The team consists of experienced professionals who, through their finance and accounting expertise, support Super.comโs short and long-term objectives. \n\n\nAbout this role\n\n\nReporting to the Corporate Controller, the Manager, Accounting Policy and Reporting will be a hands-on leader, helping to tell the story of Super.comโs financial results to internal and external stakeholders by providing technical accounting guidance on business initiatives, product and feature launches, and ensuring timely delivery of consolidated financial statements and note disclosures. The ideal candidate will be the first dedicated hire in accounting policy with a unique opportunity to build new processes, and be exposed to interesting and challenging accounting issues in a fast-growing fintech and travel company. As a subject matter expert, the ideal candidate will have exposure to senior executives and will build business acumen.\n\n\n\nChallenges You'll Solve\n* Develop and maintain Super.comโs corporate accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP\n* Prepare technical accounting memos for complex transactions, including revenue recognition and financing receivables\n* Provide guidance to internal stakeholders including Growth and Corporate Development teams by reviewing any new and proposed business initiatives, product and feature launches, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP for all reporting\n* Prepare consolidated financial statements with accompanying note disclosures\n* Liaise with the external auditors on accounting and financial reporting policy issues, as required, to ensure successful financial statement audits\n* Stay abreast of industry developments, applicable new and emerging accounting standards and best practices in technical accounting\n* Assist with investor reporting deliverables, implementation of financial reporting software, and ad-hoc special financial reporting projects\n* Support month-end close activities by reviewing areas of the financial statements that involve significant accounting estimates and judgements\n\n\n\nAbout You\n* Chartered Professional Accountant designation\n* Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a financial reporting, technical accounting or accounting policy-related position\n* Public accounting experience is required\n* Strong technical background in U.S. GAAP\n* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to partner with various functions, and communicate technical accounting issues effectively\n* Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills\n* Proficiency in Excel to create reports, models and automate processes\n* Experience with ERP systems like Netsuite, and BI tools like Looker\n\n\n\nBonus Points\n* Experience in financial services or financial technology industry is a plus\n* Accounting advisory/technical accounting experience in a public company or in public accounting is desirable\n* Experience with financial reporting systems like Workiva\n\n\n\nWe've got you covered!\n* We are a Remote-first company, we offer flexible working hours with complete work-from-home freedom and a guilt-free unlimited vacation policy\n* Enjoy employee rewards, and travel discounts using SnapTravel\n* Competitive salaries, equity options, full benefits from day one, wellness budgets, and paid development - weโve got you covered!\n* UberEats credits, meal budgets, special treats, and team lunches.
