You will be working with complex concurrent systems, low-level code, complicated state machines, and novel algorithms.\n\nYou will be expected to fully own various components and drive their implementation from beginning to end, including the design, the implementation, the maintenance, and the documentation. You will be surrounded by highly productive and meticulous engineers who will be holding you to the same standards.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\n\n* Communication and collaboration with a fully distributed team.\n\n* Design and implementation of various complex Rust components.\n\n* End-to-end ownership of various components.\n\n* Design of new protocol changes.\n\n* Performance tuning and optimizations.\n\n* Work with open source community by collaborating with external contributors on our codebase, creating and participating in events, facilitating information exchange between our community and other open source communities.\n\n* Participating in the on-call rotation.\n\n\n\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\n\n* Experience developing a cloud-based database product.\n\n* Fluency with algorithms and data structures.\n\n* Ability to learn new languages and technologies fast.\n\n* Excellent coding skills.\n\n* Ability to go from design to implementation fast.\n\n* Good communication skills.\n\n* Meticulousness.\n\n* Experience with Rust or alternatively but less preferred C++ or Go.\n\n* Experience with concurrency or parallelism.\n\n\n\n\nWe'd Love If You Have:\n\n\n* Experience with open source database development.\n\n* Familiarity with internals of other blockchains.\n\n* Knowledge of cryptography.\n\n* Knowledge of compilers or virtual machines.\n\n* Knowledge of networks or operating systems.\n\n\n\n\nLocations: Anywhere in the world\n\nWorking at NEAR: Roles are posted to this portal on behalf of the companies that make up the NEAR Collective and are typically located anywhere in the world because most of the companies are fully remote.
