\nRails Devs – Platform – Full Stack \n\nNo other game studio uses a web stack like Red 5. In most games, everything happens between the game client/server that saves the data to the database directly. Later, that data gets moved and the web team builds the product web site to finalize. At Red 5 Studios the client connects directly to the game server which handles all the real time simulation. It does not talk to the database. Instead it sends out information to the web stack and our other web sites which talk to those APIs. Our entire game is run on a web platform similar to a web company like FB, Netflix, or Twitter. This enables our Web Dev Team to actually build game features like crafting systems, progression and rewards systems and limitless other features working directly with our design team. Our web team spends roughly 80% of their time building in game features with web enabled technologies for millions of gamers to enjoy.\n\nWe offer an original IP, self-published in the US and Europe, a flat organization with a tremendous company team culture with innovative and creative technologies and marketing. In addition, we have a profit sharing plan and with a still relatively small studio (150 or so) this could be quite lucrative.\n\nThe Discipline\n\nThe Red 5 Studio’s Web Development team is comprised of the brightest architects, designers, and engineers in the business. Building the web-based tools and features needed to form the backbone of our online presence, our Web Developers are committed to providing the best online experience for our users. To accomplish this, the web developers work closely with the game designers to create functionality in both Firefall the game and on the official Firefall website, and ensure that all facets of design are of the highest quality. The Web Development team also works alongside our Marketing and Community teams to design and implement community-focused web features and promotions.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nRuby Devs wanted to help develop our next gen MMO server infrastructure. No gaming experience required, but you will be working on highly scalable web services for social features, billing and item store systems, stat and data mining, crowd sourced support initiates and more challenging back end and front end systems. We are a case study for Amazon as we are the first next-gen MMO running in the cloud and work closely with them on unique real time challenges.\n\n\n* Scaling back-end infrastructure to large scale systems\n\n* Own your code. Write it, test it, and push it to production via continuous deployment\n\n* Design and construct scalable web service APIs to serve data needs of the platform\n\n* Constantly improving the game and user experience on your own accord\n\n* Writing unit and/or integration tests for your code\n\n* Deciding what is the most appropriate technology to be used for any situation\n\n* Monitoring the performance of your applications, and keeping them fast\n\n* Debugging platform-based issues\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
