You will be an integral part of our Android team and will work with our product design team to help us make a great app, and also a great Android app. As youโll be joining a small Android team of one, you will help shape our culture which includes code review and efforts to increase automated testing.\n\n\n**The details:**\n* This is a full-time, remote position.\n* Weโre offering between $80,000-$123,000 USD per year for this role based on your experience and cost of living.\n* No share options or equity.\n* This position requires travel to our semi-annual retreats ([Last one was Peru and allowed families to come too!](https://medium.com/1-second-everyday/planning-1ses-5th-team-retreat-612316987ca9)).\n\n\n**Bonus skills & attributes:**\n* Experience with RxJava (or Reactive Extensions in another language)\n* Experience with jUnit, Mockito, and Hamcrest (or other automated testing tools)\n* Experience with dependency injection frameworks like Dagger\n* Making network requests with Retrofit\n* Have used 1 Second Everyday. \n\n**Benefits & perks:**\n* Paid open vacation policy - We offer a MINIMUM of 2 weeks off each year. **Senior Android Developer responsibilities:**\n* Drive software development in all parts of our Android app including new features, fixing bugs, refactoring, etc.\n* Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code\n* Faithfully implement UI designs (with the understanding that it's a 2-way dialogue)\n* Bring up junior and intermediate developers in the future\n* Make an app that is a good citizen of the Android platform by embracing OS features and UI conventions\n* Work with our support team to help explain and resolve problems as they arise\n* Help determine the scope of projects and break them down into smaller tasks\n* Work with our services team on API changes and backwards compatibility\n \n\n# Requirements\n**Senior Android Developer requirements:**\n* Experience working on a distributed team\n* Ability to work well with other people and communicate professionally\n* Willingness to help others learn and grow without judgement\n* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English\n* Proficiency with git\n* 5+ years of experience of building and shipping native Android apps\n* Expert knowledge of Java and a strong knowledge of Kotlin\n* Experience with technical writing such as documentation and specifications\n* Share and embody [our company values](https://www.notion.so/1se/Our-Culture-ea12549713a64c19b7a91ea207f2614d)\n* Travel to our semi-annual retreats \n\nPlease mention the words **RACE THREE ASSAULT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RNTQuMTc1LjEyMC4xNjE=).
