Remote Backend Engineer Accounting & Reporting Systems
\nBackend Engineer, Accounting & Reporting Systems (Contract 6m)\n\nPolychain is looking for a Backend Engineer, Accounting and Reporting Systems, who will be pivotal in developing APIs, managing crypto asset data, and enhancing reporting for our asset operations team. The role involves extracting data from various crypto platforms, normalizing it, and ensuring it's queryable and insightful for portfolio management, smart contract vesting, and counterparty exposure. Competitive compensation, $150/hr.\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* \nAPI Development and Management:\n\n\n* Develop, test, and optimize APIs for pulling crypto asset data from various counterparties and block explorers.\n\n* Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and security of data extraction and transmission processes.\n\n* Leverage no-code platforms like Retool to build intuitive data interfaces and dashboards.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \nData Normalization and Management:\n\n\n* Normalize extracted data to ensure consistency and accuracy across all data points.\n\n* Implement data management solutions to store, retrieve, and manage collected data effectively.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \nData Query Optimization:\n\n\n* Develop and optimize SQL and NoSQL queries to facilitate easy and efficient data retrieval.\n\n* Ensure that the data is easily queryable and accessible for reporting and analysis purposes.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \nCross-Functional Collaboration:\n\n\n* Work closely with the asset operations team to understand their data and reporting needs.\n\n* Assist in developing reports and dashboards that provide insightful data on portfolio management, smart contract vesting schedules, and counterparty exposure.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \nDocumentation and Compliance:\n\n\n* Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed APIs, data management systems, and reporting tools.\n\n* Ensure that all data handling and processing activities are compliant with relevant data protection regulations.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.\n\n* Significant experience with complex SQL queries and working with relational databases.\n\n* Experience designing, building, and working with APIs.\n\n* Proven experience in API development, preferably in the crypto/blockchain domain.\n\n* Solid experience with blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and decentralized finance.\n\n* Plus- experience with Google Cloud, BigTable, or even AWS.\n\n* Should be able to create simple data visualizations and backend storage feeding the visualizations.\n\n* 3-5 years of experience.\n\n* A genuine passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.\n\n* Resourceful and solutions-oriented thinker; comfortable operating in an environment of ambiguity and little structure.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPolychain is an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
