First Round Capital is hiring a
Remote Chief of Staff

\nFirst Round is a venture capital firm laser-focused on helping seed-stage companies win. We love meeting incredible entrepreneurs and rolling up our sleeves to help founders build their companies from day one. We have offices in San Francisco, New York, and Philadelphia with team members across the US. While this is a remote based role, weโ€™re only accepting applicants based in PT.\n\n\nWeโ€™re looking to add a Chief of Staff to our team who will work directly with Partner Todd Jackson as his trusted right hand. At First Round, individuals in this role supercharge our investment team by creating and managing processes that deliver world-class services and experiences to entrepreneurs. As a chief of staff, youโ€™ll primarily work behind the scenes to support Toddโ€™s work across sourcing, evaluating, and closing deals as well as supporting companies heโ€™s invested in. The success of this role is defined by the increase in productivity and leverage Todd is able to achieve โ€” if this challenge excites you, read on to learn more! \n\n\n\nAs a Chief of Staff, you will:\n* Manage and track new investment opportunities from initial review through final decision.\n* Manage relationships and communication within the First Round community and partner networks.\n* Conduct investment research/diligence and write investment memos.\n* Track and facilitate support of portfolio companies, and engage other teams within First Round to provide support to founders and their companies.\n* Help Todd manage and process his email correspondence.\n* Manage partner projects, brand/marketing initiatives, and events.\n* Ensure Todd is fully prepared with background and context prior to meetings and follow up on next steps after meetings.\n* Execute special projects (building internal products, research deep dives, etc.)\n\n\n\nThis position is not:\n* An associate position nor a partner-track role. Instead, it is an ideal opportunity to get involved in building incredible companies and to learn about investing from the best.\n* Expected to source companies. Rather, you will work with Todd to help review, analyze, and prioritize existing deal flow and support our portfolio companies.\n\n\n\nThis is a unique opportunity in which individuals from many backgrounds could excel. Here are just a few examples of profiles we think could be great:\n* An aspiring entrepreneur who wants to learn the fundraising and company-building fundamentals firsthand.\n* A business generalist with a passion for technology and a penchant for learning new things fast.\n* A project manager or operations guru with startup experience who thrives on keeping the trains running on time with little oversight.\n\n\n\nWe believe the strength of our team comes from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You might be a good fit if the following describes you:\n* Youโ€™re fascinated by technology and how todayโ€™s entrepreneurs are shaping the future. You donโ€™t necessarily need deep knowledge of the tech or venture capital industry, but you should be excited about the field and eager to learn the business quickly. Youโ€™re not afraid to ask questions.\n* You are a fast learner and laser-focused on high-quality execution with the drive to get things done. Youโ€™re deeply organized, detail-oriented, and reliable above all else. You thrive on working proactively and looking for ways to make things better. You thrive on efficiency, getting things done, and doing them right.\n* Youโ€™re curious and intuitive, yet also highly analytical and logical. Youโ€™re a strong and meticulous writer and pride yourself on thoughtful, eloquent communication. You know the right questions to ask, as well as when to listen and learn. You have the polish, presence, and high EQ to regularly interact with seasoned CEOs, founders, and other investors.\n* Youโ€™re not afraid to dive into new topics and get up to speed quickly, especially in the areas of data and developer tools, AI/ML, and infrastructure. Highly technical subjects donโ€™t scare or bore you.\n* You like working closely with others and are comfortable with a frequent cadence of communication. Youโ€™re excited by a fast paced environment and embrace having to react and work quickly.\n* We hope to meet candidates with at least 4-6 years of working experience. Todd is based in Los Angeles, so youโ€™ll be expected to be online during west coast working hours. While this role is remote, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to travel to First Round offices and events multiple times each year. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to React, Travel and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nUS

Magna is hiring a
Remote Senior Software Engineer

About Magna\nMagnaโ€™s goal is to be the one-stop solution for all token-based crypto companies who want to track outstanding and promised token allocations, automate the distribution of those tokens, and manage information about their stakeholders. Some liken us to โ€œCarta for Web3โ€.\nOur mission is to make it easier for crypto companies to manage their tokens and tokenholders so that they can focus on their product and not custom internal tools and smart contracts as they scale. We work with projects of all sizes throughout various L1 & L2 ecosystems.\nTokens are amongst the core assets crypto companies use to compensate and incentivize investors, employees, advisors, and even community members. The most common use cases for Magna include:\n\n\n\nToken Vestingย to employees and investors - Automated token distribution based on custom unlock schedules.\n\n\nToken Streamingย - Continuous distribution of tokens to stakeholders.\n\n\nAirdropsย - Vested airdrops to community members.\n\n\nProgrammable Unlocksย โ€“ Distributing tokens using our SDK based on contract interactions or in-app/in-game accomplishments.\n\n\nStakeholder Managementย โ€“ Tracking tax liability and legal filings for tokenholders and more.\n\n\nMagnaโ€™s platform is used by investors, employees, accountants, lawyers, and other key stakeholders throughout the crypto ecosystem.\n\nWhy Work at Magna?\n\n\nWeโ€™re a highly technical team\n\nThis is a space with deep technical challenges that reward builders. The blockchain isnโ€™t just a distributed ledger anymore, itโ€™s a distributed state machine. At Magna, weโ€™re not just building a new paradigm of software โ€” weโ€™re also trying to leverage the best of web2 while weโ€™re at it.\n\nWeโ€™re aย well-funded companyย with runway that can last us through the bear market (as long as that may be)\n\n\nA downtown Manhattan office with our own rooftop โ€“ย we operate on a hybrid model, where most employees come in a couple of times per week.\n\n\nHardwareย โ€” Whatever you need to get things done, plus a stipend to set up your home office.\n\n\nLearning budgetย โ€” Buy courses and attend conferences or hackathons.\n\n\nUnlimited Vacationย โ€” Take time off when you need it - 2 week minimum.\n\n\nTop-notch healthcare plansย โ€” We offer the best available platinum PPO and other similar plans that give you the most options with the lowest deductibles.\n\n\n\nAbout the Role\nBuild the future of token operations with us by designing and implementing software architecture that scales. Weโ€™re looking for someone comfortable going from zero-to-one and rapidly iterating on hackathon-style projects with other engineers as we grow.\n\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\n\nWork on the forefront of token distribution technology at the infrastructure level, solving edge-cases around token distribution, writing smart contracts for tokens worth millions of dollars\n\nBuild polished user experiences and applications\n\nWhere appropriate, ensure code modularity in the code written by the team through peer code-reviews, to increase our teamโ€™s velocity and make our code infrastructure more scalable\n\nWrite tests to make sure that things work when we ship them. If our users canโ€™t use the app, they canโ€™t get paid!\n\n\n\nWhat weโ€™re looking for\n\n\nExperience working with data-intensive applications, or apps used by tens of thousands of users\n\nComfortable working in sprint cycles and willing to bite the bullet when critical issues pop up\n\nFamiliarity with our tech stack\n\nBased in New York City and open to a hybrid work environment\n\n\n\nMagnaโ€™s Tech Stack\nMagna is a multi-chain dapp, and our stack includes TypeScript, Next.js, React and GraphQL, as well as the native languages for various blockchains (i.e. Solidity, Rust, Move).\nExperience with any of these isย nice to have, but not a requirement:\n\n\nDevOps, infrastructure, or data analytics experience\n\nInterfacing with smart contracts and blockchain via libraries (any blockchain).\n\nApplications where security and integrity is extremely important (finance, fintech, government, etc.)\n\n\n\nReasons you might be the right candidate for this role:\n\n\n\nPassion for engineeringย โ€” genuine passion and curiosity for the craft that you bring to work each day\n\n\nGood tasteย โ€” You think critically aboutย howย you build what you build, and apply good judgment to every design and implementation decision along the way.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, Crypto, React, Senior, Legal, Engineer and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

Magna is hiring a
Remote Web3 Full stack Engineer

The most common use cases for Magna include:\n\n\n\nToken Vestingย to employees and investors - Automated token distribution based on custom unlock schedules.\n\n\nToken Streamingย - Continuous distribution of tokens to stakeholders.\n\n\nAirdropsย - Vested airdrops to community members.\n\n\nProgrammable Unlocksย โ€“ Distributing tokens using our SDK based on contract interactions or in-app/in-game accomplishments.\n\n\nStakeholder Managementย โ€“ Tracking tax liability and legal filings for tokenholders and more.\n\n\nMagnaโ€™s platform is used by investors, employees, accountants, lawyers, and other key stakeholders throughout the crypto ecosystem.\nWhy work at Magna?\n\n\nWeโ€™re a highly technical team\n\nWe love the openness and transparency of web3, but weโ€™re working in the space because of the deep technical challenges that reward builders.\n\nThe blockchain isnโ€™t just a distributed ledger anymore, itโ€™s a distributed state machine. At Magna, weโ€™re not just building a new paradigm of software โ€” weโ€™re also trying to leverage the best of web2 while weโ€™re at it. Itโ€™s amazing fun if youโ€™re a developer whoโ€™s new to web3 and able to appreciate a lot of beautiful technical-first design decisions for the first time. (Have you ever tried to match a CUSIP number before?? Itโ€™s painful.)\n\nWeโ€™re aย well-funded companyย with runway that can last us through the bear market\n\n\nA downtown NYC office with our own rooftop โ€“ย We have a 3,300 sqft office in Soho, with a private roof. We operate on a hybrid model, where most employees come in a couple of times per week.\n\n\nHardwareย โ€” Whatever you need to get things done, plus a stipend to set up your home office.\n\n\nLearning budgetย โ€” Buy courses and attend conferences or hackathons.\n\n\nMonthly Wellness Stipendย โ€” Take care of yourself, whatever that means for you!\n\n\nUnlimited Vacationย โ€” Take time off when you need it - 2 week minimum.\n\n\nTop-notch healthcare plansย โ€” We offer the best available platinum PPO and other similar plans that give you the most options with the lowest deductibles.\n\nAbility to take ownership and build out functions within your department\n\n\nAbout the Role\nBuild the future of token operations with us by designing and implementing software architecture that scales. Weโ€™re looking for someone comfortable going from zero-to-one and rapidly iterating on projects while making carefully calculated decisions.\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\n\nWork on the forefront of token distribution technology at the infrastructure level and solve edge-cases around token distribution\n\nBuild polished dApps responsible for tokens worth millions of dollars\n\nWhere appropriate, ensure code modularity in the code written by the team through peer code-reviews, to increase our teamโ€™s velocity and make our code infrastructure more scalable\n\nWrite tests to make sure that things work when we ship them. If our users canโ€™t use the app, they canโ€™t get paid!\n\n\nWhat weโ€™re looking for\n\n\nProfessional experience working on dApps and integrating pre-written smart contracts into dApps -ย please note that this is a hard requirement\n\n\nKnowledge of how smart contracts work, Ethereum signatures, wallet connections, and transaction signing/execution\n\nStrong experience with web3 libraries such as web3.js, ethers.js, wagmi.\n\nExperience working with data-intensive applications, or apps used by tens of thousands of users\n\nComfortable working in sprint cycles and willing to bite the bullet when critical issues pop up\n\nFamiliarity with our tech stack\n\n\n\nMagnaโ€™s Tech Stack\nMagna is a multi-chain dApp, and our stack includes TypeScript, Next.js, React and GraphQL, as well as the native languages for various blockchains (i.e. Solidity, Rust, Move).\nExperience with any of these isย nice to have, but not a requirement:\n\n\nDevOps, infrastructure, or data analytics experience\n\nApplications where security and integrity is extremely important (finance, fintech, government, etc.)\n\n\n\n๏ปฟReasons you might be the right candidate for this role:\n\n\n\nCuriosityย โ€” keeping up with advancements and best practices in web3 can be tiring, but you try anyways!\n\n\nPassion for engineeringย โ€” genuine passion and curiosity for the craft that you bring to work each day\n\n\nGood tasteย โ€” you think critically aboutย howย you build what you build, and apply good judgment to every design and implementation decision along the way.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Web3, Design, Crypto, React, Legal, Engineer and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n
