\nThe Product Development organization within Paylocity embraces the Agile software development process. Business stake holders are actively involved in release planning, sprint demos and check-ins. \n\n\n\nAs a member of the Core Engineering team, he/she will be responsible for creating, enhancing and supporting common features and platform services that enable product teams to meet their commitments. The Core Engineering team mission is to drive the adoption of new technologies, develop re-usable components and perform architectural enhancements, allowing the product teams to deliver scalable enterprise level applications.\n\n\n\nPrimary duties and responsibilities:\n\nThe Principal Engineer will actively be involved in technical design, hands-on coding and performance tuning on cross-cutting product platforms and features.\n\n\n\n* Committed to developing the best software available and providing the ultimate customer experience\n\n* Interested in helping to continually improve our software development process\n\n* Able to work in a collaborative environment with a willingness to share your ideas\n\n* Able to work independently on modules and complete tasks with high quality\n\n* Perform technical proof of concepts to determine recommendations on technical approach for new features\n\n* Work with Product Teams to assist with their use of application architectures\n\n* Understand various security risks and implement appropriate standards\n\n* Troubleshoot performance issues and provide necessary recommendations\n\n* Collaborate with other team members to develop solutions that integrate well across multiple platforms/product lines.\n\n* Work on cutting-edge technology\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWork on cutting-edge technology!\n\n\n* Paylocity is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner developing its next generation web payroll, HR and time-clock system using ASP.NET/C#/AJAX, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server and SSRS and BizTalk server\n\n* We are developing our application with Visual Studio 2013 and SQL Server 2012\n\n* We have separate IT and internal development departments. Even within the department there are separate QA and Business Analyst teams. \n\n* We have a great, collaborative team: Average person has 8-10 years experience.
