Experience with troubleshooting issues with complex laboratory equipment involving chemistry, software and hardware is a must. This role will report to the Manager, Field Service Engineering and will be a remote role.\n\nIf you possess the following and want to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to explore this role.\n\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities:\n\n\n* Providing onsite installation, qualification, upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance service on next generation sequencers\n\n* Identifying root causes and resolving product issues in the field\n\n* Collaborating with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes\n\n* Interacting with customers to offer and assist in service contract sales and other service products\n\n* Assessing maintenance/service needs and implementing a plan of action for instrument service\n\n* Displaying professionalism, understanding, tact and technical knowledge in all customer interactions\n\n* Implementing and following policies that pertain to the handling of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical count, car stock management, etc.\n\n* Utilizing service CRM software to accurately document work in a timely manner\n\n\n\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\n\n* Associate or Bachelor Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering, physics, biology, chemistry or related field (or equivalent combination of education and industry experience)\n\n* Experience with NGS sequencing instrument and sequencing run set up preferred\n\n* Ability to troubleshoot issues with complex laboratory equipment involving chemistry, software and hardware\n\n* Commercial experience is desired, to include direct selling of products and service contracts\n\n* Proven track record of working on teams that have taken products from concept to market\n\n* Experience developing or servicing scientific instrumentation involving optics, fluid handling and thermal systems.\n\n* Experience with multiple full life cycle product launches preferred\n\n* Proficient with data collection and analysis tools (eg: in MATLAB, Python, C++ or Java) preferred\n\n* Experience with fluorescence microscopy helpful\n\n* Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including technical writing abilities.\n\n* Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours\n\n* Demonstrated account management skills preferred\n\n* English speaking and second language is preferable\n\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\n\n* Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds\n\n* Requires COVID19 vaccination (or valid waiver) upon hire\n\n* Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours\n\n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n* Remote\n\n\n\n\nTravel:  \n\n\n* International travel up to 50%\n\n\n\n\nJob Type:\n\n\n* Full-time/Non-exempt\n\n\n\n\n\nIn addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off. \n\nPlease note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience. \n\nWe foster an environment such that all people are afforded the freedom to pursue their passions without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, gender (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristics protected by law. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Education, Sales and Engineer jobs that are similar:\n\n $55,000 — $80,000/year\n
