Join us and help make Government better. CityBase is seeking experienced developers who know or are excited to learn Elixir and contribute to delivering government and utility services and information to people all across the US.\nWe use Jira for managing stories and bugs that we address in 2-week sprints (scrum-style agile). Engineers are encouraged to limit in-progress work to one card each where possible. Pairing is optional and supported, but weโve found that most developers prefer collaborating in design and through the review process and working independently in the code.\n\nEmployees are currently working remotely and have our complete support if they want to make this arrangement permanent. Applications are currently open to developers living in the US.\n\nResponsibilities:\n- Design, build, test, deploy and maintain applications for the delivery of digital services and payments\n- Contribute to the evolution of the platform through strong architectural design\n- Develop standards, tools, processes, libraries, and frameworks that facilitate the development of reliable, secure, performant, and consistent services\n- Identify and resolve issues related to scalability and performance\n- Coach and mentor less experienced developers on the team\n\nRequirements:\n- 3+ years of professional software development experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.\n- An appreciation of functional programming and a strong desire to become an expert Elixir programmer\n- Experience working with relational databases at scale\n- Excellent oral and written communication skills\n- Demonstrated ability to document system architecture\n- Strong preference to succeed as a member of a team\n\nNice to have:\n- Understanding of the challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed systems and strategies for managing them\n- Deep knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns\n- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and services\n- Experience with GraphQL\n- Familiarity with Linux, Git, Docker, and AWS\n- Demonstrated professional experience with Elixir and Ruby\n\nBenefits:\n- Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance\n- 401(k) (no matching yet, but weโre working on it)\n- Flexible vacation policy\n- Paid parental leave\n- Flexible spending account and dependent flexible spending account\n- Pre-tax commuter program\n- Short and long term disability and life insurance\n- Fitness membership stipend \n\nPlease mention the words **BRIGHT VIRUS PIPE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RNDQuMjAzLjU4LjEzMg==).
