OneSecondDelivery is hiring a

Remote Machine learning engineer for large scale ML project

**Promising drone-delivery startup is hiring a Dataset and Machine Learning Manager to work remotely. OneSec is working on a groundbreaking GPT-scale machine learning project to make autonomous delivery drones. In this job, you will build the Datasets and Neural Networks that fly our autonomous delivery drones. These drones will then deliver millions of meals and other packages in the real world.**\n\n##About OneSecondDelivery\nWe are creating a food delivery app that uses autonomous drones to deliver the food. We deliver everything 5 times faster and 100 times cheaper, thanks to small autonomous delivery-robots. The company was founded in 2017 by a leading expert on drone legislation and a successful e-commerce entrepreneur. The Swiss Federal Institute of Technologyโ€™s Vice Presidency of Innovation has recognized the large potential of this project and has supported us with the XGrant Prize and other resources.\n\nYou can check out our website OneSec.com for more info\n\n##Job Description\nOneSec is building one of the largest machine learning projects in the drone industry.\nWith our own photorealistic flight simulator, and a fleet of prototype drones, we are building one of the largest depth perception datasets in the world, with 60 million training samples. As well as an unsupervised pre-training pipeline with 400 million training samples. We are building a large computer cluster of NVIDIA and Tenstorrent chips to scale up our machine learning project to this scale. \n\n####Your job has 3 components:\n* Neural network training and optimization\n* Dataset management and generation\n* Supporting our hardware team in building up our exaflop-scale machine learning cluster\n\n####Here are some of the Neural Networks you will be building:\n\n-Delivery surface finder:\nA neural net that picks the optimal delivery surface within a balcony or backyard of a customer.\nUsually this will be a table or chair or a section of the floor that has enough clearance.\n\n-OneSec Fruxel Depthmap:\nThis is a convolutional neural network that takes camera images and generates a 3D representation of the space around the drone. Our pathplanner then uses this depthmap to plan a collision free path for the drone. This neural network represents the core of our autopilot system. \n\n-Delivery Clearance Model:\nThis model checks the camera images to see if the scene is safe to approach. We don't fly into a balcony if there's a human or dog in it. And when we approach a restaurant to pickup a package, we make sure the scene is clear of humans, pets etc.\n\n###Requirements\n* The most important thing is that you are excited about this project, and like the mission of our company.\n* Knowledgeable about machine learning and neural networks. Both practical and theoretical.\n* Experience with computer vision and convolutional networks\n* Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow\n* Good computer skills, and general tech savvy: you will do many tasks like setting up recording devices to record datasets, creating small python programs for dataset labelling and management, post processing large image datasets etc.\n\n###Benefits:\n* Take part in a huge success story\n* Flexible work schedule\n* Competitive cash compensation\n* Equity compensation (become a partner in the company) \n\nPlease mention the words **AUTHOR EXCHANGE MARKET** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xOTg=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $30,000 — $100,000/year\n

## The big vision โœจ\nAs a society, we spent the last decade solving delivery and bringing the physical grocery store online. What we missed is the simple fact that food was already online in the form of content in food communities, blogs and forums. In fact, food makes up a large portion of the social media content we consume today.\nAt Jupiter, [we are pioneering food media & content shopping in the US](https://www.winsightgrocerybusiness.com/technology/social-network-grocery), and in doing so we're building the next version of grocery shopping. In this new version, customers will create, share and shop content directly from food communities where they find affinity. They'll be able to easily plan their meals and shop for ingredients in a single click, as well as share cooking tips with others โ€” a 10x better way to shop that can only exist online.\nWe use data science and machine learning to automate the repetitive nature of grocery shopping and weโ€™ve created a social shopping experience that is unique to the world of food. Join us on our mission to build magical food experiences that are convenient, healthy & fun!\n\n[*Jupiter](http://jupiter.co) was part of Y Combinator's Summer 2019 batch, and [secured 2.8M](https://techcrunch.com/2020/06/16/jupiter-wants-to-put-grocery-delivery-on-autopilot/) from an outstanding set of investors including NFX, Khosla Ventures, Canaan Ventures, Switch Ventures, and Paul Buchheit.*\n## **About your role ๐Ÿ’ซ**\nOur โ€œautopilotโ€ predictions and recommendations are the bread-and-butter of the Jupiter platform, and are core to personalizing the Jupiter experience. Joining as a founding member of our machine learning engineering (โ€œAutopilotโ€) team, youโ€™ll be critical in making foundational decisions around our data stack and model infrastructure at Jupiter to supercharge this system.\nAs a founding Autopilot engineer, engineering is just as important as data science. In other words, not only will you be responsible for model development and evaluation, but youโ€™ll own productionization of those models, workflows, and ETL as well.\n**Your responsibilities would include**\n- Making foundational decisions around our data pipeline and model infrastructure from both an engineering (e.g. workflow management, data warehousing) and data science (e.g. model design/evaluation) perspective.\n- Building, launching, evaluating, and maintaining models and custom algorithms to generate predictions of what products or recipes customers are ordering week-to-week, *and* personalized recommendations for what they might like to add.\n- Working closely with the product team to outline feature/UX work which maximizes information provided to models.\n- Track prediction/recommendation precision and recall closely across customer segments to inform subsequent modeling decisions.\n- Shaping our practice as a founding member of the Autopilot Team, bringing your technical leadership, experience, and knowledge of best practices to establish a strong culture around machine learning engineering.\n**Ownership within the autopilot team:**\n- You work primarily on the **personalization and recommendation** feature sets within the autopilot team.\n- You will work with the product team to personalize the store experience and improve product recommendations for customers.\n**We're looking for the best talent out there, so we're offering competitive base salaries with generous early-hire equity.**\n## About you ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€\n**You might be a great fit if youโ€ฆ**\n- Have 4+ years of experience productionizing ML systems\n- Are thrilled about tackling challenging, seemingly-impossible technical problems around data science, machine learning engineering, predictive modeling, or discrete optimization\n- Have lots of experience building out and productionizing systems around personalization and recommendation\n- Are excited about learning about and designing complex machine learning algorithms attuned to specific problems or use cases\n- Are comfortable working with modern web stacks and integrating data pipelines within production systems - we use TypeScript, Kotlin (JVM), gRPC/protobuf, Terraform, among others\n- Are just as excited about data exploration in BigQuery and Jupyter notebooks (i.e. data science) as you are about setting up data pipelines with Airflow (i.e. data engineering)\n- Are enthusiastic about learning, trying, and diving deeply into new, unfamiliar technologies\n- Have taken a customer-facing product from conception to execution, and are excited about doing so again at Jupiter\n- Care about writing clean, well-documented code and appreciate static typing\n- Enjoy taking initiative while working with a small team in fast-paced environment\n- Are excited about reinventing the online grocery experience, starting with working families \n\nPlease mention the words **OAK RAVEN BROKEN** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xOTg=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $10,000 — $20,000/year\n
