Back End Engineer (Junior)\n\n£30k | Permanent  | Reporting to Engineering Manager\n\nCollectiv Food is looking for a talented Junior Back End engineer to join an exciting, fast-paced team. \n\nLocated in White City, West London, you will join a growing, collaborative team that encourages innovation and contribution from everyone.\n\nAs part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be using the latest technology to produce scalable services, helping to solve complex problems that will have a real impact on the success of businesses across the foodservice industry.\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nYou will be working within an Agile software development team with some of the following technologies; .Net 6.0 (C#), Typescript, AWS Suite; ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Elasticsearch, SQS and SNS, creating services that power our revolutionary web and mobile applications.\n\n\n* Crafting reusable code to implement new features and support live products\n\n* Ensure unit and automated test coverage is achieved\n\n* Optimisation of applications for speed and scalability\n\n* Agile/Scrum development, including: \n\n\n\n* Design reviews and code reviews\n\n* Active involvement in refinement and planning sessions\n\n* Working well in a team context adapting to and influencing team practices\n\n\n\n* Contributing to wider business goals, ensuring the availability, security, and scalability of its platforms\n\n\n\nSkills and Requirements\n\n\n* Experience with either C#, Javascript or Typescript, or a similar language.\n\n* Familiar with principles such as SOLID, TDD, YAGNI and KISS — even better if you practice most of them\n\n* Aware of best practices for application lifecycle management (CI/CD, Unit test, monitoring)\n\n\n\nAdded bonuses (or the cherries on top!)\n\n\n* Experience building online services and APIs\n\n* Experience with .Net (C#) or NodeJS (Typescript or Javascript)\n\n* Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.\n\n* Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi).\n\n* Familiar with SQL and NoSQL database development\n\n* Secure authorisation e.g. OAuth, use of JWT etc.\n\n\n\n\n* The qualifications and experiences above are a guide and we would still love to hear from you if you believe you have the necessary skills to excel with us.\nWhat you'll get \n\n\n* Competitive salary with industry-matching pay reviews\n\n* EMI Stock Options for every employee\n\n* NEST Pension (option to choose greener funds)\n\n* £1000 per year for you to spend on what matters to you from learning and development to healthcare to mental wellbeing to gym membership - you choose!\n\n* 25 days plus a day for your birthday, wedding day, and moving day, as well as up to 1 day per quarter for you to volunteer\n\n* Sabbatical offered after 3 years service\n\n* High-spec laptop and equipment\n\n* Flexible working\n\n* Hybrid remote and office based working.
