The SaaS platform is already being used by 300+ local governments and organizations in over 18 countries, facilitating two-way communication between governments and their residents. Since it was founded in 2015, CitizenLab has given 750,000+ community members a direct voice in local politics, has earned recognition as the 'Best Social Impact Startup in Europe', and was featured in outlets such as The New York Times and Forbes.\n\nCitizenLab is looking for purpose-driven talent to join us on our mission to enable millions of people in cities across the globe to shape the future of their communities.\n\n**Product Manager at CitizenLab**\n\nAs Product Manager of the Engagement Squad, you will focus on scaling our core product. You will work in a cross-functional squad with a crystal-clear mission: enable cities around the world to engage an ever-growing and diverse group of citizens via our digital participation platform and an excellent user experience. You are the link between our customers, citizens and the business on one side, and the engagement squad on the other side.\n\nYour responsibilities:\n\n* You identify, research, and trade off product opportunities that contribute to reaching our business objectives. You respond to emerging needs and requests, helping those around you to understand the value and trade-offs.\n\n* You contribute a deep knowledge of our business context to the squad and a thorough understanding of our users and customers. You keep up to speed with market trends and our competitors.\n\n* You collaborate closely with the product designer and engineers on your squad to discover effective solutions, and then work together to roll out the features to production. Day-to-day, we work with local government leaders across the world to help them connect with their communities.\n\n* Become a key factor in our rapid transition from a startup to a scaleup (50 employees), and our international expansion.\n\n* Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive environment. We share a participatory culture of autonomy and ownership by everyone, not only by leadership.\n\n* Be part of our dynamic, international team. We are as serious about our work in digital democracy as we are about having fun on our journey together.\n\n* Enjoy an informal work vibe with open communication and full transparency on results.\n\n* Participate in our various hybrid (in-person/remote) team events, inspiring team lunches, our company book club, bi-quarterly strategic town halls, and yearly global team retreats.\n\n* Spend 10% of your time on personal projects and self-development for the long run. We’re committed to both collective and individual growth.\n\n* Receive a competitive salary package, incl. perks such as 26 paid holidays, a professional development budget, a collective bonus plan, your own laptop, full flexibility on working from home, and much more.\n\n*CitizenLab is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace. As the Tech Lead, you are not only contributing code yourself, but you are also coaching and enabling your squad colleagues to contribute more effectively.\n\nThe small, cross-functional squads consist of a product manager, designer, and 4-5 engineers. We are opening the Tech Lead position on the Engagement and Insights squads. Engagement’s main goal is to build innovative methods for input collection and deliver a seamless participation experience for citizens. Engagement is the squad working on our core product and has a strong focus on our social impact. Once the input is collected, Insights will make the data actionable for policy-makers and help them better inform their public decisions. Insights builds product features to optimally support input processing through natural language processing, and visualise the data insights in a compelling and user-friendly way.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\n* Taking responsibility for the week-to-week planning of the squad, in close collaboration with your engineering colleagues and product manager.\n\n* Guiding the squad through technical specifications and decomposition of tasks.\n\n* Giving feedback to the designer and product manager on feasibility and effort.\n\n* Follow up on feature progress and report to the product manager and CTO.\n\n* Identifying blockers and issues early on, and working together with the squad to prevent them.\n\n* Implementing continuous process improvements to boost developer experience and productivity.\n\n* Acting as a sounding board to developers and helping resolve technical challenges.\n\n* Aligning with the CTO and lead architect on the technical direction of the product.\n\n* Contributing code yourself, when all of the above has been taken care of.\n\nAt CitizenLab, we work in small teams where members collectively take ownership of the outcome of the features they build. We work in very small iterations and release continuously. We’re strong believers in user testing and understanding live product usage.\n\n**What do we expect from you?**\n\n* You have several years of experience in a technical leadership position, preferably in a tech scale-up environment.\n\n* You have a collaborative, empathetic, and participatory leadership style. We are looking for a facilitator and mentor, more than a manager.\n\n* You know Ruby well and have contributed full-stack to user-facing web applications.\n\n* You have some experience with React and Typescript.\n\n* (Only relevant for Insights:) You have dealt with end-to-end complexities of web applications that apply machine learning or big data before as a developer, from the AI models, through the back-end APIs, to the UI. You understand the fundamentals of machine learning and have toyed around with Python.\n\n* You are a great communicator and listener. You enjoy making people around you grow.\n\n* You have a keen interest in contributing to our digital democracy mission through our product and working on the topic of citizen participation.\n\n* Relocating to Brussels is not a must, but would be a big plus. Working in more or less the same time zone (CET) is a must.\n\nEagerness to learn, talent, and enthusiasm are more important than ticking the boxes. Even if not all desired requirements are met, but you're very excited about the role, we want to hear from you.\n\n**What can you expect from us?**\n\n* Unlock your full potential and create social impact at scale. Day-to-day, we work with local government leaders across the world to help them connect with their communities.\n* Become a key factor in our rapid transition from a startup to a scaleup (50 employees), and our international expansion.\n* Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive environment. Stardog is hiring a
Remote Senior Software Engineer Team Lead Front End

Stardog, the leading Enterprise Knowledge Graph platform, turns data into knowledge to power more effective digital transformations. Industry leaders including Bosch, eBay, NASA, and Raytheon use Stardog to create a flexible data layer that can support countless applications. One of _Fast Company's_ prestigious [Most Innovative Companies](https://www.stardog.com/blog/fast-company-names-stardog-7th-most-innovative-enterprise/), Stardog is a fast-growing venture-backed company headquartered in Arlington, VA with a globally distributed team.\n\nThe "Suite" of Stardog front end tools serves as the face of our Platform and is comprised of Stardog Studio and Stardog Explorer. Studio provides an IDE-like experience for developers to execute and debug queries and manage Stardog itself while Explorer provides non-technical users a way to search, browse, and explore their Knowledge Graph. Next up is a new tool that will let architects and other subject matter experts visually design and build their Knowledge Graph from the ground up.\n\nWe're looking for a talented individual to be a new team lead, working closely with the VP Engineering, Product Manager, and the rest of the development team, to help us achieve our vision.\n\nAs a Team Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating the team, conducting 1:1's, managing sprints, mentoring your teammates, conducting performance reviews, etc. But, this is a player/coach role, so you will spend time designing and building new features as well. You should expect to spend a lot of time engineering, maybe even the majority, but the responsibilities of being the lead means you will be in meetings, you will deal with HR, there may even be paperwork. You can expect to spend between 10 and 40% of your time on those responsibilities. Therefore, we expect to see leadership experience on your resume.\n\nOur stack is written with Typescript using React, so we're expecting you to be familiar with those technologies. Bonus points if you're familiar with Node.js, Redux, Cypress, and Webpack. Even more of a bonus if you know Sass, or just have some background in UX and design and are familiar with tools like Figma or Sketch.\n\nNo degree? No problem. Having a piece of paper with some fancy words on it like "Computer Science" is great, but not a requirement. You can be an engineer without an engineering degree. What we're looking for is an experienced engineer, who has guided a team before, to come in, work hard, and be passionate about solving our user's problems. We are looking for real engineering work as well as demonstrable experience and skills in a leadership capacity.\n\nWe are a remote-first company. You should be comfortable with, and have experience working remotely. You must have strong communication skills as much of our interactions will be over email, chat, and PR where it's harder to get your point across. Most of the team is in the EST (UTC-5) time zone, so the closer the time zone alignment, the better.\n\nWe will expect to see code! Don't be shy about sharing your work. You can even [check out](https://github.com/stardog-union/stardog.js) some of [ours](https://github.com/stardog-union/stardog-language-servers).\n\nAnd if you want to see what you'll be working on, check out [Explorer](https://explorer.stardog.com/). If you want to learn about the kinds of scale challenges we're building for, read about our [Trillion Edge graph](https://www.stardog.com/blog/trillion-edge-knowledge-graph/). And If you are curious about what it's like to work here, check out a [post](https://www.stardog.com/labs/blog/5-tips-for-recruiting-startup-engineers/) from our CTO and co-founder that talks about our culture, or read the engineering team's [blog](https://www.stardog.com/labs/blog). \n\nLastly, you'll get great benefits, a yearly continuing education stipend, flexible PTO options, and the ability to work whenever and wherever you prefer.\n\n_Stardog is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Individuals seeking employment at Stardog are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. _ \n\nBe sure to mention the word **DESIRING** when applying to show you read the job post completely. Divvy Homes is hiring a
Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer

Why Divvy?\n\nOver the past decade, millions of Americans have been forced to put their dreams of homeownership on hold. Home prices have outpaced wage growth while mortgage requirements continue to tighten. As a result, renters are missing out on a critical wealth-building opportunity: owning a home.\n\nAt Divvy, we're building an on-ramp to homeownership – one that's more affordable, more flexible, and an overall better fit for the modern American family – and it’s working.\n\nAbout the role\nYou will be able to leverage your creativity and skill set to make homeownership more accessible and equitable. The engineering team builds tools to support our consumer, agent and administrative products. At Divvy, you’ll own some of your projects from start to finish, support your teammates on other projects, and work collectively to scale our platform to thousands of new applicants and multiple new markets. Almost every project will require cross functional collaboration across the entire home buying process. You will work alongside a team of 8 engineers, 2 product managers, 2 data scientists, and about 40 other Divvy employees working on different parts of the business.  \n\nEngineering Opportunities\nBuying thousands of homes a year requires effective and intelligent software. There are several different complex workflows that our software must support and each one presents us with its own unique set of nuances and challenges. Depending on your interests and career objectives, you will work towards solving challenges across three broad domains:\n\n1. Consumer experience - We want to make finding and buying your next home easier than renting. This involves building an intuitive application experience, nurturing the relationship between applicants and agents, recommending homes, and hand-holding the customer through the process.\n\n2. Data Intelligence - Given that we are a financial product, we need to ensure that we are selecting the right candidates into our program (those with a high likelihood of becoming homeowners), and pricing our offering as fairly and accurately as possible. You would work alongside our data-science team to productize models and leverage our datasets to reduce risk and build a more effective product.\n\n3. Scale - Our goal is to buy thousands of homes in the coming years. Buying a home involves considerable complexity, and we want to remove as much human touch from this as possible. We are building systems to automatically underwrite customers, generate competitive offers, thoroughly and thoughtfully inspect homes, support and service our tenants, and much more.\n\nCommitment to Diversity & Inclusion\n\nWe prioritize a commitment to diversity in our team building process. We enthusiastically encourage individuals from a variety of lived experiences to reach out. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on previous jobs related to InfoSec, Engineer and DevOps jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

In this role, you’ll ensure the financial viability of our business by developing our underwriting and/or pricing models. Developing this model will also mean simulating new financial product offerings which match customer needs to Divvy’s capacities.  Day to day, this will include a mix of dataset acquisition, statistical modeling, exploratory data analysis, and software engineering. You’ll report directly to Divvy’s CTO and work alongside a team of 8-10 software engineers and data scientists.\n\nCommitment to Diversity & Inclusion\n\nWe prioritize a commitment to diversity in our team building process.

Viget is hiring a
Remote JavaScript Developer

Viget is a digital agency / software development shop headquartered just outside of Washington, DC, (in Falls Church, VA) with additional offices in Durham, NC, Boulder, CO, and Chattanooga, TN. We've been at it since 1999 and have earned a solid reputation as a rare firm that does both great design and development work when building digital products and marketing platforms.\n\nWe solve interesting problems with code. Ruby and React mostly, but also Python, Elixir, and more.  Our JavaScript developers don’t work in isolation -- they work alongside industry-leading product and project managers, interface and product designers, and front-end and back-end developers to create compelling products and platforms.  At this time, we're hoping to hire a mid-level developer with a few years experience building client-side web applications in a professional setting. \n\nOur teams also collaborate directly with clients that offer great variety -- from major brands like ESPN and Dick’s Sporting Goods to world-changing nonprofits like WWF and WCS to emerging startups and tech leaders like Google.  Viget == variety.\n\nTo get a feel for how we think and what we're learning about, read our tech articles, check out code.viget.com, or jump straight to our projects on Github.\n\nAbout Viget:\n\nViget is an award-winning, full-service digital agency on a mission to build a better digital world. Our team of ambitious, creative, hard-working people are committed to collaborating on challenging, innovative, and meaningful work for inspiring clients like ESPN, AdCouncil, and the World Wildlife Fund. We’re a rare software shop known for prioritizing clean code as much as good design. If you join, you can expect project variety, professional growth, influence on our future (and yours), and teammates who care. More than half our team has been here for 5 years or more — well more than the industry average — which we think is a pretty good success metric. In addition to our collaborative culture, we offer employees competitive compensation and benefits. \n\nHow to Apply:\n\nIntroduce yourself using the form below. Our recruiters, Erica and Margaret, will respond typically within a day or two.  \n\nPlease attach your resume and submit a cover letter discussing why you want to work at Viget, and how your previous experience relates to the position described. Examples of your previous work are also much appreciated. \n\nBefore you get in touch, feel free to learn more about Erica and Margaret on Viget's People Team. You can also get to know us better on Twitter, Flickr, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, and by exploring pointlesscorp.com.\n\nWe maintain a drug-free workplace. We are unable to offer work visa sponsorship at this time.\n\nWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace. In order to meet the diverse needs of our clients and make the digital world better for everyone, we seek to expand the diversity of our team. We encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations and will work with you to meet your needs. If you are a person with a disability and require accommodations or assistance during the application process, please email [email protected]\n\nExperience level: Mid-senior\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on previous jobs related to Executive, Customer Support and Marketing jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $100,000/year\n
