\nSummary\nTHIS POSITION WILL NOT BE PHYSICALLY MANAGING HARDWARE. All of our infrastructure is managed through an online portal and through SSH console.\nOur team builds software for outpatient pediatric therapy. As we continue to rapidly grow, we are looking for a talented and highly capable individual to assume oversight of the standard day-to-day administration of Linux servers including security, provisioning, monitoring, backups, and recovery planning.\nResponsibilities\nThis position is responsible for a wide array of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.ย \nDevice & Resource Management\n* Maintain, enhance, and create tools for our servers\n* Create, manage and maintain installation scripts\n* Configure and monitor devices and services\n* Identify and resolve problems with servers\n* Plan for capacity and growth, backups and disaster recovery\n\n\nSecurity\n* Perform security scans\n* Manage security policies and guidelines\n* Manage threat detection and action plan\n\n\nBackups\n* Back up, recover, maintain, and migrate data and programs\n* Manage and monitor back up strategy and schedule\n\n\nPerformance Monitoring\n* Configure and manage automated ways to monitor various metrics (disk, cpu, etc)\n* Manage and act on threshold-based alerts\n* Consult with development team on application profiling\n* Tune OS, hardware and software settings for performance\n* Perform load testing and capacity estimates\n\n\nDatabases (MariaDB)\n* Configure and manage clusters or master/slave situations\n* Implement high availability database strategy\n* Tune database settings to improve performance, recoverability\n\n\nRedundancy\n* Create, manage and test a disaster recovery strategy\n* Setup replication, clustering or isolation strategies as needed\n* Configure and manage load balancing\n* Test for resiliency and fault tolerance\n\n\nRequirements\nThis individual needs to be very autonomous with high technological aptitude, and highly analytical with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve a variety of problems; confidence and expertise in systems engineering is a must.\nRequired\n* Ability to rapidly learn complex systems and make recommendations\n* Excellence in Linux (RHEL) system administration\n* Experience with hardware, network, and system design\n* Ability to self-manage and self-motivate\n* Commitment to quality work\n\n\nDesired\n* Experience in performance tuning and monitoring\n* Experience with database administration\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
