What youโll do\n\n\n* Own the platforms and tools that Courier Health engineers use to develop, test, deploy, and operate their code in production, including both third-party services and internal systems.\n\n* Work with engineering teams to understand their pain points, then build, test, and roll out solutions to the engineering organization.\n\n* Implement metrics to measure developer efficiency, and utilize them to determine project priorities and communicate engineering health.\n\n* Collaborate with Engineering and Product leadership to plan and prioritize developer efficiency projects.\n\n* Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies across engineering teams, ensuring consistency, reliability, and maintainability of the codebase.\n\n* Lead cross-functional squads of engineers to implement developer experience projects.\n\n* Consult with engineering teams to design scalable and reliable systems.\n\n* Think one step ahead to identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks before they become critical.\n\n* Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.\n\n\n\nExample Projects\n\nThese projects may be owned by this role, or may be collaborations with other engineering teams.\n\n\n* Increase release cadence, decrease change-failure rate, and decrease operational release cost.\n\n* Improve operational tooling (observability, debugging tools, downtime management).\n\n* Improve engineersโ development process and environments.\n\n* Improve visibility of and optimize cloud costs.\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* 6+ years of software engineering experience\n\n* Experience implementing modern software engineering best practices, such as CI/CD, shift-left testing, metrics/observability, code quality, and cloud environments.\n\n* Strong technical expertise in building, deploying, and operating web servers, specifically with AWS, NodeJS, TypeScript, and SQL.\n\n\n* Preferred technical experience: Terraform, PostgreSQL, Lambda, React, GraphQL.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Experience implementing and evangelizing metrics and monitoring tools across engineering functions.\n\n* Experience leading small teams of engineers to implement complex technical systems.\n\n* Product manager mindset to understand problems, research and propose solutions, and measure results.\n\n* Project management skills to ensure value is delivered iteratively at small intervals.\n\n* Change management skills to ensure system/process changes are effectively rolled out to the engineering organization.\n\n* Nice to have:\n\n\n* Experience operating production software in an environment with sensitive data, such as PII, PHI, or PCI.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
