This person will be editing everything from quick news posts to investigative features to Instagram captions. \n\nThe right person will be open to collaborating with every team at The Verge and have an interest in the areas we cover: technology, science, and entertainment. \n\nWhat youโll do:\n\n\nWork closely with The Vergeโs publishing team to prepare written and video content for publication.\n\nCopy edit a wide variety of stories from a large team of editors, reporters, and freelancers.\n\nCopy edit video graphics, captions, podcast transcripts, and social media copy in conjunction with The Verge's video and engagement teams.\n\nIdentify grammar and style issues as they arise both on- and off-platform, and ensure guidelines and expectations are clearly communicated to writers.\n\nAct as a point of reference for any style or grammar inquiries.\n\nCollaborate with editors on staff to update and maintain the comprehensive internal style guide.\n\nRemain up to speed on current language/industry trends as they pertain to The Vergeโs voice.\n\n\n\n\nWhat youโll bring:\n\n\nAt least one to two years of experience in copy editing\n\nFamiliarity with AP style\n\nAn interest in consumer tech, US policy, internet culture, entertainment, or science is a plus\n\nWeโd be especially interested in speaking to candidates with a background in fact-checking\n\n\n\n\n*This role is a part of the Vox Media Union, represented by the Writers Guild of America, East.\n\nAbout working at Vox Media:\n\nThis is a permanent, full-time position with excellent benefitsโincluding flexible hours and generous parental leave.
