Alethea Group is hiring a
Remote Analysis Manager Director

\nAlethea Group is seeking a Manager or Director of Analysis (level to be determined based on experience) to join a fast-growing start-up committed to detecting and mitigating disinformation. A senior position, the Manager/Director of Analysis will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Analysis and is responsible for overseeing Alethea Groupโ€™s project teams of investigators and analysts as they undertake complex disinformation investigations and sophisticated client engagements to meet a dynamic set of customer needs. The Manager/Director of Analysis will also be responsible for managing day-to-day client relationships, working with clients to appropriately scope and resource custom projects, and editing analysis products to ensure they meet the highest analytic standards. \n\nThis is a distinctly managerial role, but it requires the successful candidate to themselves have extensive experience conducting complex investigations and producing high quality analysis, managing analytic teams, and mentoring analysts in the state-of-the-art as it pertains to analytic tradecraft. The Manager/Director of Analysis must be capable of โ€“ and comfortable with โ€“ expertly critiquing and interrogating the work of analysts and helping them iterate on investigative approaches and written outputs to ensure that they meet our standards of analytic excellence. \n\nResponsibilities include:\n\n\nManaging Alethea Groupโ€™s project teams of investigators and analysts as they undertake complex disinformation investigations.\n\nOwning the analysis editorial process and final editing for all customer-facing analytic products to ensure they meet the highest analytic and written standards. \n\nManaging day-to-day client relationships (including leading client meetings) and the timely delivery of their custom services contracts, including working with clients to meticulously scope and schedule projects and reports.\n\nIdentifying and developing opportunities to provide new analytic products and services to existing clients.\n\nMentoring analysts in investigative and analytic tradecraft and writing. \n\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n\n5+ years experience in an intelligence/threat intelligence/research setting conducting complex investigations and producing sophisticated written analytic products on adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), including 3+ years experience overseeing teams of analysts/investigators.\n\nDisinformation or Information Operations subject matter expertise is a huge plus. If the candidate does not have such expertise, they will need to demonstrate they have the ability to quickly develop it (for example by demonstrating expertise in a related field such as international politics, cybersecurity, extremism research etc). Current general familiarity with the topic of disinformation is critical.\n\nExtensive experience developing topics for and managing research, intelligence, and open source products. \n\nExperience managing stakeholder relationships and working with analysis consumers to scope and tailor custom investigations.\n\nSuperior experience producing high-quality written products that are succinct, logically structured, visually appealing, and tailored to the audience.\n\nDemonstrated ability to expertly critique and interrogate the analytic work of others and edit written outputs to ensure they meet the highest standards of analytic quality. \n\nStrong experience with OSINT investigative methodologies in the digital domain and/or social media analysis.\n\nStrong client-management skills, executive presence, and experience briefing decision makers orally with demonstrated ability to deliver key messages with clarity, confidence and poise.\n\nAbility to recognize and develop business opportunities to provide new analytic products and services to existing clients. \n\nSuperior organization and project management skills. A PMP certification is a huge plus. \n\nGeneral familiarity with/exposure to data analytics approaches and data visualization is preferred. You donโ€™t need to be technical, but do need to be able to see past the glitz to interrogate data assumptions.\n\nExperience directly managing private-sector clients is a plus.\n\nDegrees are good. Impact is better.\n\n\n\n\nEqually important to the ability to perform the duties above, Alethea Group is especially interested in the cultural fit for our team:\n\n\nA relentlessly positive attitude and the ability to balance work and life efficiently in order to get the job done, without sacrificing sanity. A sense of humor is a plus.\n\nA roll up your sleeves attitude. This is a start-up, and no job is too small.\n\nIntegrity in unregulated, unchartered territory. There are very few rules governing the information space, and Alethea Group employees will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the firmโ€™s ethical standards.\n\nA constant desire to learn and be challenged by team members of all levels. Our titles are to help our clients identify roles and responsibilities, but on our teams, we should be challenging each other to think outside the box, develop creative solutions, and build something together.\n\nAn understanding of the political and economic systems in the United States, and how disinformation poses a threat to institutions.\n\nThe ability to demonstrate discretion. Our clients are sensitive. Their data is sensitive.\n\nThe ability to communicate directly and get the job done. Weโ€™re busy, so this isnโ€™t a โ€œmeeting-before-the-meetingโ€ kind of place.\n\nAn ability to thrive in ambiguity. Create a structure that works for you and your team. We are not micromanagers.\n\n\n\n\nSalary and Benefits:\n\n\nSalary and stock options will be negotiated based on experience.\n\nHealth care at the gold-tier level is fully funded by the employer.\n\nUnlimited sick leave, unlimited PTO, and 10 Federal Holidays.\n\nA flexible work schedule.\n\nRemote and telework options, with offices located in Washington, D.C.\n\nEmployer sponsored 401k.\n\n\n\n\n \n\nCandidates with non-traditional and diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.\n\n \n\nCOVID-19 precautions\n\n\nRemote interview process\n\nVirtual meetings\n\n\n\n\n \n\nOur office is remote during the COVID-19 pandemic, and will reopen once public health officials have determined it is safe to do so. At that time, staff will have the option to work from our Washington, D.C. office, but relocation is not required.\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on previous jobs related to nd Executive jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $100,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nWashington, District of Columbia, United States

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site.
