\nThe Cadasta Foundation is building a global platform to help marginalized communities and individuals document their rights and interests in land, property, and resources. We are seeking a Developer to help us continue to build out our open source platform built on a variety of open source technologies, including Python, JavaScript, OpenDataKit and PostgreSQL.\n\nAs a member of a small team, the developer has the opportunity to influence and affect the development process beyond the code. Not only will you be building the platform, you'll be able to contribute to organizational direction and have first hand access & influence at all levels of the organization. Flexibility and a willingness to chip in, collaborate, and learn are key in this role, but that doesn't mean long hours or work outside your scope. Cadasta prides itself on being a welcoming, people-first environment that's dedicated to healthy work-life balance.\n\nOur ideal candidate for the developer position is not necessarily someone that knows every single coding language; rather, we'd like to hire an experienced developer with the ability to tackle a variety of technical development tasks, and that enjoys learning new technologies in a collaborative environment. We encourage diverse applicants with non-traditional development career paths to apply - in other words, we're looking for the right person, not the right combination of buzz words. Traditionally underrepresented populations in tech such as women, People of Color, People with Disabilities, and LGBTQ+ people, etc, we strongly encourage you to apply! We primarily work remotely, so almost anyone, anywhere in the world is eligible.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Help maintain and expand the Cadasta platform as part of a collaborative engineering team\n\n* Proficiently write code in JavaScript, Python and HTML/CSS\n\n* Contribute to technical strategy for Cadasta platform\n\n* Participate in planning, execution and review of sprint process\n\n* Assist in troubleshooting and supporting our platform\n\n* Contribute back code to open source projects that Cadasta relies on\n\n\n\n\nDesired Skills, Qualifications and Experiences\n\n\n* Experience solving technical problems in creative ways\n\n* Familiar with any of the following technologies: OpenDataKit, PostgresSQL, Field Papers\n\n* Experienced in modern software development methodologies\n\n* Knowledge of source control and ticketing systems (we use Git/Github Issues)\n\n* You collaborate well in a team environment\n\n* Proficient oral and written communication skills\n\n* Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) desired\n\n* Previous contributions to systems designed for use in low-bandwidth, low-tech environments\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
