LI.FI is hiring a
Remote Senior Fullstack Engineer

\nJob Description\n\n\nJumper is cryptoโ€™s everything-exchange powered by LI.FI. By building on the sophisticated cross-chain infrastructure of LI.FI, we offer a comprehensive multi-chain experience for any and every person in crypto to move and use their funds across chains as easily and flexibly as they desire.\n\n\nOur vision? We want to make multi-chain DeFi easy and fun!\n\n\nWhile we live under LI.FIโ€™s umbrella, we pride ourselves in our small but excellent and very agile team. Jumper already has over 100k active users, and still we are only now getting started to build it from the ground up. As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer you would be at the core of this new adventure - completely owning the realization of Jumperโ€™s underlying infrastructure and bringing new ideas to life!\n\n\n \n\n\nA quick run-down of the job\n\n\nWe are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our scalable and secure backend infrastructure. This includes the establishment of a completely new backend and a scalable infrastructure for Jumper. Additionally, you will be very hands-on in our frontend and the LI.FI widget integration in order to quickly ship new features. In this role, you are expected to split your work between frontend and backend. In order to move quickly, the emphasis initially will likely be on frontend work during the first few months, with a gradual shift towards backend responsibility over the near-term.\n\n\n \n\n\nWe are a small team, and every one of our engineers is expected to strongly contribute to Jumperโ€™s success by coming up with independent ideas and solutions to complex challenges. The current team includes: a Senior Full-Stack, a Junior Frontend Engineer, a Product Designer, a Technical Product Manager and a Business Lead. In addition, one more Full-Stack Engineer will be added to the team soon. In the near future, we would also love to see one of the Sr. Engineers to evolve into an engineering lead position for our small team.\n\n\n \n\n\nOur current stack:\n\n\n\n * Node.js running TypeScript code in Docker containers\n\n * NextJS and React.js\n\n * MongoDB and Redis\n\n * Github, Kubernetes, AWS and CloudFlare for our GitOps CD chain\n\n * Ether.js and Wagmi\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nPlease note: You must be located in the EMEA region. Your application will not be considered if you're outside EMEA.\n\n\n \n\n\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\n\n\n * Architecting and implementing scalable and robust infrastructure solutions that can handle growing user loads and evolving business needs (we are already used by over 100k monthly active users).\n\n * Developing and maintaining comprehensive test suites, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to ensure the reliability of backend systems.\n\n * Design and develop high quality frontend applications that are testable and maintainable.\n\n * Be responsible for development of prototypes, new frontend features and React components.\n\n * Leading the design, development, and maintenance of a newly developed Jumper backend system and APIs.\n\n * Collaborate closely with the Software Engineers, Product Manager and Designers within your team.\n\n * Review the work of your teammates and support them in their growth through guidance and mentorship where needed.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nWhat makes a good candidate\n\n\n\n * Must be located in the EMEA region.\n\n * Effective communication skills (in English) with the ability to build relationships and work in a small but excellent team while self-guided on a day-to-day basis.\n\n * Extensive professional experience in a similar role (as senior or lead).\n\n * Experience in UX/UI development.\n\n * Experience in software design and architecture.\n\n * Knowledge of testing frameworks and principles.\n\n * Passion for new technologies and ability to autonomously evaluate them and make suggestions for improvement.\n\n * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science is a plus.\n\n * Previous working experience in the blockchain space or related technical understanding is a plus (especially with Wagmi).\n\n\n\n\n\nWe encourage you to apply if you feel your experience and skills equip you for this job but are not listed here!\n\n\n \n\n\nCompany culture\n\n\n\n * \nEmpowered teams: We take the best person with the right skills, and then inspire them to use them! We trust our team and give them the space and ownership to excel and achieve.\n\n * \nFlexible time management: We believe work should adapt to your life, not the other way around. We only schedule a few fixed meetings every week โ€“ you're free to arrange the rest of your time as you like.\n\n * \nInclusive culture: Itโ€™s our priority to make our whole team feel included, appreciated and respected. Our global, culturally diverse team is our most important asset.\n\n * \nRemote-friendly: Weโ€™re a fully remote, global company. As long as youโ€™re not on Mars (the WiFi is terrible we heard), being part of our team from the comfort of your own home works perfectly well for us.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nWhat youโ€™ll get\n\n\n\n * Entitlement to a work computer (choice of equipment).\n\n * Unlimited remote days and flexible working hours.\n\n * Annual team off-sites (Thailand was a blast last year & Vietnam will be even blast-ier).\n\n * An annual 1000โ‚ฌ personal development budget once you have worked 6+ months (pro-rated the first year).\n\n * A one-time 1000โ‚ฌ remote budget to use on co-working, office setup, etc.\n\n * Initial equity allocations once you have worked 6+ months.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nCompensation & Package\n\n\nBase package + equity \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, Crypto, React, Docker, Testing, Typescript, Senior, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n

Apply for this job

๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.

Obol is hiring a
Remote Senior Frontend Engineer DApp Development

\nWho Are We?\n\n\nObol Labs is a remote-first research and software development team focused on Proof of Stake infrastructure for public blockchain networks. Specific topics of focus are Internet Bonds, Distributed Validator Technology, and Multi-Operator Validation. The core team includes 35 members spread across +14 countries.\n\n\nThe core team is building the Obol Network, a protocol to foster trust-minimized staking through multi-operator validation. This will enable low-trust access to Ethereum staking yield, which can be used as a core building block in various Web3 products.\n\n\nThe Network\n\n\nThe network can be best visualized as a work layer that sits directly on top of the base layer consensus. This work layer is designed to provide the base layer with more resiliency and decentralization as it scales. In this chapter of Ethereum, we will move on to the next great scaling challenge, which is stake centralization. Layers like Obol are critical to the long-term viability and resiliency of public networks, especially networks like Ethereum.\n\n\nObol as a layer is focused on scaling main chain staking by providing permissionless access to Distributed Validators. The network utilizes a middleware implementation of Distributed Validator Technology (DVT), to enable the operation of distributed validator clusters that can preserve validators' current client and remote signing configurations.\n\n\nSimilar to how roll-up technology laid the foundation for L2 scaling implementations, we believe DVT will do the same for scaling the consensus layer while preserving decentralization. Staking infrastructure is entering its protocol phase of evolution, which must include trust-minimized staking networks that can be plugged into at scale. We believe DVT will evolve into a widely used primitive and will ensure the security, resiliency, and decentralization of public networks.\n\n\nThe Obol Network develops and maintains three core public goods that will eventually work together through circular economics:\n\n\nThe DV Launchpad, a User Interface for bootstrapping and managing Distributed Validators\n\n\nCharon, a Golang based middleware client that enables validators to run in a fault-tolerant, distributed manner.\n\n\nObol Splits, a set of solidity contracts for the formation of Distributed Validators tailored to different use cases such as DeFi, Liquid Staking, and Fractionalized Deposits \n\n\n\n\nSustainable Public Goods\n\n\nObol is inspired by previous work on Ethereum public goods and experimenting with circular economics. We believe that to unlock innovation in staking use cases, a credibly neutral layer must exist for innovation to flow and evolve vertically. Without this layer, highly available uptime will continue to be a moat.\n\n\nThe Obol Network will become an open, community-governed, self-sustaining project over the coming months and years. Together we will incentivize, build, and maintain distributed validator technology that makes public networks a more secure and resilient foundation to build on top of.\n\n\nThe Role \n\n\nThe focus of this role is on developing and enhancing React-based web applications for interacting with the Ethereum blockchain to create Distributed Validators. This includes creating user-friendly interfaces, integrating with wallets, and ensuring the applications are absolutely secure and reliable.\n\n\nThe goal of this role is to enable the proliferation of Distributed Validators in the Ethereum Staking Ecosystem, by making them easy to create, view, understand, and interact with. This role requires working with agency and autonomy. It requires collaboration with cross-functional internal teams as well as dealing with external stakeholders. Obolโ€™s Distributed Validator Launchpad, Obolโ€™s static website, Obolโ€™s typescript packages, and other applications will be under this roleโ€™s remit. \n\n\n\nResponsibilities\n* Develop and implement new features for our web applications using React, showcasing your expertise in creating user-centric solutions.\n* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and QA engineers, to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality products.\n* Contribute to Obolโ€™s coding standards, design patterns, and development methodologies.\n* Drive innovation by researching and adopting the latest trends and technologies in the React ecosystem, ensuring our applications remain secure, competitive, and cutting-edge.\n* Act as a technical mentor for junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and excel in their roles.\n* Collaborate with external partners integrating Obol technology into their dapps using the Obol SDK.\n* Take responsibility for maintaining and enhancing our current products, including our component library (obol-ui) and DApp (dv-launchpad).\n* Improve the accessibility of our interfaces to all types of internet users.\n* Harden the security of our React software and its supply chain.  \n\n\n\nRequirements\n* Professional experience in React-based Ethereum Application Development (examples below).\n* What we use for React Development: Typescript, Next.js, React Hook Form, SWR, Zustand, @headlessui/react, stitches.dev, tailwindCSS and others. \n* What we use for Ethereum Development: Foundry, Hardhat, Ethers.js, web3-react, @obolnetwork/obol-sdk, @metamask/eth-sig-util, @0xsplits/splits-sdk(-react), @gnosis.pm/safe-core-sdk, @synthetixio/synpress, @chainsafe/(bls/discv5/ssz) and others. \n* Previous delivery of react websites that enable non-custodial, wallet-based interaction with mainnet Ethereum or a similar EVM network with more than $100k in value handled. \n* Knowledge of JS/TS security and testing best practices.\n* Knowledge of JS/TS CI/CD best practices.\n* Experience working with Agile Software Development methodologies.\n* Web3 professional experience.\n* Proven ability to maintain and contribute to Open Source repos \n* Timezone between UTC-2 to UTC+3 \n\n\n\nNice to have\n* Ethereum staking experience.\n* Node.js or other backend development experience.\n* Solidity development experience.\n* Familiarity with docker and/or running servers.\n* SQL/NoSQL experience.\n* Experience working in a distributed remote team.\n\n\n\nBenefits\n* Fully Remote Working and flexible hours.\n* Meet the team at our Annual Offsites.\n* Chance to attend crypto and staking conferences.\n* Working with the purpose of decentralising Ethereum.\n* Generous paid time off.\n* Budget for equipment.\n* Budget for training or education.\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you for your interest. Helping your team, and peer teams, navigate these challenges is core to the problem space for managers.\n\n* Improve performance: Your team is a reflection of you, your values, and your support. Your team will need regular mentorship, advice and feedback to operate effectively. Contributing to this space along with your leadership team, is part of effective management at Carta.\n\n* Expand collaboration: Business unit organizational models benefit from speed and autonomy, but absorb known trade-offs in company-wide collaboration. Engineering managers are the hedge against that trade-off, bringing teams and engineers across Carta together.\n\n* People: Carta has a great team today. You can relate to developer pain points, and are able to offer solutions that bring immense usability and productivity gains\n\n* You are energized by, and capable of, super-charging the careers of those that report to you. Youโ€™ve been able to help mentor more junior engineers, and support more senior engineers in reaching their potential. Youโ€™ve directly managed teams for at least 2 years.\n\n* Youโ€™ve expanded the worldview of your teams, celebrated diversity of thought and background, and tied it all back through successful product launches in your past.\n\n* You recognize the power of ownership, and have lived examples of where ownership played central roles in your career- through software and through business.\n\n* You are willing and capable of getting in the trenches alongside your fellow engineers and reports. You lead by example, and take pride in your work.\n\n* You are exceptionally technical. You can describe complex ideas simply. You are just as capable working toward a long term road map as you are jumping into a fire to solve a problem.\n\n* You are as hungry to learn about our customers and business as you are about the latest stack or Docker release.\n\n* Preferably, exposure to AWS, Python, Django, Circle CI\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, Docker, Senior and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $55,000 — $105,000/year\n

Remote Software Engineer Search Suite

Working hours\n\n๐ŸŒŽ Given that we are an all-remote company and hire almost anywhere in the world, we donโ€™t have a particular time-zone preference for this role. However, you may need to be available for non-recurring urgent meetings outside of working hours.\nWhy this job is exciting\n\nSourcegraph Code Search is an advanced, user-friendly code search and navigation tool designed to help developers efficiently understand, navigate, and review the software they're working on, irrespective of its size or complexity. It offers a web-based, universal code search capability across various repositories, branches, and languages, enabling quick and accurate search results with context. It also provides features such as semantic code search, syntax highlighting, hover tooltips, and real-time code insights, significantly reducing the time spent understanding codebases or hunting for specific logic. With integrations into popular version control systems and code editors, Sourcegraph Code Search aids in code exploration, bug squashing, and feature development, making it an indispensable tool for modern development teams.\n\nThe Code Search team is aimed at growing the Code Search product into a 100+ million dollar product that is an integral part of every Fortune-500 companyโ€™s workflow. As a senior software engineer on the Code Search team, you will contribute to the direction of Sourcegraphโ€™s Code Search product. With your expertise, you will be in the thick of maintaining, expanding, and shaping the future of the product, ensuring it meets the needs of our largest enterprise customers. Search engine experience is not required.\n\n๐Ÿ“… Within one month, you willโ€ฆ\n\n\n* Onboard onto the Sourcegraph codebase, architecture, tooling, and development workflow.\n\n* Build a solid understanding of the teamโ€™s areas of ownership, technical challenges, and problems the team solves for our customers, and know how all of these align with the top-level company goals.\n\n* Actively participate in team meetings, sharing ideas and insights to contribute to the overall team goals.\n\n* Work closely with your team members, asking questions and seeking feedback to ensure alignment and clear understanding of tasks.\n\n* Begin making meaningful contributions to ongoing projects, demonstrating a clear understanding of our coding standards and methodologies.\n\n\n\n\n๐Ÿ“… Within three months, you willโ€ฆ\n\n\n* Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Code Search product, its underlying technologies, and its integration within the Sourcegraph ecosystem.\n\n* Begin to take ownership of specific areas of the product, showcasing expertise and problem-solving capabilities.\n\n* Regularly participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and upholding our high standards of code quality.\n\n* Engage in team discussions on architectural design, scalability, and other higher-level aspects, bringing clarity and forward momentum to such conversations.\n\n* Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the Code Search team.\n\n* Lead or co-lead smaller projects, showcasing strong scoping, implementation, and delivery skills.\n\n* Proactively identify potential challenges in projects and work towards mitigating risks and ensuring smooth execution.\n\n\n\n\n๐Ÿ“… Within six months, you willโ€ฆ\n\n\n* Act as a go-to expert within your domain, helping to address complex challenges, guide the team through intricate issues, and define best practices.\n\n* Proactively dive into unfamiliar areas of the codebase, suggesting improvements, and ensuring that our technical infrastructure remains robust and forward-looking.\n\n* Have a significant influence on the teamโ€™s roadmap, proposing new features, optimizations, and refactors based on customer needs, technical debt, and industry best practices.\n\n* Lead larger projects from conception to deployment, ensuring that they align with our strategic objectives and adhere to our quality standards.\n\n* Play a pivotal role in shaping the team's culture, ensuring that it remains collaborative, innovative, and focused on continuous growth.\n\n* Actively mentor junior team members and collaborate with other senior engineers, ensuring their success within their teams.\n\n\n\nAbout you\n\n\n* You are a passionate Full-stack Software Engineer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience, eagerly seeking a challenging role that allows you to leverage your technical skills while also offering opportunities for learning and growth. Your coding skills are solid, and you are proficient in your primary focus area, yet you remain open and excited to dive into different parts of the technology stack.\n\n* You are eager to continue building your track record of excellence, autonomy, and the expertise to solve complex software engineering challenges.\n\n* You are comfortable with the full-stack spectrum, from pixel-perfect front-end implementations to robust and scalable back-end architectures.\n\n* You are aligned with and willing to contribute to our values. You enjoy working on challenging problems and care deeply about the product's end-user experience.\n\n* While you are task-oriented and able to follow directions, you are also demonstrating a growing sense of independence in your work. You are self-sufficient, capable of delivering results with minimal guidance, and unafraid to take the lead on small and mid-sized projects.\n\n* You have a good understanding of software engineering principles, architecture design, and scalability. You have a track record of delivering high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.\n\n* Your problem-solving skills are top-notch; you are able to detect issues in requirements and actively engage in discussions to find the best resolution. You manage your time effectively, ensuring that you deliver reliable results without compromising on quality. You take ownership of your work, you are self-motivated, and you exhibit a strong sense of accountability and responsibility for the success of the product.\n\n* You tend to deliver work incrementally to get feedback and iterate over solutions.\n\n* You take pride in helping others, whether thatโ€™s through onboarding new team members, mentoring junior engineers, or adding documentation to aid collective understanding. You understand the value of feedback and are adept at both giving and receiving it constructively.\n\n* You enjoy working on highly collaborative, dynamic, and remote teams in a startup environment.\n\n* Overall, you are a proactive, collaborative, and skilled software engineer building a track record in crafting scalable software and services, including distributed systems. You have a clear understanding of software engineering principles, and a customer-centric approach. Adaptable and self-motivated, you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment, delivering high-quality code and prioritizing the end-user experience while embracing feedback and taking ownership of tasks.\n\n\n\nTechnical qualifications\n\n\n* You are proficient in Go, with exposure to scaling and concurrency.\n\n* You are proficient  with Typescript and Javascript frameworks; experience with React and SvelteKit is a plus.\n\n* You have some knowledge of GraphQL.\n\n* You are comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes.\n\n* You are comfortable interacting with relational databases; PostgreSQL experience is a plus.\n\n* You are comfortable with the command-line interface and bash scripting.\n\n* You are comfortable in a multi-service environment.\n\n* You can utilize Bazel as a build tool.\n\n* You are familiar with macOS and Linux platforms.\n\n\n\nLevel\n\n๐Ÿ“Š This job is an IC2.  You can read more about our job leveling philosophy in our Handbook.\nCompensation\n\n๐Ÿ’ธ We pay you an above-average salary because we want to hire the best people who are fully focused on helping Sourcegraph succeed, not worried about paying bills.
