Over a million designers use Sketch to transform their ideas into incredible products, every day. Would you like to join us and help take the infrastructure that supports this leading design tool to the next level? We're looking to expand our team with a full-time **Site Reliability Engineer**.\n\nAt Sketch, we work with a unique technology blend: a cloud platform and macOS and iOS applications. Our cloud stack is based on a mix of serverless and traditional server applications built on Elixir and Go, along with other cloud services like RDS PostgreSQL, S3, SQS, ... Most pieces are deployed on AWS ECS and automated through Terraform; we use Chef for configuration management where it's needed. Our SRE team usually codes with Python whenever we need to write a small program or script.\n\nAs a Site Reliability Engineer at Sketch, you will focus on shaping our cloud infrastructure and make sure all the pieces work well together: development environments, metrics processing and observability, security policies, network design, deployment strategies, high availability, etc. You will work closely with backend, frontend, Mac developers and product managers to guarantee product focussed, smooth engineering processes.\n\nAs an example of one complex project we have worked on lately, we recently migrated our production database from MariaDB to PostgreSQL using streaming replication to minimise the potential downtime and have replicated environments to adapt and test our backend APIs properly.\n\n**About you**\n\nWe look for someone who has experience with different stacks (mainly Linux based), technologies and production models and has participated actively on the build of essential pieces of a cloud platform.\n\nSomeone that knows how to conduct a technical operation that potentially affects users and at the same time can code small applications and scripts to automate the platform and also debug problems in other people's code.\n\nYou care about security, code quality, scalability, performance, and simplicity. Above all, you seek operational excellence and apply the best engineering practices possible. Not everything that you or your team do can be perfect, but you make sure that you always know the trade-offs. You back your decisions with arguments. You don't care for hype and always try to find the best solution and technology for the job and its context.\n\n**Essentials**\n\n* Professional experience managing Linux-based and cloud-native distributed systems in the past\n* Experience coding with high-level programming languages like Python\n* Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, and configuration management tools to automate manual operations\n* A good understanding of the HTTP protocol and the behavior of production web services\n* Excellent communication skills and a good written and spoken English\n* You're based in European / African timezones.\n\n**About Sketch**\n\nSketch is a 100% remote company, and your colleagues are distributed around the globe. Being remote adds great flexibility, and helps us build a more diverse team. We put respect for each other above everything else.\n\nBesides being remote we work asynchronously as often as we can. This means that our team communicates mostly using Slack and GitHub. When we need it, we also have video calls.\n\nOur Technology team has more than 60 people today, split between Mac, Backend, Frontend, Infrastructure and QA. In particular, the Infrastructure team has 6 members. We work in multidisciplinary squads: people from different roles, including members of the Product team, work together on solving problems and delivering functionality to our users.\n\n**We care about your well-being and your professional success, so we offer you**\n\n* Flexibility to organize your own time, no set hours\n* As many vacation days as you need\n* Whatever training you need to develop in your job\n* The laptop you need\n* The option to work anywhere in European/African timezones\n* Company equity\n* Paid family leave \n* An annual company meetup \n\nBe sure to mention the words **UPDATE BANANA UNUSUAL** when applying to show you read the job post completely. Over a million people use Sketch to transform their ideas into incredible products. Would you like to join us and make an impact on a leading brand in the design space? We're looking to expand our team with a full-time Senior Brand Copywriter.\n\nWhat you'll do\nReporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you’ll be instrumental in bringing our brand to life through words — whether that’s on our website, through advertising (ATL and BTL), or through our work supporting the wider design community. You’ll help to distill what makes Sketch special and what sets us apart. Your writing will set the tone for how we talk about ourselves as a brand and make meaningful connections with others.\nOn a typical day, you could:\nCollaborate with our designers and developers to bring new pages of our website to life and refresh old ones, making sure that copy works as hard as it can in every case.\nWrite copy for digital advertising campaigns, films, partnership marketing, and other comms channels to help us communicate a specific message or idea about Sketch.\nLead on messaging for brand campaigns, and work closely with the design team to develop the creative wrap.\nWork to define and build our brand narrative, taking into account the truths behind our product and our company’s history, then making sure we apply it consistently across our internal and external communications.\nMaintain, adapt and improve our brand voice guidelines, making sure they’re useful and practical for every part of the business.\nWork closely with the CMO and Product Marketing Lead to come up with new creative campaigns that showcase our product and brand in a way that cuts through the noisy design tools market.\nDevelop brand initiatives working with our Head of PR and create correlating content.\nCollaborate with our Analytics team to understand and measure the effectiveness of our web content, and understand the performance of advertising campaigns — then using that insight to come up with suggestions to improve things.\nStrategize the brand roadmap defining our key milestones, and then executing against them.\nMentor and guide the work of the Junior Brand Copywriter.\nProofread copy from other team members, offer advice on best practices, and advocate for our tone of voice and style guidelines.\nSupport other members of the marketing team with their writing, where necessary.\n\nEven if you're not able to tick all of these boxes, we would still love to hear from you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior, Marketing, Engineer, Full Stack, Copywriting and Executive jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $110,000/year\n

Sketch is a design platform with an award-winning native Mac app and browser-based collaboration tools. Over a million people use our product to create their best work. And right now, we’re looking for a Backend Developer to join us.\n\nWe work with empowered product teams that truly own what they do — delivering new features and improving the technology foundations of our platform. As a backend developer at Sketch, your job will be mainly focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs on large-scale systems that impact people's day-to-day work. You will work closely with frontend, Mac developers, and product managers to guarantee a product-focused, smooth engineering process.\n\nThis position is for the Documents team. This team takes care of organizing the Sketch documents in the user's workspace. Related areas include sharing of documents between team members and people external to the team, versioning of the documents, and the documents' permissions model. Most of the tasks that fall into the responsibilities of this team require close collaboration between the developers, the Product Manager, and the designers of the team. Since the documents are a central topic for Sketch, the team needs to collaborate periodically with other teams in the company such as Cloud Core, Presentation, and Onboarding. Our backend developers need to understand how the product works in detail, as well as feel comfortable tackling complex technical tasks that include performance optimizations, data integrity problems, code readability and maintainability issues, and so on.\n\nAt Sketch most of our backend is built on Elixir with Phoenix, served over GraphQL and persisted on PostgreSQL. We build some supporting web services increasingly in Go (although this team barely has contact with our Go services). Sketch's backend services also utilize some additional AWS services such as SQS, Redis, etc..\n\nAbout you\n\nWe are especially interested in finding developers with experience either building web APIs with Elixir or strong experience with other functional programming languages (e.g. NodeJS, Clojure, F#). You might not have experience with all the technologies in our stack, but you are motivated to learn deeply. You will get the opportunity to work with experienced teammates who can teach and pair with you to learn whatever you have less experience with.\n\nYou care about security, code quality, scalability, performance, and simplicity. Above all, you seek operational excellence and apply the best engineering practices possible. Not everything that you or your team do can be perfect, but you make sure that you always know the trade-offs. You back your decisions with arguments. You don't care for hype and always try to find the best solution and technology for the job and its context.\n\nYou are a pragmatist and understand technology as the medium to build products. You understand the right balance between code readability, simplicity, development speed, performance, and maintainability.\n\nYou value team work, knowledge sharing, autonomy and ownership. You care are about your team, and contribute to an environment of psychological safety and healthy work culture.\n\nAbout Sketch\n\nWe’re a company of diverse thinkers and doers who take pride in always improving our product. We share a vision and commitment to help each other — and our customers — create great work.\n\nWe’ve been fully remote since day one. It’s meant we can bring together incredible people from around the world. You’ll join over 65 Mac, backend, frontend, QA and infrastructure engineers in the Technology team, based everywhere from Scotland to South Africa, and Lithuania to the US.\n\nWe encourage our people to be themselves and embrace what makes us unique. We value different backgrounds, perspectives and experience, and we strongly believe this is key to achieving outstanding results.\n\nWe work asynchronously as much as we can. Our team communicates mostly in writing, using Slack and GitHub. When we need it, we also have video calls. We have a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and we provide the environment and the tools you need to do your best work.\n\n\n\nEven if you're not able to tick all of these boxes, we would still love to hear from you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Ruby, Senior, Junior, Engineer, Backend, iOS, Developer and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n

Over a million designers use Sketch to transform their ideas into incredible products. Would you like to join us and help take this leading design tool to the next level? We're looking to expand our marketing team with a full-time Digital Designer.\n\nWhat you'll do\nYou'll be joining our digital marketing team where you'll get the opportunity to grow and shape a number of digital marketing experiences — from improving and expanding on our existing website, to new platforms that showcase the power of Sketch.\n\nYou’ll be both a thinker and a doer, full of great ideas about how we can create great digital experiences for our customers and the wider community. You’ll guide and work on design projects through their entire lifecycle — from ideation, discovery and planning, through to execution and delivery. Working with others, both inside and outside of the marketing team is a must — so collaboration will be something that comes naturally to you.\n\nNo two days are the same at Sketch, which means on a typical day you could be doing any of the following:\n- Taking ownership of design briefs from ideation through to completion — working on everything from wires and journeys, to designs, prototypes and final assets.\n- Mapping customer journeys through our website with the help of analytics, then making recommendations for improvement to our site and information architecture.\n- Developing concepts for new experiences and functionality on our website.\n- Working closely with our web team to reach the right outcomes and consensus on new and existing projects.\n- Sharing your work in a weekly design review session with the wider product design teams.\n- Working with the content team on new content initiatives.\n- Assisting other parts of the marketing team with their design needs where necessary — from assets for social media, to content that helps educate our customers.\n\nWhat we're looking for\nWe're looking for an experienced and talented digital designer who wants to work as part of a fast-paced, dynamic marketing team with big ambitions for the future of our work. Ideally, you'll display these core qualities:\n- You’re proactive and capable of thinking strategically about web properties at a holistic level, considering how each constituent part relates to and complements one another, as well as how the role the web experience plays in the broader customer experience beyond the website — for the product, customer support, social media, and communities.\n- You have a solid understanding of the principles, capabilities, and constraints of the web. You don’t need to know how to code, but you must be familiar with web as a design medium, and able to reflect this in the design concepts and solutions you create.\n- You understand that what you see in a browser is but one representation of a website. You understand the importance of how websites are displayed in platforms such as social media and search engines, and care about good metadata and URL design.\n- You respect and have interest in the role that writing and content plays in web experiences, and an understanding that design and content have a tight and co-dependent relationship.\n- You champion the importance of information architecture and how it can help lead to a frictionless customer experience. In addition, you'll know how to design for desktop, tablet and mobile.\n\nEven if you're not able to tick all of these boxes, we would still love to hear from you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Marketing, Customer Support and Executive jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $100,000/year\n
