Remote Engineering Manager Devops and IT

As a DevOps Manager at Plotly, you will play a critical role in overseeing our infrastructure, security practices and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our cloud-based systems. This role requires a strong background in SOC2 compliance, cloud cost management, Kubernetes cluster management, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, customer support, and IT security.\nCore job responsibilities:\n\n\n* Manage and maintain SOC 2 Type 2 compliance standards within our infrastructure.\n\n* Implement and optimize cloud cost management strategies.\n\n* Oversee and automate cloud organization management and provisioning.\n\n* Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters, including provisioning and enterprise product experience.\n\n* Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.\n\n* Implement and manage monitoring tools such as Grafana for system performance monitoring.\n\n* Provide Tier 2 customer and internal support for infrastructure-related issues.\n\n* Conduct troubleshooting for product and environment-related issues.\n\n* Ensure cloud and IT security protocols are in place and up to date.\n\n* Manage vendor relationships and software costs effectively.\n\n* Oversee organization-wide IT services including onboarding, offboarding, and certificate management.\n\n* Participate in technical design and code reviews.\n\n* Own technical roadmap for business priorities and individual team members.\n\n* Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization.\n\n* Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional growth opportunities for team members.\n\n* Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals.\n\n* Provide strategic guidance and leadership in evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity, scalability, and performance.\n\n* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our platform.\n\n\n\nJob requirements:\n\n\n* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.\n\n* 7+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role with 3+ years of experience in managing Devops team.\n\n* Strong background in SOC 2 Type 2 compliance and cloud security.\n\n* Experience with all three clouds: GCP, AWS and Azure.\n\n* Proficiency in cloud cost management and optimization.\n\n* Experience with Kubernetes cluster management and enterprise products.\n\n* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Github actions).\n\n* Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus.\n\n* Excellent troubleshooting skills for product and environment issues.\n\n* Experience in managing cloud and IT security protocols.\n\n* Ability to effectively manage vendor relationships and software costs.\n\n* Strong organizational and communication skills.\n\n* Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus.\n\n* Demonstrable track record of troubleshooting hard problems with tricky technical or organizational constraints in a product-centric environment.\n\n* Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a Remote-first environment. Availability to support team members in EST and PST time zones.\n\n* Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and learn new technologies and platforms.\n\n* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\n\n* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.\n\n\n\n\nDonโt meet all the requirements, but you feel you would be a great fit to our plot-legion?
