\nSociety for Science & the Public (SSP) is looking for an energetic and innovative full-time Drupal Developer who is well experienced with selection and use of a wide range of Drupal modules, able to extend existing modules or write new modules from scratch, able to theme using best-practice techniques, and is experienced with tools in LAMP environments.\n\nYou will be working with new and emerging technologies for online engagement and support integration with the Drupal CMS. The ideal candidate will have the ability to self-manage and work quickly, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with a close attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years full-time Drupal development experience, including module selection, module development and theming using Drupal 7.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\n•Construct conceptual and technical designs that include the use of Object-Oriented (OO) techniques\n•Write PHP code based on requirements defined\n•Develop Object-Oriented (OO) code and/or provide maintenance and enhancements to existing code based upon a solid understanding of OO design\n•Work with business users to gather requirements, write functional and technical specifications\n•Conduct multiple levels of testing including unit, system, integration and performance\n•Estimate and plan iterative/agile releases\n•Configure Drupal and create custom modules to meet requirements\n•Design, develop, and test an overall solution that includes a content management system (CMS), including capabilities such as social collaboration, analytics, CMS content entry, CMS content migration, explicit/implicit personalization, developing content types or content objects, site architecture, and page templates\n•Estimate and plan releases for a CMS implementation\n•Anticipate issues and risks at the module level and escalate appropriately\n\nTo learn more about Society for Science & the Public, please visit www.societyforscience.org\n\nThis is a full-time position.\n\nSSP is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer\n\nSSP is committed to equal employment opportunity.
