๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.

# Front-end Web Developer\nWe are seeking a Front-End Web Developer to fill the specialized role of Experiment Engineer. An Experiment Engineer manufactures HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript code to run on top of client websites that alters the experience of the site in an effort to improve the conversion rates of key performance metrics. They are comfortable working across a variety of different front-end frameworks and libraries as well as APIs. They must also be comfortable working to validate concepts by choosing the cheapest route to MVP versus over-engineering any particular task. They are familiar with CRO platforms such as Optimizely, Convert, VWO, and Google Optimize.\n\n**Responsibilities include:**\n\n* Develops efficient and robust experimentation code using HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript which is injected on top of existing client sites via experimentation software such as Optimizely, Convert, and VWO.\n* Engages as a technical consultant, providing web development expertise and insights, on internal and client-facing video calls. \n* Communicates thoroughly and sets clear expectations with Project Managers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and clients.\n* Offers ideas and provides feedback to help grow and scale Cro Metrics as a business.\n\n**Qualifications & Experience:**\n\nThis is a high communication role, and while no specific experience is required, you must be capable of learning new technical concepts quickly, regularly, and be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\n* 2+ years of experience writing HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript in a professional environment.\n* Critical thinking โ€” You can analyze a problem, craft a solution, and love iterating on your own processes. Every experiment is unique and has a different set of challenges so we often find ourselves in uncharted waters.\n* Attention to detail โ€” You have high attention to visual detail, can interpret specifications, can communicate detailed instructions, and leave no edge case unattended.\n* Updates internal documentation to help ensure site caveats and learnings are available and disseminated to peers.\n* Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, calendars, spreadsheets, etc).\n\n**Nice-to-haves:**\n\n* Experience with A/B/n tests or with leading testing platforms such as Optimizely, Convert, VWO, etc.\n* Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Zoom.\n* Has worked in professionally in eCommerce or web-development, especially modern frameworks (Shopify, WordPress, etc.) and libraries (React, Angular, etc).\n* Computer Science degree or professional experience in back-end development.\n* Experience working fully remotely.\n* Knowledge of User Experience concepts.\n* Knowledge of Agile concepts.\n* Agency experience.\n\n**Our Hiring Process**\n\nWeโ€™re glad youโ€™re interested in working with us. We have a fairly unusual hiring process, but it has proven to work well both for us and for potential new hires. We have found that demonstrating basic competency is the best predictor of initial qualification for working with us, followed by actual work.\n\nOur process reflects that: below, we outline our values and how we work, and then ask you to complete a small task. Assuming we like your response, we will hire you for a โ€œpaid interviewโ€ where you start working with us for a small number of hours each week. If both parties like working together, we expand the relationship. If not, we go our separate ways and both sides โ€œwonโ€ in the deal!\n\nIf you have questions as you go through this, make notes and if we havenโ€™t answered them by the end, feel free to email [email protected] or [email protected]. \n\n**Company Benefits**\n\n* 100% remote, continue to work from where you are based\n* Health insurance reimbursement allowance\n* Retirement plan with 4% company match (subject to a 3 month waiting period)\n* Professional gear (e.g. MacBook, monitor, and noise-canceling headset)\n* Annual All Hands trips\n* Paid Parental Leave\n* Liberal vacation policy\n* Access to group performance coaching sessions\n\n**Our Culture**\n\n* **Remote has always been our thing.** Weโ€™ve been fully remote since 2010, so unlike companies that have been remote since March of 2020, we designed our company and culture behind the principles of high-performing remote teams. Weโ€™ve always believed remote is the future of work, and much like the experimentation we do, have iterated a lot along the way in a persistent effort to get it right.\n* **Weโ€™re a remote company.** We are spread out all over the country. Daytime availability is required for syncing with the team via Slack or Zoom, but Experiment Engineers enjoy all the flexibility remote working has to offer. Want to go on a mountain bike ride in the middle of the day? Cool, donโ€™t forget your helmet! Need to pick the kids up from school? Nice, youโ€™ve got parent of the year in the bag. We stay connected through both synchronous and asynchronous communications.\n* **We value elegant code as much as you do, but we move fast.** Weโ€™re writing code that runs on top of existing websites. Some tests only run for a few days before disappearing (though some do so well they become a permanent part of the clientโ€™s site). There will be polling patterns and liberal use of !important.\n* **Again, weโ€™re a remote company.** That makes communication โ€” including writing and reading comprehension โ€” extremely important. This is not a simple โ€œpull tickets and give sign offโ€ gig. Successful applicants enjoy collaborating across teams, defining and clarifying needs, documenting processes, improving processes, and uploading custom emoji to Slack.\n\nYou can read more about our [culture and values here](https://crometrics.com/culture/) or [learn more about the team](https://crometrics.com/meet-the-team/).\n\n**Our Stack**\n\n* **Email/Calendar:** GSuite\n* **CRO Platforms:** Optimizely, VWO, Google Optimize, Convert, AB Tasty\n* **IDE:** Your choice. Most of our folks use VSCode.\n* **Messaging App:** Slack\n* **Video Chat:** Zoom\n* **Task Management:** Jira \n* **Documentation:** Confluence\n* **Code Repository:** GitHub\n* **Time Tracking Software:** Harvest\n* **Design Prototyping Software:** Figma \n\nAt Cro Metrics, our goal is to create a remote environment that celebrates the differences that make us, us. We strive to create an inclusive and equitable space, but we realize we donโ€™t always get it right. Weโ€™re continually working together to create mutual respect and opportunities to learn from one another and we encourage people of color, women, individuals with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals to apply.\n\nWeโ€™re looking for team members located in the U.S. regardless of race, ethnicity, age, national origin, marital status, parental status, veteran status, citizenship status, gender, gender-identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, genetic information, and any other protected or unprotected class we may have missed. (BONUS: Did we miss anyone? Let us know and weโ€™ll add it here.)\n \n\nPlease mention the words **GAZE AWFUL EMOTION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNDM=). \nFull Stack JavaScript Software Engineer\n\nWhy IDS?\n\nToday’s virtual training environments are segmented and simplistic—the opposite of the real-world’s complex and integrated cyber battlefield. When even the most subtle input can influence every other facet of an operation, the one-dimensional training provided to our armed forces is not only outdated, it flat-out fails to equip them to outpace the operational tempo of the rapidly-evolving multi-domain battlefield. In the virtual arena, new threats emerge every day. IDS provides the tools for warfighters and cyber operators not just to prepare for them, but to anticipate the risks and to be ready for them when they arrive.\n\nSocial Media Environment and Internet Replication (SMEIR™), a product of IDS International Government Services, is a digital training solution that provides a full-range, free-play, immersive, realistic and scalable operational practice environment in which warfighters simultaneously train on full-spectrum cyberspace operations and social media analytics during integrated and multi-dimensional exercises.\n\nIDS International is seeking a Mid to Senior level Full Stack JavaScript Software Engineer to join our growing team and build out the next generation of our internet simulation platform, called SMEIR. The Software Engineer will replicate various websites and social media platforms that will be used for cyber-training exercises. IDSI’s engineering team uses a modified Scrum/Agile process. Candidate must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. IDSI uses Slack, Jira and Git for project and software management. Our main office is in Arlington, VA with remote opportunities available for the right candidate.   \n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* Use software development languages including Javascript, Node.js, SQL and tools to write, edit, maintain, and test computer software as part of a synthetic cyberspace training environment.\n\n* Follow the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to plan, design, build, test, and deploy software applications, ranging from websites and mobile applications to web applications, video games, and back end API architecture.\n\n* In addition to creating new software, improve and maintain the working order of existing software.\n\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n\n* Minimum 3 years professional experience with:\n\n\n* JavaScript (ECMA)\n\n* Node.js\n\n* HTML5/CSS3\n\n* Building and using RESTful APIs\n\n* Git\n\n* Familiarity with Microservice Architecture.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Minimum of 5 years of professional, related experience.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\n* Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.\n\n* Experience with:\n\n\n* Meteor.js\n\n* MongoDB\n\n* React.js\n\n* Docker\n\n* Kubernetes\n\n\n\n\n\n* Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.\n\n* Dev/Ops Experience with Linux, BASH, Python.\n\n\n\n\nIDS’s competitive benefit package starts you off out on the right foot. Eligibility begins day one.\n\n\n* Health and Well-being - 100% of employee medical and other insurance premiums are paid by IDS.\n\n* Financial Future – 401(k) with an industry leading match and no waiting period. You are fully vested in all contributions from the start.\n\n* Paid Leave - Generous time off accruals for you to take paid leave, totaling five weeks.\n\n* Professional Development – networking opportunities, informal mentoring, education reimbursement and access to thousands of online professional development resources.\n\n* Casual, fun, and supportive work environment with all the tools and amenities you need to thrive.\n\n\n\n\nMust be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing. Most positions require ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time. Computer activities include reading, reviewing and analyzing information, as well as providing recommendations, summaries, and reports in written or verbal format. Additionally, positions require ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; as well as speak and hear.\n\nEmployee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.\n\nQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by federal, state, and local law.\n\nIf you are unable to apply through the portal and need to speak to someone about necessary accommodations to apply, please email [email protected] and we will follow up with you. \nABOUT ROOSTERMONEY:\nRoosterMoney is a pocket money & allowance tracking app that helps parents teach their kids the value of money in a digital age. Simple, progressive and gameful, we bring to life all the sound traditional financial principles we were brought up with (or wish we were!) and make managing money smart, fun & relevant for the modern world.\nWe believe the world would be a better place if we all talked about money a little earlier on in life. Research shows that our money habits are formed by the age of seven. Thats a pretty amazing opportunity to help give kids a head-start in building habits that will stick with them for life.\n\n \nWHY ROOSTERMONEY?RoosterMoney has been featured in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian, FT, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Australian Herald to name a few. Hundreds of thousands of families have downloaded the RoosterMoney app since our launch in January 2016. We are looking for a talented and motivated senior UI developer to join our team to help us achieve even more amazing things. We have a generous share option scheme and youll be joining us as we expand across a number of new territories. \n\n\nTHE ROLE:\nWe're looking for a software developer who has held mid-senior positions on front-end engineering teams, who will operate with a high level of autonomy. \nYou will be developing our core RoosterMoney app and working across the platform as a whole within our small but growing product team (currently 8), building an application that is used by families around the world. You have a passion for UX and UI, best practice development and building a product that delights users on a daily basis, taking pride in shipping quality code that is easy to test, maintain and build on. You care deeply about building applications with well thought out architecture.\n\n\n Aside from developing front-end applications, we expect you will also become involved with ops and back-end work with our Node APIs where required.\n\n\nWe are a small team so its important that the successful candidate isnt just technically highly competent but is a good cultural fit. We run daily stand-ups, two week sprint cycles, retrospectives and utilise Slack for Chat and Jira for ticket and stream management. We use video calls to stay in contact and monthly all team meetings (State of the Rooster). We gather together every quarter for All Hands to celebrate successes, share ideas and plan for the next quarter of hustle.\n\n\nApply if you want to:\n * Work closely with a small group of determined, like-minded people to reshape the way families talk and engage with money around the world.\n * Play a critical role in the design and development of our app.\n * Ship and take ownership of impactful new features and functionality.\n * Develop robust deployment and testing processes \n * Share your knowledge and passion with the rest of the team in making the app best in class.\n \n\n\nBenefits\n\nIn addition to a competitive salary:\n \n * Work with a fun, passionate team building something awesome.\n * 25 days holiday\n * Pension Scheme\n * Employee Option Scheme so you can benefit for all the input you put into the company.\n * We will consider remote working for this role so long as you can spend up to 20% of your time in our London Bridge Hub office. We run a Remote working structure as a team (we currently have team members in London, Bristol and Stoke in the UK and Barcelona, Spain) so time zone variance (and travel distance) has to be sensible. \n \n\n\n\nWe can't offer visa sponsorship at this time. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to JavaScript, Design, Developer, Digital Nomad, Jira, Video, Scheme, Node, Travel and Senior jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n

Description\n\nWe are a cutting edge team working with startups and big companies. We are helping create complex applications and web solutions. Those applications might be challenging, as they are the core of our customerโ€™s business, but with our help anything is possible. We use JIRA and do sprints with Aurity team members and customers. You will work remotely from home, or place that suits you best. You will decide yourself when you want to start and finish your working day as long as you are on top of your job and participate in crucial meetings. Remote work will help you create better work-life balance, give more freedom and save time usually wasted on daily commute to work. We regularly talk and support each other via Skype, Zoom and other apps. Inside the company, we use Slack, Jira, Asana, and plenty of Google Tools.\n\nRequirements\nWorking in Aurity is great if you like to keep on learning, using latest tools and technologies. Right now we focus on React, React Native, Relay, Redux and GraphQL. We are looking for keen to work, talented and professional developers seeking a new challenge with at least 6 months of experience in React to feel comfortable. Involvement in remote work is also very important, as this is different from a traditional job in the office. If you will have any difficulties we are always ready to help. Effective teamwork is an important aspect of our company. \n\nBenefits\nOf course, there are other attractions, like #hackerhouse that we arrange every 6-8 months. You can join the team there, have some fun and work (we make sure, the internet connection is very good). You will also have an opportunity to join internal workshops. \nIf you know something cool, that others might want to learn, you could also lead one of them. We are open for new projects and happy to help reach your goals. \nJust check out our video from latest trip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw_zZ40gGUE\n\nIf you think we share similar values and mindset, you are most welcome to apply and become part of our team.\n\nLeave us a message and become one of us. https://aurity.workable.com/j/4F689A50CA\n \n\nPlease mention the words **FLOWER COPY CHIEF** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNDM=).
