of sustainability principles and experience in incorporating sustainable materials into design concepts.\n\n* Strong visual communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.\n\n* Detail-oriented with a keen eye for color, texture, and material finishes.\n\n* Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.\n\n* Basic understanding of CMF development timing and color matching/mastering process\n\n* Candidate must have a passion for sustainability and innovative materials.\n\n* Very high color acuity - Successfully passed the Munsell Hue Test.\n\n* Highly motivated with exceptional communication and organizational skills are a must - Excellent at creating and maintaining both external suppliers and internal cross-functional working relationships. \n\n\n\n\nWhat youโll gain\n\nThe benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up.
