We partner with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer - Digital Experience, the Office of Information Technology, Veterans Health Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration to design and deliver seamless user experiences for Veterans, their Families and Caregivers and VA employees. By applying better practices in service design, product management and technology, we enable VA to increase the usage, throughput, quality and reliability of services and decrease the time Veterans spend waiting for outcomes.\nWhat youโll do\n\nOur ideal Full Stack, QA Engineer will create test documents, including test plans and test summary reports. They will have a thorough understanding of QA testing environments/tools, and software development life cycles. As a Full Stack, QA Engineer you will be able to:\n\n\nShipping software that impacts the lives of millions of people\n\nUsing modern programming languages and frameworks to build scalable services that gracefully integrate with legacy systems\n\nBuilding and working with APIs to support both the digital services we deliver as well as third-party usage\n\nUsing unit and integration testing to ensure systems work as intended\n\nHelping us continuously, iteratively improve\n\n\n\nWhat we hope you'll bring\n\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience developing consumer-facing web applications, services, and APIs\n\nStrong experience with JavaScript and Ruby\n\nExperience with cross browser testing tools\n\nExperience with automation testing tools such as Cypress or Selenium (preferred)\n\nExperience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD process tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI\n\nExperience analyzing bugs\n\nExperience with manual testing, browser testing.\n\nExperience with documenting test plans\n\nExperience with Rest API development and maintenance\n\nExperience collaborating with external teams and stakeholders\n\nExperience and understanding of at least one agile methodology such as Scrum, XP, or SAFe.\n\nExperience with Amazon Web Services, in particular EC2, S3, and RDS.(preferred)\n\nExceptional attention to details\n\nSolid spelling, grammar, and communication skills.\n\n\n\nMore than that, our ideal candidate wants to contribute to work that is bigger than themselves and wants to make a difference collaborating with their team.
