\nAbout this role\n\n\n\n\nSynternet is a Layer 1 blockchain that powers real-time data infrastructure on any chain. Its foundation is the Data Layer, a protocol that enables chain-agnostic data composability in real-time through utilizing a novel, modular smart contract architecture.\n\n\n\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Blockchain Architect to help lead the design and development of our Layer 1 protocol with a primary focus on achieving cross-chain interoperability. As a key member of our team, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of different chain architectures, advanced knowledge of decentralized systems, and expertise in creating a flexible smart contract library capable of interacting with diverse chains in a modular and efficient capacity.\n\n\n\n\nWe have an extremely knowledgeable and capable Engineering/Technology team covering all essential development areas, and this position will bring additional leadership expertise to look after the overall Blockchain vision, strategy, and their implementation.\n\n\n\n\nYou will join a company filled with like-minded people who understand the purpose and impact of our project, and you will help to fulfill that purpose. Find out more at https://www.synternet.com/.ย \n\n\n\n\nWe're remote-first, so you can be based anywhere, although alignment with European time zones would be preferred.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMain responsibilities\n\n\n\n\nArchitectural Leadership:\n\n\n* Lead the design and development of Synternet's Layer 1 protocol emphasizing cross-chain interoperability for the Data Layer.\n\n* Define and implement a robust and scalable blockchain architecture that accommodates diverse chains and ensures seamless communication.\n\n\n\n\nBusiness Acumen:\n\n\n* Apply a strategic mindset to differentiate integration solutions that make business sense, enhancing adoption and increasing use cases.\n\n* Evaluate the economic viability of interoperability features, particularly in the realm of seamless, low-latency data access.\n\n\n\n\nInteroperability Expertise:\n\n\n* Conduct in-depth research on different blockchain architectures, identifying key interoperability challenges, and proposing innovative solutions.\n\n* Develop strategies and protocols to facilitate smooth data exchange and execution of smart contracts across various chains.\n\n\n\n\nSmart Contract Library:\n\n\n* Design and oversee the implementation of a modular smart contract library tailored for Cosmos-based chains and capable of interacting with a wide range of potential chains.\n\n* Ensure the smart contract architecture is flexible, scalable, and adaptable to the evolving landscape of blockchain technologies within the Cosmos ecosystem.\n\n\n\n\nCollaboration and Communication:\n\n\n* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, researchers, and product managers, to align architectural decisions with project goals.\n\n* Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\n\n\n\nInnovation and Research:\n\n\n* Stay up to date with the latest advancements in blockchain technologies, smart contract development, and decentralized systems within the Cosmos ecosystem.\n\n* Drive innovation by proposing and implementing cutting-edge solutions that enhance the protocol's interoperability and performance, especially in Cosmos-based environments.\n\n* Together with the leadership team, the Head of Engineering and Senior R&D Manager, work on and lead the development of Synternet's Blockchain and Layer 1 vision. Architecture the solution and own its implementation plan/strategy.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* Proven experience as a Blockchain Architect with a focus on interoperability, specifically within the Cosmos ecosystem.\n\n* Business acumen to evaluate and prioritize integration solutions that enhance business value, adoption, and use cases, with a specific focus on Cosmos-based interoperability.\n\n* Previous experience in a Head of Blockchain / Blockchain Lead / CTO role within a Web3 project is highly desired.ย \n\n* Expertise in developing a modular smart contract library with a Cosmos-based focus and a broader capability to interact with various chains.\n\n* Strong programming skills in languages such as Solidity, Rust, or others relevant to blockchain development.\n\n* Previous experience in building and successfully implementing a long-term blockchain strategy.\n\n* Proficiency with Cosmos SDK.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou get\n\n\n* A competitive salary and a significant long-term token package.\n\n* An annual budget for your professional & personal development.\n\n* 12 days per year dedicated for your professional development.\n\n* Remote-first environment (youโre still welcome to come to one of our offices, but you choose!)\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
