Theyโve found the intersection of fun and professionalism. They live there now. \n\nAn integral member of OfficeNinjasโ fully remote team, the CM knows how to collect, synthesize, and report feedback in a way that helps our team better understand admins and anticipate their needs.\n\nMost importantly, the person who lands this gig needs to LOVE working with people. Weโre a company founded on relationships, and this job represents that. \nAt Panamplify we're building a future where software helps with low-creativity gruntwork and frees people to spend more time on the interesting parts of their jobs. We're starting out by helping our customers automate the boring parts of producing client reports. We're looking for a senior software developer with a strong sense of ownership to join our team.\n\nYou will work closely with designers, other developers, and our customer support and sales teams to build new product features from the ground up.\n\nWe're using Ruby/Rails for our front end, with back-end services running in the Play framework (both Scala and Java), with AWS RDS Postgres for the database layer.\n\nYou might be a fit for this position if:\n\n\n* You've shipped production software to real customers as a mid-level/senior software developer.\n\n* You are experienced with Java (the language and the ecosytem) and have experimented with alternative JVM languages (Scala preferred, but the main point is the desire/ability to learn new things)\n\n* You're familar with and facinated by (but not necessarily an expert in) procedural content generation.\n\n* You're an excellent written and verbal communicator (our team is distributed and communication is vital)\n\n* You prefer to know how the libaries you're using actually work rather than just taking them as given (We'll ask for examples)\n\n* You are not a "single approach" purist in language choice, frameworks, libraries or development paradigms, and have experience with multiple approaches (production use of functional languages is a bonus)\n\n* You have a favorite layer of the stack, but are comfortable/competent all the way from optimizing SQL queries to helping solve problems calling REST services from Javascript.\n\n* You have the judgement (from experience) to evaluate and choose 3rd party libraries (or recommend roll-your-own).\n\n* You've written ETL code, and are familiar with the challenges that happen "in real life" when trying to pull data from a 3rd party service with a quirky API.\n\n\n\n\nBonus:\n\n\n* You're taken a traditional AI course and are familiar with the fundamentals.\n\n* You've worked with (or written) constraint-satisfaction or planning algorithms.\n\n* You've worked with (or written) procedural content generation systems.\n\n* You know who Douglas Engelbart is and why he's important (or just look it up now)\n\n\n\n\nWriting code to produce content (or help edit it) is a tricky problem, Our system needs to be flexible enough to express the data-stories the users want to tell, but without requiring users to be low-level data manipulation experts. We're solving the problem by baking knowledge into the system, from the the type and meaning of individual metrics ("reach isn't additive") all the way up to rules about what makes a section of a report well-structured. We use a variety of techniques to encode this knowledge, and since there's no expectation that anyone could have experience with everything, we need developers who love to learn new things and immediately put them into practice. That sounds fun, but it is also quite challenging, and we'd like to hear how you've done similar things in the past.\n\nIf any of this sounds interesting, we highly recommend taking a look at http://panamplify.com/careers.html , Check out what we do and see if you might be interested. If you are, let us know why. If you're not sure, then drop us a note or arrange to stop by the office and we can talk. But please don't just spam us with a resume and generic cover letter, applications like that get routed to /dev/null.\n\nYou must live in and be authorized to work in the United States, and you'll need to make occasional trips to Dallas for all-hands meetings. We're also a group of respectful adults who don't think racism, sexism or homophobia or xenophobia make for a good work environment, see the careers link above for more details on that. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

ByBox have done this using its world-beating electronic-box technology and in-house developed software platform to provide the most sophisticated field service solution in the UK. The ByBox solution disrupted the market by increasing service while reducing cost for customers, so that it now dominates the UK market.\n\n\nByBox is now taking its technology globally by building on its already impressive software development team to build a technology team capable of delivering electronic box-based solutions to a global market. The ByBox suite of mobile, web, and client-based applications cover:\n\n\n\n* Bluetooth electronic lockers\n\n* Multi-tenanted customer web-applications\n\n* End-user mobile applications\n\n* Logistics support & label/barcode generation\n\n* Warehouse management systems\n\n* Customer-facing order portals\n\n* Customer and 3rd-party EDI\n\n* In-field mobile device and scanner solutions\n\n* Automated testing facilities\n\n* And much, much more\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Position\n\n\nByBox requires an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Software professional to take on the new role of Technical Content Author at ByBox, in the Software Development department. However, we have a flexible working culture, and with mutual agreement you can spend a proportion of your time working from home. There will also be some travel to other sites in the UK, namely our facilities in Coventry and Milton Keynes. All technical team members are connected remotely and communication is fully established, effective and easy. Face to face meetings in any one of our offices can be arranged easily as and when required.\n\n\nAlthough rare, some out of hours working may be required as part of understanding the different ByBox domains (particularly operational).\n\n\nThe Person\n\n\nThe successful candidate will be an experienced technical author/writer with the following experience and qualities:\n\n\n\n* Background of working in Software Development teams creating software user documentation, user manuals, release notes, training courses / materials and other documents.\n\n* Outstanding written communication skills, with strong literacy, and a clear and concise writing style.\n\n* Creative, with a flair for turning technical subjects and jargon into easily understood content or training material.\n\n* Be a clear and confident communicator; able to interact effectively with a distributed team of other technical experts and senior representatives.\n\n* Passion and aptitude in technology and technical techniques, particularly content authoring tools.\n\n* Be enthusiastic and pro-active in learning the technologies and capabilities of ByBox’ existing software.\n\n* An exceptional eye for detail with a passion for accuracy.\n\n* Worked with both internal and external stakeholders to define suitable documentation requirements.\n\n* Be a clear and confident communicator; able to interact effectively with a distributed team of other technical experts and senior representatives.\n\n* Ability to lead and influence a variety of team members with the goal of fulfilling our documentation strategy.\n\n* Be self-motivated, positive, self-disciplined, reliable, trustful, honest and collaborative.\n\n* Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.\n\n\n\n\n\nDesirable qualifications and experience:\n\n\n* Qualifications in English, Communications, Computer Science, or other relevant subjects.\n\n* Experience in the logistics industry, or knowledge of the ByBox domain.\n\n* Experience working with agile software development methodologies.\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication Process:\n\n Please apply in writing to the Recruitment Department including a covering letter and up to date CV\n\nNOTE:\n\nExternal candidates will be required to supply details of two business referees in senior positions, who will be contacted by the Company after the first interview. ๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter.
