CompanyCam is hiring a Remote Senior Mobile Engineer
* * ***The Role\n\nWeโre looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solvingย Senior Mobile Developerย to join our engineering team.\n\nAs aย Senior Mobile Developer, youโll work alongside other engineers, designers, and product managers to tackle everything from huge company initiatives to modest but important bug fixes,ย from start to finish. Youโll also collaborate with your product team on discovery, helping to assess the direction and feasibility of product changes. And, perhaps most importantly, youโll actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team.\n\n***Working At CompanyCam\n\nOur engineering team is remote-first, spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really don't care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that you're **not an a**hole **and you're good at what you do.\n\nOur Product and Engineering departments also do things a little differently.\n\nWe use a customized version of Basecampโsย Shape Upย method (fused with empowered product teams a la Marty Cagan'sย Inspired) to organize and execute our work.ย That means youโll work in a close-knit team consisting of a product manager, a product designer, and other engineers on an area of the product in 3-week cycles.\n\nDuring cycles you'll spendย mostย of your timeย implementingย product improvements, but you'll also work withย yourย team shaping (generating and vetting) product improvements for next cycle. After each cycle your team will stop, reset, and decide to tackle another cycle or take a 1-3 week cool-down (a period of undirected work where youโll pursue educational opportunities, work on pet projects, or smash some bugs that have been nagging at you). Rinse and repeat until code nirvana.\n\nSounds nice, right?ย No sprinting, no scrumming, no death by 1,000 meetings. We protect our engineers' time, treat them like adults, and trust them to get their work done. Weโre also big on not overworking people. Put in your eight hours of focused, quality work and then TURN. SLACK. OFF.ย No nights and weekends.\n\nOur larger company culture is also refreshingly chill. We have fun, learn from each other, and donโt take ourselves too seriously.\n\nWe cover the important stuff too. Weย pay well,ย offerย unlimited vacation,ย meaningful equity,ย health insurance, and other benefits.\n\nWhat We Ask Of You\n\nMust-haves\nThese are our non-negotiables:\n\nShow up: give us your best andย have the courage to do difficult but necessary stuff.\nGrow up: take responsibility, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.\nDo good: treat your co-workers and customers the way you want to be treated.\nStrong experience with and knowledge ofย React Native orย native iOS or Android experience paired with someย Reactย experience.\n5 or more years of experience working as a professional mobile developer. (Not all years of experience are created equal, so this one isn't set in stone, but for the sake of transparency, we've yet to come across someone with less than 5 years of experience that we would consider a senior developer.)\nReside permanently and currently somewhere in the U.S.ย Alas, we're not set up to hire outside of the U.S.\n\nNice-to-haves\nDay to day, youโll spend 90%+ of your time working in React Native, but, of course, thatโs not all youโll work with. While experience with the following technologies are not required (weโre cool with some on-the-job learning), you will see them with varying levels of frequency:\n\nReact (often)\nGraphQL & REST (often)\nApollo & Redux (often)\nAndroid Studio & Xcode (mainly to run the mobile app)\nJava & Objective-C (approaching rarely, but we do have some native modules)\nRuby on Rails (just a touch)\n\n\nThis position can be U.S. Remote or in our Lincoln office. Plenty of remote experience is required if you plan on working remotely. We are not accepting applicants outside the U.S. at this time. \n\nPlease mention the word **EXTOLL** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjIxLjIzNS4yMDk=). When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site.
