HockeyStack is hiring a Remote Senior Frontend Engineer
HockeyStack is an analytics and attribution tool for B2B SaaS. It collects and helps analyze data from all parts of the SaaS customer journey - marketing, sales, and product engagement. Our goal is to make tracking and gaining insights from all this data easier and faster.
We launched the final iteration of the product last year. We are now scaling our product and building out new features.
Technical Expectations
As a frontend-focused engineer, your first project will be to migrate our current frontend (Pug + JS + CSS) to React. So you should know both by heart.
But we also expect you to:
Have an eye for sleek and pixel-perfect design (ex. Linear, Notion, Stripe)
Have enough Figma skills to design what you think
Think about the UX of our platform
...and actually execute these ideas in code
We want to make B2B analytics as accessible as possible but also have a cool product to show off ;) You will work directly with the founders to make HockeyStack the coolest product on the market.
Non-technical Expectations
Excellent communication skills (English) is a must.
We aren’t looking for someone with 20 years of experience, we are looking for smart people who are up for a challenge.
You should have experience with at least a CRM, an analytics tool, or a MarTech tool of some kind.
Your ideas will set the course of the product, so you should have some context on this industry beforehand.
This also means that your role within the company is bound to grow and gain importance over time.

About the project As a member of the product team you will be an integral part of the continuous evolution of our core platform. The product is a multi-tenant solution build on modern architectural principles (EDA), running on components from Azure. As a Front-end Developer you will:
Implement interfaces and features for our web application and occasionally client projects with React
Work on our internal design system and component library
Introduce and explain your technical choices and know-how to your team members
Perform and take part in code reviews with other developers
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a front-end developer
Expert-level knowledge of HTML and CSS
Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript
Experience with TypeScript
Extensive experience with React and the ecosystem around it
Experience in Unit & Integration testing for React applications
Bonus points:
Experience with building design systems and/or component libraries.
Passion for good design and aesthetics
Good understanding of web accessibility. Experience with assistive technology testing is a big plus

Relevant Experience:
Mastery of all things Shopify, including app installation and configuration, adding custom functionality, server configuration, and custom app integration construction - Shopify 1.0 & 2.0 (ThemeKit & Shopify CLI)
A wide breadth of knowledge regarding standards-compliant HTML | CSS & Javascript - Including responsive design techniques, performance implications of CSS / CSS Animations & JavaScript.
Experience leading a development team of 4 or more people, demonstrating strong communication skills.
Knowledge of React.js is highly preferred.
Knowledge of BigCommerce is highly preferred.
Application of modern CSS concepts such as Grid CSS and Flexbox.
Background in software engineering, object-oriented programming, database management, preferably on a LAMP stack.
Ability to develop for a myriad of devices with differing screen sizes and resolutions.
Understanding of web standards and accessibility, and experience building stateful web applications with client-side technologies.
Experience using Git for version control.
Experience integrating with external web services, like SOAP, REST, or Graph QL APIs, is recommended.
Comfort using software development management tools like the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) or a similar set of applications.
Credentials:
Success as a Tech Lead at Trellis requires a mastery of JIRA and Shopify. As such, we’re looking for candidates who either already possesses or could obtain both their “JIRA Essentials” certification and “Shopify Theme Developer” certification within the first three months of their time at Trellis. Given the importance we place on this, we cover all costs related to training and the certification as well as offer a bonus upon obtaining the certification. While not required, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study is preferred.

About the Job
As an engineer at Passage you’ll join our small team of two other developers in building one of the most feature rich and user friendly event ticketing platforms in the industry. Your day-to-day may consist of fixing bugs, updating user interfaces and performance tuning PostgreSQL database calls. However, you’ll probably spend most of your time building exciting new features. We pride ourselves on how quickly we’re able to ship awesome new functionality for our clients. We try to do things “The Rails Way.” While we got sucked into the React world several years back, these days we prefer to render HTML on the server. Any front-end interaction we need comes from StimulusJS, StimulusReflex, and CableReady via ActionCable. We're also planing on utilizing Hotwire where applicable. As an Engineer at Passage, we aren't just focused on getting a task done as quickly as possible but rather we are always thinking ahead. We're not programmers, we solve problems. We are a small team, and while we have leadership in place, we like to keep things flat. Your opinion is just as valuable as the CTO’s.
About You
We’re looking for someone who not only loves software development, but is particularly passionate about Ruby on Rails. This is most definitely a “full stack” position and you should be comfortable with everything from the PaaS providers, to the database to CSS, to writing tests.
You prefer to work smarter rather than harder. Self management is a must-have trait at Passage. You’ll have the full support of our entire team and all the tools you need to be successful, but no one is going to look over your shoulder or hold your hand through every project. We value results, not whether you’re at your desk from 9-5 with your eyes glued to your computer. You might have a CS degree and that is great, but that isn’t necessarily an edge over someone without. We care about the work you do and how you do it.
Our engineering team is remote first. We have office space in Detroit that you’re welcome to use if you live in the area, but even folks in the office operate as if they were remote. You should be very comfortable communicating and working via tools like Asana, Slack and Github. While we are fully remote and we try to operate as asynchronously as possible, we require at least 4 hours overlap of your workday with 9am - 5pm US Eastern Time.
