๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. ### WHO ARE AWE\n\nWe are the original pioneers in the web-based Augmented Reality industry and after years of R&D, we launched the world's first "commercial webAR creation platform" way back in 2016. \n\nThe AWE (Augmented Web Experiences) platform enables people to create image AR, spatial AR, face AR, location AR and interactive 360ยฐ or webVR experiences using our drag and drop editing tool or your own custom code.\n\nOur customers are at the core of everything we do. We strive to make creating webAR experiences as easy as possible. They range from heavy hitting corporates, to government departments, global digital agencies, marketing agencies (small, medium and large), digital freelancers and educators. \n\nWithin these companies our customers tend to be the creative forces; think "designers, artists, 3d modellers, front end developers and js folk that don't have the knowledge or the time to get their heads into the complex space that is webAR". \n\nWe make their lives easier by giving them the online tools they need to create a range of webAR experiences that "just work". All in your web browser. Experiences that seamlessly work across different devices without needing to add any code (unless you want to). \n\nWe are seeing increasingly strong growth in our customer base as more people are coming to understand what AR is, and more importantly how AWEsome it is when it's delivered through the web browser. \n\nCovid also means people are using webAR to connect to their customers in new and innovative ways too.\n\n### WHAT DOES WORKING AT AWE LOOK LIKE?\n\nSince its inception, AWE has been a "remote first and remote only" company and have established our team, processes and work based around this idea. We believe that life and work aren't separate. Supporting our team to work flexibly and remotely enables people to be more productive and allows for you to fit "more of your life" into your day.\n\nOur team is currently distributed across Europe and the Asia Pacific region, although we're open to welcoming new team members from anywhere in the world. \n\nWe don't have a physical office. Your office could be your home or a co-working space, a beachside cafe or the top of a mountain. As long as you have an internet connection, you decide where you work from. We have a culture of trust and accountability so we don't tell you when and where to work. Rather we are focused on productivity and open communication within the team. We encourage the team to have at least a 2-4 hour working time crossover window each day, especially with team members you may be currently working on a specific project with. And each day we have an all-in team meeting. For some, this means starting earlier in their day (freeing up your afternoons and evenings), for others it is starting later in the day, and some even like to split up their work times across their day and evening.\n\nOur primary communication is via online chat, and tickets/wiki for work tasks, allocation and documentation. Our primary language is English as this is the common language across team members. We don't mind if you don't have perfect spoken English, however your written English needs to be pretty good, as is your ability to type quickly in online channels as part of team discussions.\n\nWe also have a flat team structure, so you will be talking and working with anyone and everyone in the team when you need to.\n\n### WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING\n\nWe don't believe in giving you a list of tools and frameworks you need to have a high proficiency in. We don't need you to have a specific number of years experience under your belt. What we are looking for is someone with a passion for the web and experience building web based applications to work with our growing team to continue our groundbreaking work in the spatial and augmented web. \n\n### ABOUT YOU:\n* You have a good working knowledge of HTML and CSS\n* Have at least some experience with vanilla javascript\n* Good git skills\n* Have a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite of tools or similar (e.g. Sketch, Figma, Invision, etc.). We're not asking you to be a designer, but you'll need to code product and project user interfaces, optimise images and other media from our content, design and UX team.\n* You have experience creating web based applications and\n* You are a great communicator. You appreciate the importance of clear communication, especially when workingย withย a remote team.ย \n* You bring a genuine aptitude for problem solving and the ability to work autonomously with a high degree of accountability. Youย are happy working on a task by yourself,ย but you take initiative to involve other team members whenย necessary.ย \n* You have aย high attention to detail.ย Youย are intimatelyย familiarย withย the complexitiesย ofย web development,ย e.g.ย mobileย responsiveness,ย browserย compatibilityย and ensure you QA all work before handing it over for integration or review.\n\n\n**Salary based on demonstrable skills and experience, and location.** \n\nPlease mention the words **RING DECORATE DISAGREE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xOTg=). \nECi Lasso is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to continue to provide the best in Software Solutions to small and medium sized businesses\n \n\nLasso is the developer of the leading cloud-based, on-demand Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for the new-home-building industry. \n \n\nWe’re looking for a strong technical front-end engineer who really enjoys the challenges of state-management in user interfaces. Our app was initially written in Angular 1.x, but our approach moves it close to how modern apps use React - no two-way data binding, no global state, data is passed down and events bubble up (via event handlers.) \n \n\nState is managed by a Reflux-like approach with RxJS streams. A state stream consumes various action-streams, and produces a state object that’s passed to the top-level angular directive.\n\nWe’re looking for someone who really loves writing front-end software and solving the various technical challenges that arise - optimizing time-to-first-meaningful-paint, optimizing bundle size and page load time, low input latency, etc. \n \n\nIf you’re excited about progressive web apps, efficient resource caching with service workers or experimenting with the newest Javascript-targeting transpiling languages, please don’t hesitate to reach out. \n \n\nAs a fully remote team, communication is extremely important - there is no chance to drop in on interesting discussions around the water cooler, or to see if someone is busy just by glancing at their desk. We have systems to signal busy-ness; regular meetings and stand-ups to disseminate information, frequent one-on-ones to ensure there are no frustrations building up, a code of conduct and a formal complaint process to resolve conflicts early-on. \n \n\nAs a key member of our front-end team, you’ll:\n\n\n* \n\nImplement requirements provided by the UX developer\n\n\n* \n\nTackle difficult coding problems like caching, concurrency and state management\n\n\n* \n\nWrite effective high-quality code with a focus on performance and maintainability\n\n\n* \n\nImprove our architecture\n\n\n* \n\nMaintain and optimize our front-end build processes\n\n\n* \n\nCreate reliable tests and work closely with our QA team for end-to-end testing\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n* \n\nYou thrive in a self-directed and open work environment. There’s no boss breathing down your neck, no deadlines, no fixed work hours and no in-office requirements. It’s really important that you can manage your time well, and you know what you need in order to do your job well (e.g. what work hours to pick so you have enough time to communicate with team members effectively)\n\n\n* \n\nLots of experience building and maintaining single-page apps\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliarity with multiple modern Javascript and CSS frameworks\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with modern front-end build processes and current trends like new languages transpiling to Javascript or compiling to WASM\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliarity with functional programming and bonus points for reactive programming experience\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with automated testing of client-side Javascript (both integration and unit tests)\n\n\n* \n\nGood understanding of front-end performance optimizations\n\n\n\n\n\nInterested?\n\nLasso’s vision is to be the technology hub for new home sales in North America by providing a unique combination of remarkable software and expert services. \nABOUT YOU\nYou’ve built sophisticated SPAs using one or more mainstream frameworks like Angular, Knockout, Backbone, Meteor, React, etc.; and you’re chomping at the bit to try another. You think in REST and always notice when your CSS is off by a pixel. You know the difference between call() and apply(), but you also know it usually doesn’t matter. Apps that react as fast as you can click have you opening up the source code.
