To continue our growth we’re seeking a Senior Flutter Engineer located in London or Auckland. To excel in this role and have a positive impact on our customer success, you’ll need strong production experience with Flutter (preferably e-commerce), and a glowing track record building delightful mobile experiences. We have a separate backend team and Basket is already live in production, so your key focus will be scoping and building new features, and maintaining a kickass Flutter codebase for mobile. Some native work will be required in addition to Flutter, so experience with either Swift or Kotlin is essential.

How We Work at Basket

At Basket, we work in 2 week development cycles with a clearly defined goal. We’re inspired by companies like Linear where quality work is more important than quantity of features released. We plan each cycle well ahead of time with team discussions, research and workshops to make sure we’re making informed decisions.

Here’s how our typical cycle looks

• 2 weeks before a cycle we plan and define requirements for features

• 1 week before a cycle we do technical due diligence and write acceptance criteria

• During a cycle we write code using test-driven development, test code to development and staging environments, collaborate with QA, Design and PM team members to ensure features are production ready.

What You'll Do

• Scope and agree technical requirements for features in collaboration with design, QA and PM team members

About You

• Native English is essential

• 5+ years experience writing production code for iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin).

• Mastery of Flutter and Dart with at least one published app on iOS (App Store Connect) or Android (Play Store)

• Excellent knowledge and experience of using Firebase SDK with Flutter

• Experience integrating and using third-party packages with Flutter, iOS and Android

What is the job?

Looking for challenging responsibilities in the most promising tech industry? Join us as the first QA Automation Engineer (in this particular product team) in the crypto financial industry, and you will get the most out of using new technologies and test methods.

You will accelerate your career and constantly improve technically by tackling these issues and being able to utilize the personal £2000/year budget for learning & development.

You will challenge all user scenarios and test cases to investigate all possibilities of failure across a range of Web apps, and API applications. You will make sure that happy path scenarios function as advertised, and that a massive array of potential error conditions all fail gracefully, predictably and in a meaningful way to end users. 

During your first few months, you will start by defining the tools and frameworks required to have a complete suite of automated tests. This will involve diving into the applications features and functionality, rolling up your sleeves doing manual testing. With a better understanding under your belt, you will define test plans that can be  automated and cover UI and API testing, as well as testing failures in any of the subsystems, including databases, third-party services or other internal services.

What are we looking for?

• You enjoy automating everything, the thought of repeating tasks manually makes you shiver, but you understand the need to do exploratory manual testing to create test plans.

• You have experience testing Web apps, APIs applications in a fast delivering growth environment.

• You are a hands-on, independent product tester with experience working in a multidisciplinary team formed of designers, Front and Backend developers and DevOps.

• You’re patient when dealing with others. You’re a good listener, and happy to be a teacher when needed.

What skills do you need?

• You have solid demonstrable experience as a QA Automation Engineer doing end-to-end testing.

• You love breaking things and let your creativity go wild (e.g. functional and black-box testing, regression testing, system integration testing, load testing, manual testing).

• You are proficient in at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, C#, Java or JavaScript.

• Experience with BDD, TDD, or contract testing.

• Docker and Git experience is important.

• You have good knowledge and understanding of CI/CD cycles and integration test automation with CI/CD.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior QA Analyst at BuddyBoss, you will be working closely with our development teams to ensure the technical compatibility and viability for all our features and solutions before they are deployed. Our ideal candidate has strong technical skills, the ability to work on multiple features and enhancements simultaneously. Working in an Agile framework, the candidate will be responsible for validating the quality of our product to meet its optimum success criteria, user experience and seamless integration within our WordPress ecosystem. The successful candidate will be experienced in modern test methodologies and processes executed throughout the software development life cycle and this role will be fully accountable for developing and executing testing methodologies and test scripts within Jira / Atlassian platforms

With the support of QA Manager and Tech Leads, you will establish the project’s test strategy, define testing activities at each stage of the project, lead the testing team through manual and automation testing, establish a clear protocol for communication and monitoring, and be accountable to the robustness of the solution being built and delivered.

Your day will look like this:

• Create and manage testing strategy, estimates and test plans for delivery of multiple product features, enhancements and bugs 

• Review business requirements with the Product Owner and business users and clarify any ambiguity ensuring testing conditions are understood

• Develop and execute test cases within the agreed upon timelines ensuring the application is performing as expected

• Assess and escalate critical & high impact quality issues to the QA Manager and Tech Leads

• Review test deliverables, manage defects and document test results
