Bureaucracy is for someone else who likes wasting time and effort.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nThe Director, Engineering works alongside the CTO and Product Manager to help the development team deliver quality technology consistently. You’ll help to set and enforce standards around code reviews, builds, and internal documentation. You’ll work alongside developers to help them develop good habits and make sure the right tools are in place for everyone to be productive. You’ll contribute to limited amounts of the work for iterations and also author tools and scripts that can assist the development operations.\n\nKey responsibilities:\n• Responsible for establishing standards for quality including code reviews, unit tests, functional tests, etc. \n• Expected to guide and mentor developers to develop healthily, sustainable practices, providing resources to the team at large as well as individuals.\n• Create and manage tools for development operations.\n• Keep team focused on frequently delivering working software.\n\nWhat You’ll Need\n\n• Solid experience of building a complex, Business-to-Business (B2B) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product.\n• Technical expertise in web languages and databases.\n• Problem solving skills.\n• Leadership ability to drive a team toward the goal.\n• Solid communication (both written and verbal) skills.\n\nWhere We Are\n\nWe are located in the city centre of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.
