\n\n\n\n\nFactory Data is the central team within Manufacturing Engineering that delivers advanced analytics, online algorithms, and strategic decision science critical to Rivianโs mission. To enable that work we build and use Rivianโs Factory Data Cloud - the cohesive platform that enables the tight data and model integrations our factories need to enable Rivian to scale with unprecedented quality, speed, and operational performance. Our customers are Manufacturing Engineering and a broad cross-section of Rivianโs organizations including Production, Quality, Product Design, Reliability, and of course ourselves.\n\n \n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuild code-based data transformation pipelines that deliver clean/structured data ready for analysis (primarily using dbt and an โELTโ workflow in Snowflake)\n\n\n\n\n* \nHelp organize and stage file-based data in AWS S3 and make that available within our data warehouse when possible\n\n\n* \nApply software engineering best practices to our analytics code pipelines (e.g. version control, testing, continuous integration)\n\n\n* \nMaintain excellent data documentation and definitions for our analytics data models and core business objects\n\n\n* \nBe an expert in our core data sources and train business users on how to understand/consume that data\n\n\n* \nBuild out data dashboards (e.g. in Tableau, R Shiny) to expose analytics data models to users for basic access and to provide feedback/review\n\n\n\n\n \nQualifications:\n\n\n* 5+ years professional experience after receiving a degree in a quantitative field\n\n\n\n\n\nExceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills in a cross-functional environment\n\n\n\n\n* \nFluency with SQL for performing data transformation\n\n\n* \nStrong understanding of tidy, relational data structures for analytics/reporting\n\n\n* \nExperience with R or Python (and a willingness to learn) is a plus\n\n\n* \nExperience with Tableau for building analytics dashboards is a plus\n\n\n* \nExperience using git and version controlled workflows (e.g. branching, merge-requests, code-review)\n\n\n* \nEagerness to work closely with manufacturing engineering teams and develop domain knowledge about manufacturing processes\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nThis is where you'll work:\n\nDepartment: Manufacturing Engineering - Factory Data\nLocation: Palo Alto, CA or Remote, USA\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
