\nJob description\nThe Team Lead will be a core contributor to our software development team. He or she is a hands-on technical manager with responsibilities in the areas of software development, technical leadership, and management of direct reports.\nManagement Responsibilities:\n* Manage a team of developers (2-7) including the full range of management responsibilities (i.e. hiring, terminations, time off, performance improvement plans, career development, onboarding, one-on-ones, and reviews).\n* Day-to-day execution of executive vision within his/her areas of responsibility (i.e. upward communication regarding needs, status, and follow-through).\n* Manage daily scrums and sprint planning for his/her teams and components.\n* Mentoring team members.\n\n\nTechnical Leadership Responsibilities:\n* Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance over one or more subject areas.\n* Code reviews.\n\n\nEngineering Responsibilities:\n* Enhance and maintain our applications with high-quality code contributing across the full stack.\n* Enhance and use our growing DevOps platform within AWS.\n* Contribute to the architecture of our product line.\n* Ensure code contributions meet our standards for quality and stability through testing.\n* Stay up to date on emerging technologies and best practices.\n* Clearly communicate ideas and expectations.\n* Research and development of new technologies.\n\n\nQualifications:\nMinimum:\n* Demonstrated experience managing people.\n* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,\n* Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.\n* A minimum of 6 years of full-time software development experience.\n* Extensive experience with preferably both JavaScript and Python.\n* Experience with ReactJS, Redux, or Django.\n* Demonstrated experience with design patterns.\n* Experience with core AWS services.\n* In-depth knowledge of relational databases.\n* The ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.\n* The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.\n\n\nNice to have:\n* Experience with computer vision\n* Experience with OpenCV, Skimage, or Rasterio\n* Experience with Docker\n* Experience with GIS\n* Experience in applied machine learning or artificial intelligence.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
