You will be a great communicator and have excellent English skills. \n\nWe’re building out a two-sided marketplace for the chemical industry, which is responsible for 1/4th of global GDP. To support our mission, we’ve embarked on a project to allow our customers to easily find chemical compounds, formulations, and documents they may be interested in. This is specifically tailored to our industry, and our customers love it. \n\nThis project has serious engineering challenges: efficiently ingesting data from several sources and keeping overall search performance and accuracy in check. We have a dedicated team whose sole purpose is to maintain a complex chemical taxonomy used everywhere in the project. The ideal candidate will be critical in connecting our systems and applications, ensuring seamless workflows across our cloud platforms and on-prem systems. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\n\n* As a small, remote team you’ll be empowered to work directly with leadership and the product team to make decisions about your code and the future of the product.\n\n* Be a trailblazer by contributing to the build of a complex ecommerce marketplace, the first of its kind in the Chemicals space.\n\n* Have a strong emphasis on shipping features quickly without sacrificing code quality.\n\n* Own your projects from software design to implementation and deployment.\n\n* Take pride in your work by implementing cutting-edge technologies and writing state-of-the-art code.\n\n* Emphasize simplicity and pragmatism, which is reflected in your elegant code that other developers emulate.\n\n* Design and build scalable, high-availability mission-critical systems and APIs\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Should Have\n\n\n* At least 2 years of commercial experience\n\n* Very good knowledge of Python programming language.\n\n* Very good knowledge of networking, basic data structures and algorithms.\n\n* Great knowledge of SQL.\n\n* Good knowledge of Django, Flask is a plus\n\n* Experience with building automations and processes is a plus\n\n* Ability to take tasks from requirements to deployment quickly and independently.\n\n* Ability to work within distributed, multidisciplinary teams\n\n* High bar for quality and a phenomenal attention to detail\n\n* Working knowledge of deployment process (Capistrano), user authentication and authorization (Devise)\n\n* Ability to properly design and implement clear and scalable project structure\n\n* Experience with test-driven development.
