We make elegant iOS-based photo booths connected to peripherals like printers, DSLR cameras, and LEDs. It's all powered on the backend by a Node.js API, MongoDB database, and several microservices (also written in Node).

There are about 15 of us on the development team, and we work collaboratively with project and product management to build software that's so good that our clients don't even notice it exists. We need your help building a new version of our software that uses modern best practices and includes app support for some fun new projects coming up in the next year or two.
You'd be working in a collaborative, remote-first environment, but we respect the need for independent and heads-down deep work, so we don't have a lot of meetings or bureaucracy. What You'll Work On
The app you'd be working on is a hybrid iOS app written in Swift and React Native. You'd be exposed to React Native, but it's not a requirement to apply.
Our software supports our photobooths, including lots of really fun features to make the experience fresh for guests. That means we use AR technology, process and save photos and videos (without a guaranteed internet connection), all packaged up in a nicely animated and easy-to-use interface. This isn't your run-of-the-mill app, and you'll have a chance to deep dive into some difficult technical problems, as well as make a meaningful impact on the millions of people who've recorded memories with our software.
Responsibilities
Build great software and make our clients super happy!

Make recommendations (and implement them!) for how to improve overall software quality.
Integrate with our photobooth hardware: cameras, LEDs, and custom firmware we've built.
Integrate with 1st-party products and services such as our API and other microservices.
Process photos and videos in realtime, fast!
Augmented Reality (AR), face recognition, filters and effects, hand gestures, animations
Dive into difficult technical problems and collaborate with others on the team to decide and record on decisions (example: how could you share a large video with other people at a wedding where there's no internet access?)
Requirements
Most importantly, you MUST be kind, respectful, and thoughtful. Strong opinions are very welcome. Jerks are not.
Secondly, you must be willing to work in the context of a team. Yes, many of your deliverables will be due to heads-down programming, but you can't work in a vacuum or ivory tower.
Hands-on work experience as a senior-level iOS developer.
Track record of building high-quality, battle-tested software.
Experience integrating with APIs, preferably at a SaaS company.
Experience with all the basics: version control, CI, agile development, communication tools like Slack, etc
We are a remote-first company, but you need several hours of overlap with Pacific Time so you can collaborate synchronously with the team. You will need to confirm that you reside within GMT-8 to GMT-3.

Overview

To continue our growth we’re seeking a Senior Flutter Engineer located in London or Auckland. To excel in this role and have a positive impact on our customer success, you’ll need strong production experience with Flutter (preferably e-commerce), and a glowing track record building delightful mobile experiences. We have a separate backend team and Basket is already live in production, so your key focus will be scoping and building new features, and maintaining a kickass Flutter codebase for mobile. Some native work will be required in addition to Flutter, so experience with either Swift or Kotlin is essential.

About You
Native English is essential
Located in, or willing to relocate to London or Auckland

Mastery of Flutter and Dart with at least one published app on iOS (App Store Connect) or Android (Play Store)
Excellent knowledge and experience of using Firebase SDK with Flutter
Experience integrating and using third-party packages with Flutter, iOS and Android

What is the job?
Would you get excited building native iOS applications from the ground up, through to release onto the app store? How about if those applications were genuine industry firsts? If so, joining our RDX family might be right for you.
You will join a small app development team, helping drive the greenfield build of the first mobile wallet that will define the future of decentralized finance (DeFi).
Collaborating with the team, you will absorb the research, design, and user testing which has taken place over the last year, and then get cracking on converting Figma to code alongside a top-notch team of developers and designers. You’ll have a great deal of input on shaping the ultimate design as implementation marches along to our first release, and then to apply everything you’ve learned on shaping the next release.
RDX Works is in the midst of a complete rethink of what the DeFi user experience ought to be, and we need an iOS Guru to drive the development & delivery of a world-beating product that will define the future of decentralized finance (DeFi).
What are we looking for?
You have been a big part of several consumer-facing iOS applications which made it to production.
You are a confident coder, and you enjoy working in Swift.
You’re comfortable working without a net. Some of the concepts we’re implementing are world firsts, and there’s no prior art to fall back on or Stack Overflow posts to trawl for help.
You are intelligent and learn quickly.
You enjoy a good design debate and can keep an open mind to ideas which go against your own notion of how a problem should be solved.
What do you need?
Demonstrable experience as a professional software developer. This includes time spent in iOS development experience - must have published apps to the app store!
Experience using Swift & SwiftUI
