SafetyWingย (YC W18) is seeking an ambitious, unshakeable and creative person to make our platform channel grow exponentially, thereby significantly impacting the future of work. We believe remote work enables a fundamental shift in the global labour market. Platforms as intermediaries will be very important in this world, and many of the benefits that are provided by an employer or national government will be provided by such platforms.
We have had some success already and have a number of great partners. However, we want to switch gears and unleash the enormous potential of this channel. To some degree, this means building something that doesnโt currently exist but should. We seek someone with a โfounder mentalityโ who is relentlessly resourceful, optimistic and visionary.
๐ป Your responsibilities will include
Taking full responsibility for ensuring the successful operation of the SafetyWing Remote Health Insurance API channel.
Collaborating closely with the platform sales team to identify and recommend new integration prospects, introducing new partners to the benefits of embedding SafetyWing insurance products.
Work closely with customer product teams to identify and qualify market-fit opportunities for integrating SafetyWing insurance products into platform partner offerings.
Utilizing your knowledge of APIs to promote and prioritize customer product requirements, working closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration.
๐งช We are looking for someone who
Has embedded products within other value propositions, preferably via APIs.
Has a background in selling integrated solutions to B2B service providers.
Has managed engineering resources or at least worked closely one-on-one with developers.
Ideally, has an engineering background and has worked directly with a proprietary codebase.
Has a good understanding of how intermediary platforms operate and what drives purchase decisions. Having experience from having built or had a leadership role in a freelancer platform would be a great advantage.
Has experience with product management and sales and has been responsible for performance of a product/channel.
Understands how to build and scale a revenue channel.
๐ We like to work with people who:
Think for themselves instead of copying others.
Are willing to try new things, even with the risk of failure.
Are intellectually curious and open to new ideas.
Are creative and bold in the face of any problems.
Have strong integrity and do the right thing.
๐ง What we offer
We operate in a fully remote work environment โ work from anywhere globally.ย
You will receive salary and equity compensation, health insurance, a laptop, a minimum of four weeks of yearly vacation, a personal development budget, and attendance in professional conferences.ย
We have a minimum of two annual team gatherings where you will join us. The previous gatherings were in Ljubljana, San Francisco, Mexico, Bali and Siglufjรถrรฐur.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Become a WiFi Tribe Chapter Host
WiFi Tribe is a global community of remote professionals from 62 nationalities. For the last 6 years, we have been traveling the world together with our members, living in a different city every month. On weekdays, we work remotely side-by-side, and on the weekends, we go on trips and adventures together.
Due to the COVID pandemic, the interest in what we do has exploded. We're now expanding our team and looking for talented and passionate community builders to take on the world with us as Chapter Hosts.
A WiFi Tribe Chapter Host is our version of a community leader. As a Host, you will be traveling the world with 20 other WiFi Tribe members and be in charge of the vibe (the culture) and group dynamics. This is a paid job and all travel costs are covered.ย At the end of the page you can apply to become a chapter host.
Why Does WiFi Tribe Exist?
We all need to feel that we belong somewhere. Humans evolved and survived as tribes and communities. But now, with billions of people living in mega cities and lonely one-person apartments, we're more disconnected than we ever were. We've traded comfort, success, and belongings for what really matters; human connection. Oh, and, where has our sense of adventure and discovery gone?!
You're reading this because you're a person who derives meaning and energy from being around other great people and bringing them together. You're a people person! You know this, because you've been told so often by others that you're just...ย naturally good with people. And, I'm going to bet that you love a good adventure.
Maybe, you're in a moment of transition in your life, where you're asking yourself:ย "What matters to me? What do I want more of in my life? What do I want my life to look like? And what do I need to change to get it there?"
At WiFi Tribe, we believe that a rich, fulfilling life boils down to three things:
a collection of shared experiences
deep, meaningful relationships, and
the sense of purpose we find when we are making a real difference in other people's lives.
What Does a Chapter Host Do?
Our Chapter Hosts are the most important members of our team. Everyone else on the team is here to supportย youย in making the magic happen! As a Host, your mission is to strengthen the culture and foster a tight-knit community. The result of that will be a mind-expanding experience that bonds people together for life.
Challenge accepted?
Ok, here's how it will happen... You'll be traveling the world with 20 other freelancers, entrepreneurs, and remote professionals, living and working together from a new city every month. Yes, you'll be responsible for the logistics of setting up a new destination,ย but that's the easy part... You'll find the ultimate match to your people skills and your natural leadership in the moments where you need to bring this group of 20 together and foster a real sense of community, wherever in the world we go.
As a Host, you are both the community architect and the community builder. You are a leader who empowers others to become active contributors and leaders too โ an engineer of human dynamics. Most importantly,ย you are a champion for the cultureย WiFi Tribe has carefully fostered over the last five years.
And when necessary, you step up to ensure that the experience is safe for everyone. You're the person in charge if anything needs to get resolved, and the on-the-ground liaison with the landlord/property owner. And don't worry, the rest of the WiFi Tribe team has got your back โ we're here to help you make the magic happen every step of the way!
How, Exactly, Will I Be Working?
Hosts usually run two or three Chapters in a row. They are then off for one or two months before hosting their next set of Chapters. Each Chapter is four or six weeks long, so a Host is typically running Chapters for two or three months at a time.
There is always a week in-between each Chapter. We call it the โgap weekโ. Hosts arrive at their destinations at the start of the gap week so that they have enough time to prepare for their next Chapter.
The Chapter Host role is a 12-month contract that is paid per completed Chapter. Whenever Hosts are not running a Chapter, there are no work-related expectations from our side. Therefore, we recommend applicants to have other part-time work alongside the Host role. Ideally, you would either already be working as a freelancer, have a part-time remote job, or be running your own company to have a stable income, especially during the months when youโre not running a Chapter.
When on-Chapter, you can expect a part-time commitment (about 20h per week, with most of those hours at the beginning of the Chapter and less at the end) and when off-Chapter, you wouldnโt have any WiFi Tribe-related work.
There may be an opportunity to take on additional projects within the WiFi Tribe company at a later time. This would depend on your skills, work experience, and interests in other areas of our company, as well as what kind of projects are available. Please do not rely on this, as we cannot guarantee that there will be sufficient projects to support your full-time income needs.
Am I the Right Person for this Role?
Our application process takes a lot of time and effort and we've had 200 applicants per available spot. So, out of respect to your time, we want to help you self-assess whether you are exactly the kind of person we're looking for:
You're a natural leader.ย Somehow people always gravitate around you and look to you for decisions.
You're confident.ย You're very comfortable being authentic self and your are stable within yourself.
You're brave.ย You don't shy away from doing the right thing, even when it's hard to do.
You're Reliable:ย People quickly trust you because you move through life with integrity.
You can 'feel' the room.ย You're aware of how everyone is feeling and you always make sure that everyone is involved and having a good time.
You're a people person.ย Your friends and colleagues always tell you that you're really good with people!
You're a community builder.ย You naturally bring groups of people together around events, experiences, shared interests or ideas. You build a community around you by empowering people to contribute.
In short, your superpowers are all about people and leadership.
If every single one of these felt like it was describingย who you are, we really hope you apply!
How Will I Grow Professionally?
Think of it as a practical, hands-on masters degree in community architecting, social dynamics engineering, and leadership... that you're getting paid for. We'll provide all the training for you to:
become skilled at navigating group dynamics
develop public speaking skills
sharpen your natural leadership skills
hone your organisational skills
hone your team/people management skills
become a skilled communicator
become skilled at managing uncertain or challenging situations
put your emotional intelligence to the test and make it your greatest asset going forward (in work and life)
Of course, it's on you to make the most of this opportunity, but just by being a leader within this community, you will be exposed to a constant stream of opportunities. You'll be surrounded by successful remote professionals, freelancers and entrepreneurs who will happily take the time to sit down with you and share their hard-earned wisdom and their unique perspectives. Take this chance to:
sharpen your business acumen
take a peek into any career you're curious about
find out more about an industry
build a personal network of friends all over the world, who all work remotely and happen to be experts in their fields
How Will I Grow as a Person?
Gain perspective as you meet new people and immerse yourself into the world's many cultures.
Escape the 9-to-5 cubicle and refocus on what truly matters: human connection, adventure, nature, self-discovery, growth, purpose, and just gratitude for life and all it has to offer.
Do work that matters. You WILL change people's lives (you'll be responsible for engagements, marriages, kids, best friends for life, a new-found feeling of belonging, self-discovery, big career changes, and a life filled with memories).
Become a better version of yourself. Let go of your ego and find yourself putting other people's needs first.
Challenge yourself to do something uncomfortable. This experience will shape you and prepare you for all sort of situations in life.
Learn any work or life skill from a fellow member of the community.
Learn from and grow with a great team that cares about you (as corny as it sounds, the team is family!)
"My growth and internal capacity as a human being has skyrocketed. I am surrounded everyday by people who are inspiring and passionate whilst retaining their humility. This community has shown me where I need to grow but also it has shown me the ways I already shine." -ย Amanda (Senior Chapter Host & Community Architect)
Is this a Typical Travel Job?
Yes and no. It's reallyย allย about community. But yes, as a Host, you will be traveling a lot and you'll be surrounded by people who are just as curious and excited about the world as you are. So, of course, this role is also about:
bringing more adventure into your life (escape the cubicle!)
experiencing more of those small moments that life is all about (the sunsets, cozy dinners, more time in nature, exploring the streets of an unknown place with a new-found friend...)
maybe learning a new language
being on a never-ending journey of growth with a bunch of curious, passionate and quietly successful humans by your side
maybe meeting a future business parter or the person who will open the door to your next big opportunity
making friends for life all around the world
filling your life with memories and experiences, instead of material things
and, of course, seeing the world while you're still young and full of energy!
Your Mission as a Host
Be an exemplary member of the community (live and breathe our values)
Protect and foster the culture (the vibe) of WiFi Tribe on each Chapter
Introduce new members to our culture to help them succeed
Be a leader that empowers others. Use your natural influence to achieve that people live by our values, to foster our intentional culture, and to lift people up so that other leaders naturally emerge from within the community

Collaborate with the landlord and sourcing team for any issues that need to be resolved (e.g. internet, housing quality, safety, etc.)
Make it feel safe and comfortable for members to arrive on your Chapter
Work with the Product team to improve the Chapter experience
Secondary Responsibilities
Be the on-the-ground eyes and ears for the rest of the team
Work with the marketing team to promote the location (create social media posts, record videos, etc.)
Work with Tribe Support to help onboard members to your Chapter

Compensation: $1,500 - $2,450 per Chapter (range depends on length of Chapter, bonuses and stipends)

How we work
We use an adapted version of Basecamp's Shape Up approach, which for us means:
We work in cycles of 5 weeks of focused work and 1 week of cool down.
We work in product teams, where each team owns the features and execution of certain product areas.
Each team owns creating "idea pitches" for upcoming cycles, and moving their product ideas along.
Each 5 week work cycle sees one or more "bets" shipped for each team, each having very specific and well-defined requirements.
During cool down, each of us chooses what we want to work on, be it bugs, minor features, tech debt, exploring new concepts, and more.
As the Senior Engineering Manager at Whimsical, you'll be contributing by ensuring the well-being of the Engineering team and making sure that any blockers are removed efficiently and problems are being solved. And being a small company means that on rare occasions you may have to roll up your sleeves and help with some code.
In addition to Shape Up, we also occasionally pitch in and do customer support to better understand our users and their needs, regardless of our role within the company.
Our primary mode of operation is asynchronous. We use real-time communication with great care, and only where it makes sense. We use Whimsical, email, Slack, and Zoom for our day-to-day communication.
But we also believe in spending quality time together, which is why we try to bring everyone from around the world together at least twice a year for what we call "Whimsical Summits". At Summits we focus on getting to know each other better and building bonds that help us communicate better when we're apart.
About Whimsical
Whimsical was founded in 2017 by Kaspars Dancis and Steve Schoeffel to help people think and collaborate in the digital-first work environment.
We are a remote-first company and big proponents of remote work because it democratizes the opportunities for people everywhere.
Our operating philosophy is based on set of core principles, such as:
Sustainability: We don't believe in growth at all costs. Growth is a fundamental part of a healthy existence but we want it to be in balance with sustainability and bounded by ethical behavior. We strive to work calm, 40-hour work weeks. Whimsical is also committed to doing our part towards sustainable future for the planet.
Craftsmanship: We care deeply about our work. We are specialists, eager learners, and persistent in our pursuit of quality work. We're patient and committed because building great things takes time.
Long-term focus: We're building Whimsical for the long-haul, not a quick exit. We avoid shortcuts and consider every key decision from a 10+ year perspective.
Partnership Mindset: Weโve built the company around the idea that everybody who joins us should feel like they are partners in the business. Time is precious and we want Whimsical to be the place where people invest their time rather than sell it. Our equity offers are 100% transparent and above market average. We also pay everyone at the same level the same salary, no matter where they live.

About Us
Close is a bootstrapped, profitable, 100% remote, ~70 person team of thoughtful individuals who value autonomy and impact. Weโre eager to make a product our customers fall in love with over and over again.
We love startups & SMBs. Since 2013, weโve been building a CRM ย that focuses on better communication, without the hassle of manual data entry or complex UI. Our goal: double the productivity of every sales rep.
Our appโs frontend is a single-page JavaScript(transitioning to TypeScript) web app mostly written in React (originally built with Backbone.js). Our mobile app is built using React Native. We bundle with Webpack and target only modern browsers. We test with Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress. Our UI updates in near real-time and is written in LESS/CSS (with flexbox and grid layout) using CSS modules and takes advantage of fun technologies like Websockets and WebRTC.ย
We care about performance (e.g. route-based code splitting), maintainability, and testability of our frontend code. We sweat the UI/UX details and work collaboratively with the Product team throughout the design process. This means diving into lo-fi wireframes, and communicating continuously when those ideas are brought to life using Figma and code.
Our frontend app is built on top of our REST API & GraphQL endpoints. Our backend tech stack consists of Python/Flask, MongoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis. We run our services in Docker on AWS.
We're looking for an experienced full-time Frontend Engineering Manager to join our engineering team and lead one of the 2 Frontend teams. You should be an empathetic leader, have spent part of your career as a senior-level engineer, and want to help build & grow a team of high-performing engineers.
You should have senior-level (4 years+) experience building modern frontend applications, preferably using React or similar framework.
You should have significant experience (2 years+) leading and growing a team of engineers. You enjoy helping engineers thrive and grow in their roles. You should have a very good idea of how to run 1:1s with your direct reports and how to form strong relationships. You should be comfortable with giving continuous feedback and doing performance reviews. You are expected to grow the team as-needed and help lead a hiring process.
You have a track record of managing engineering teams that delivered great products and features. You should be very comfortable working with the Product and Design teams to formulate product ideas, skilled at writing & reviewing technical specifications, and planning work for your team. You can take on non-critical path technical work if time allows.ย
Youโre comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a medium-sized talented team where you're supported in your efforts to grow professionally. You are able to manage your time well, communicate effectively, and collaborate in a fully distributed team.
You are located in an American time zone.
Bonus points if you have...
Experience practicing theย Shape Upย product development methodology
Experience scaling a small engineering team into a few teams
Experience building JS-based mobile apps
Built B2B SaaS products
Experience with sales or sales tools
About the Role
Manage and grow a team of 4-6 high-performing engineers (US and EU timezones), support them through 1:1s and continuous feedback, and empower their career growth.
A mix of team leadership, people management, product ideation, project coordination, and maximum 10% of your time spent on non-critical path IC work.
Work with a team of mostly-senior engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver great features.
Manage and optimize development processes as the team grows.
Participate in formulating a long-term frontend strategy.
Build a house you want to live in -- Examine long-term thinking and action
No BS - Practice transparency and honesty, especially when itโs hard
Invest in each other -- Build successful relationships with your coworkers and customersย
Discipline equals freedom -- Keep your word to yourself and others
Strive for greatness -- Constantly challenge yourself and othersย
How We Work Together
Productivity, Quality & Impact: We donโt track hours. We trust youโre an adult and know best how to prioritize, meet your goals and contribute at a high level.ย
Asynchronous communication & collaboration: We have team members all over the world. We donโt expect anyone to work untraditional hours, that means our default is async. Most teams have 2-5 hours of internal meetings weekly.ย
Appreciation for Deep Work: *During your normal work day, not after a day a meetings*.ย

How we work
We use an adapted version ofย Basecamp's Shape Upย approach, which for us means:
We work in cycles of 5 weeks of focused work and 1 week of cool down.
We work in product teams, where each team owns the features and execution of certain product areas
Each team owns creating "idea pitches" for upcoming cycles, and moving their product ideas along.
Each 5 week work cycle sees one or more "bets" shipped for each team, each having very specific and well defined requirements.
During cool down, each of us choose what we want to work on, be it bugs, minor features, tech debt, exploring new concepts, and more.
As an Engineering Manager at Whimsical, you'll be contributing by ensuring the well-being of the Engineering team and making sure that any blockers are removed efficiently and problems are being solved.
Sustainability:ย We don't believe in growth at all costs. Growth is a fundamental part of a healthy existence but we want it to be in balance with sustainability and bounded by ethical behavior. We strive to work calm, 40-hour work weeks. Whimsical is also committed to doing our part towardsย sustainable future for the planet.
Craftsmanship:ย We care deeply about our work. We are specialists, eager learners, and persistent in our pursuit of quality work. We're patient and committed because building great things takes time.
Long-term focus:ย We're building Whimsical for the long-haul, not a quick exit. We avoid shortcuts and consider every key decision from a 10+ year perspective.
Partnership Mindset:ย Weโve built the company around the idea that everybody who joins us should feel like they are partners in the business. Time is precious and we want Whimsical to be the place where people invest their time rather than sell it. Our equity offers are 100% transparent and above market average. We also pay everyone at the same level the same salary, no matter where they live.

Your Job
If you are a Senior Product Manager who's interested in building products to improve the job posting and job application experience, Indeed is looking for you!
The SMB (Small and Medium Business) Labs group at Indeed is a versatile group of different product teams. We pride ourselves on being able to take on new challenges in completely new business areas and deliver impact. Weโre currently working on initiatives to help employers identify and connect with the most relevant candidates using automation and smart UX.
Our team is located in APAC, and we are currently fully remote. Upon offices reopening post-COVID, all roles on this team will have the flexibility to either return to the office or remain remote.
As a Product Manager at Indeed, you will be working with a small team and figuring out how to help our customers and jobseekers in the hiring process
You will be empowered to set ambitious goals for your product and team. Your goals will not be easy to achieve; they should inspire and motivate the team to think big.
You will work closely with the development team on a daily basis. You will sit next to developers, define requirements and analyze tests with their input.
You will do data analysis yourself, whether itโs doing queries in MySQL, searching through logs, or using the plethora of in-house tools for analyzing data.
You will constantly create hypotheses for improving your product, test them, and learn from the results.ย ย
Our product development philosophy is similar to the Lean Startup philosophy. You will create MVPs, prototypes, simple tests to validate ideas and iterate.ย
We would prefer to spend time simplifying a feature to get it out the door this week than building flashy PowerPoint decks for all-hands meetings.
This is a unique opportunity to work with incredibly talented team members in a US-originated product development culture and environment.
Who You Are
Product Managers at Indeed are analytical, creative, and collaborative. We obsess over data and drive for simplicity.ย
You will guide the team by exemplifying these core values.
Product Managers have the responsibility to deliver results, but no direct authority over peers in Engineering and Design. A successful Product Manager leads by developing the trust and respect of teammates so you will have to influence others to follow your vision.ย
You and your peers will be custodians of the Indeed culture of data and collaboration.
You will enjoy a casual work environment, flexible hours, and great compensation and benefits. There is a complete lack of office politics; if that is your specialty, look elsewhere.
You will wear many hats and constantly learn new things on the job. You will be surrounded by smart, dedicated, nice people. You will be proud of the companyโs mission and your products' impact.
Requirements
Must have an Associate's degree or higher in the related field to the position you are applying for
