This position will provide case management services to immigrant families having recently arrived from the southern border, including services such as applying for public benefits, accessing medical care, assisting children to enroll in school, providing referrals to external organizations, and ongoing community orientation.\n\n\n\nRole & Responsibilities\n* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\n\n\n* Conduct comprehensive assessments with immigrant families to assess needs and barriers, and to facilitate connections to appropriate services for meeting identified needs. \n* Assist asylum seeking families in accessing and understanding public benefits such as Medicaid, All Kids, VTTC and WIC. \n* Orient participants to the healthcare system including making appointments, arranging transportation, and communicating important information to physicians. \n* Provide education/orientation to families regarding their new surroundings in the city of Chicago. \n* Assist immigrants in scheduling and attending appointments with social service and medical providers, at times providing transportation \n* Maintain timely and accurate client files, case notes, and reporting records \n* Actively participate in department meetings and program trainings \n* Other duties as assigned\n\n\n\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\n* Fluent Spanish Speaker\n* Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and ability to work independently \n* Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment \n\n\n* Knowledge of the immigrant experience highly preferred \n* Strong mediation and problem-solving skills \n* Excellent interpersonal and relational skills. \n* Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow through on projects and assignments \n* Experience and/or training in working with traumatized populations or trauma informed care \n* Desire to engage the local church in partnership with our service to asylum seekers \n* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem solve, and exercise critical thinking skills \n* Willingness to advocate on behalf of clients with service providers, and governmental organizations\n\n\n\nRequirements\n* Mature and personal Christian faith\n* Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief\n* Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities\n* Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document\n* Fluent in Spanish \n* Valid driver’s license, and ability/willingness to drive minivan and/or 15-passenger van required \n* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications\n\n\n\n\n\nWorld Relief offers a competitive benefits package (25 hours + per week):\n \n- Medical, Dental, Vision\n- Offer 16 company Paid Holidays + 4 additional Personal days per year!\n- Paid Sick and Vacation Time\n- Paid Parental Leave (12 weeks for qualified employees)\n- FSAs: Medical & Dependent Care, & Commuter Funding\n- Supplemental Life Insurance (employee, spouse, and children)\n- Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Accident insurance policies\n- Legal Shield Insurance\n \nWorld Relief pays 100% for eligible employees:\n- Group Term Life (employee, spouse, and children)\n- Long Term & Short-term Disability\n- Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)\n- Long Distance Travel Insurance\n- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)\n \nWorld Relief - Retirement:\n- 401K & Roth\n- WR matches up to 4%, then an additional quarter percent up to 10%\n- Eligibility: Full Time (40 hours per week) is eligible after 3 months of employment.
