\nBased in the Philadelphia area, Pinnacle 21 is a leader in clinical trial data software and services. Our vision is a clean data pipeline that ends in a successful regulatory submission. We're an established startup that builds software to streamline the drug approval process, bringing life-saving medicines to patients faster. Pinnacle 21 is a certified Great Place to Work, and we're looking for motivated talent. Come help us revolutionize clinical trials and streamline the drug approval process.\n\nWork that matters | When good drugs get delayed to the market, it’s not just money that’s wasted. Every day we save gives that many more patients longer, healthier lives.\n\nWork autonomously | Enjoy the freedom to develop your talents without being micromanaged. We’ll support you as you add to your skillset and grow to own multiple projects\n\nGlobal footprint | We serve a diverse community of users from around the world. Our software is the industry standard for preparing clinical trial data for regulatory submission.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nOver the next year, one of our team’s highest priority projects is building a design system for our enterprise products. Design-wise we have taken the inventory and identified design patterns. Now we need to take our pattern library to the next level, this is where you enter. It’s challenging because we use React, Scala, and Twirl templates to render the final HTML. Also, our product uses Bootstrap 3 and 4 for styling.\n\nYou will be part of a core team who will research and identify front-end code patterns. You will help decide the best way to upgrade the rest of the product’s stylesheets to Bootstrap 4. You’ll build a living design system for the entire company to reference along with being a key point of contact.\n\nYou will play a leading role in the design system strategy and its tactical implementation. This is our first time doing this and we are looking for someone who has vast experience to share. Wait there’s more.\n\nYou will contribute valuable insight with the Product team to shape the design experience for our products. You’ll write code with software engineers to execute the experience in our products. You will recommend and execute micro-interactions and advocate for accessibility standards.\n\nIn return, you will learn a ton about the unique challenges we have in the life science industry. Your contributions will help bring medicines, like the Covid-19 vaccines, to the public faster. Not to mention you will work alongside an incredibly talented team of product managers, designers, and developers.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\n\n\n* Someone who did not skip over the “What You will be doing” section\n\n* Experience rolling out a design system for internal departments to reference\n\n* Experience writing with CSS preprocessors leveraging variables and writing mixins, partials, and functions\n\n* We use Sass but we like comparable experiences too\n\n* Experience coding for a global audience with a wide variety of accessibility needs and challenges\n\n* Knowledge of software engineering practices and tools\n\n* We follow the ShapeUp methodology and use Atlassian products, but we like comparable experience too\n\n* Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles to effectively communicate with designers\n\n* Empathetic observations to communicate with the product team as advocates for both the user and the engineering team\n\n\n\n\nA bit about us\n\nAs clinical trial data are collected and prepared for submission to a health authority, our platform ensures they comply with data standards and are ready for regulatory review. It's used by the FDA, Japan’s PMDA, and global biopharmaceutical sponsors and clinical research organizations to validate clinical trial data. We empower the life sciences industry to ensure clinical data quality or “fitness,” enabling fast and smooth marketing approvals. In fact, it's our platform that drives the FDA’s 21st Century Review Initiative.\n\nInclude with your submission\n\nIn 250 words or less, tell us about the UX project you are most proud of. Please email to [email protected] separately from your LinkedIn application. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
