Visit www.cdcfoundation.org for more information. \n\n\nPosition Highlights:\n\n\nPosition Title: Public Health Epidemiologist\nLocation: Remote\nPosition End Date: 2/28/2025\nSalary: $79,000.00\n\n\n\n\nOverview:\n\n\nThe CDC Foundation seeks a Public Health Epidemiologist who will work with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in the HIV Medication Assistance Program (HMAP). HMAP is a life-saving insurance assistance program for people living with HIV so those who are eligible can access care and medication and achieve HIV viral suppression.\n\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n\nยท Working knowledge of epidemiologic principles, investigations, surveillance, study design, descriptive statistics, statistical analysis and interpretation of statistical data and scientific literature.\nยท Considerable knowledge of biostatistics including the use of statistical software and statistical programming languages.\nยท Considerable knowledge of computers, database design, management and manipulation.\nยท Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.\nยท Master's degree in Epidemiology or closely related health field from an appropriately accredited institution.\nยท Two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n\n\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\nยท Employees' work may have a significant impact on public health as they plan, develop and conduct investigations into the causes of negative health outcomes including disease and injury.\nยท Employee will implement interventions to control and prevent negative health outcomes.\nยท Employee will collect, analyze and interpret statistical data and prepare epidemiologic reports.\nยท Employee will provide epidemiological data for consultation and assist in the development and coordination of plans to reduce the risk of negative health outcomes including death.\nยท Work includes assisting county health departments in formulating strategies to manage problems, conducting varied literature reviews and implementing evidence-based interventions.\nยท Employees may specialize in a number of areas including infectious disease, chronic disease, injury, environmental/occupational epidemiology, health care evaluation, cancer, reproductive health, cardiovascular disease, or human genetics.\nยท Employees may develop policies and procedures for new and existing disease control or other public health prevention programs on a limited basis or scope.\nยท Work in this class involves training, technical assistance and consultation regarding epidemiology and control of diseases or other health outcomes.\nยท Employee will serve as a technical expert in the assigned area.\nยท Work may include trend analysis and independent statistical and epidemiological analysis.\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Notes:\n\n\nThis role is involved in a dynamic public health program.
