We’re looking for a talented engineer to lead the development and continual improvement of our brand new iOS app. As a Backend Software Engineer at Shortcut, you’ll have a direct impact on the customer experience for both our barbers and customers. You will be responsible for the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of the technical foundation of the Shortcut Platform as we work to increase the efficiency of our systems and scale out the business to meet increased service demand. We’re open to your ideas for cool and innovative ways to hone the Shortcut experience as we’re striving to build the absolute best experience for our users.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n• Provide technical leadership to the development team.\n\n• Build, lead and continuously develop a team of high-caliber, experienced engineers.\n\n• Continuously design, develop and deploy backend services with focus on scalability.\n\n• Measure and evaluate features and system metrics to continuously improve user experience and service performance.\n\n• Test, debug and maintain the application software throughout the product lifecycle.\n\nQualifications\n\n• B.S. degree in CS, ME, EE, Physics, Math or a cool drop-out story.\n\n• One or more deployed consumer iOS applications in the App store.\n\n• Fluent in Python, experience with Django.\n\n• Manage advanced NoSQL Databases, specifically MongoDB.\n\n• Working knowledge of Redis.\n\n• Proficiency with API design and implementation.\n\n• Experience writing software for a startup or large tech company. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
