Airbyte is hiring a
Remote Senior Developer Advocate Engineer

\nAirbyte is the open-source standard for EL(T). We enable data teams to replicate data from applications, APIs, and databases to data warehouses, lakes, and other destinations. We believe only an open-source approach can solve the problem of data integration, as it enables us to cover the long tail of integrations while enabling teams to adapt pre-built connectors to their needs.\n \nSo far, we've built over 350 connectors and have had 35,000+ companies replicating data with us. We've raised $181M from some of the world's top investors (Benchmark, Accel, Altimeter, Coatue, Y Combinator, etc.) and believe in product-led growth, where we build something awesome and let our product bring the users, rather than an outbound sales engine with cold calls.\n \nAirbyte is remote friendly, with most of the team still based in Silicon Valley. Weโ€™re fully transparent as a company. Our company handbook, core values, methodology, strategy and roadmap are open to all.\n \nIf you find this role exciting, we encourage you to apply even if you think you donโ€™t meet all requirements.\n\n \n\n\nOpportunity\n\nAs a Senior Developer Advocate Engineer, youโ€™ll establish strong relationships with data engineers and engineers around the world in a scalable way, by crafting great resources to help developers build with Airbyte, including open-source demos, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, live demos, and hackathons. Youโ€™ll foster developer communities, championing their interests and translating their feedback into actionable product insights.\n\nIf youโ€™re passionate about connecting with developers and the data ecosystem, trying out new technologies, and sharing what youโ€™ve learned with the world, weโ€™d love to hear from you.\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\n\n* Partner closely with product and engineering: Support our feature launches with technical content to drive eyeballs to them, and strengthen Airbyteโ€™s infrastructure reliability perception.\n\n* Lead the technical content theme on โ€œdatabase replicationโ€:  Create deep technical content and sample projects addressing databases and their replications. Position Airbyte as the biggest thought leader on that topic. \n\n* Support our meetup program in San Francisco: Collaborate closely with partners to bring interesting topics / speakers to our meetup group โ€œData Bytesโ€. We will host 2 practitioner-focused meetups per month on data engineering and AI engineering. \n\n* Community and Partners Engagement: Engage with developer communities (including our own) and partners to collaborate on content, events, code contribution, talks, anything to drive adoption of Airbyte. \n\n* Sample Project Development: Develop and maintain sample projects and ready-to-deploy full-fledged open-source quickstarts to showcase the potential and versatility of Airbyte, and help new users get started.\n\n* Voice of the Community: Act as a liaison between the community and the Airbyte product team, ensuring that user feedback, concerns, and suggestions are heard, understood, and acted upon.\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Need\n\n\n* 3 years of experience in software engineering\n\n* Passionate about developer relationships and advocacy. \n\n* You have a working knowledge of databases, data platforms and developer tools like dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow, or other data tools\n\n* You have experience of writing code sample projects, demos, or tutorials.\n\n* You have good knowledge of databases and database replication\n\n* Experience of working within cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, product engineering, support, customer success, etc).\n\n* Scrappy & has a mindset that done is better than perfect. Many of the community projects are early and will have shifts in direction.\n\n* Creative, empathetic, communicative, and clever. Entrepreneurial. \n\n* Confident and comfortable presenting to different types of audiences, large and small.\n\n* Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly.\n\n* Maintain a strong and credible presence in online platforms and social media channels relevant to developers.\n\n* Able to work long hours and weekends to support short-term projects (when needed).\n\n* Data enthusiast - able to provide examples of how you use data to measure success.\n\n* Able to multitask and meet time-sensitive goals.\n\nBelief in our values\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n* San Francisco. Hybrid, twice per week. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nWe provide\n\n\n* Relocation - should you be applying to a San Francisco based role, Airbyte will assist with U.S. relocation to make this a seamless transition and compensate you well.\n\nUnlimited Paid Time Off - we need you at your best at all times. Our expected minimum time off of 25 PTO days per year lets you schedule your work around your life.\n\nCo-working space - most of our team enjoys the WFH life but if you prefer to work from a co-working space, we will cover the full monthly cost.\n\nParental leave (for both parents) - we offer 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents so you have time to adjust to the new life (and work) schedule introduced by your new bundle of joy.\n\nSponsored Travel - we are a fully distributed, 100% remote-first team, however, we recognize the value of in-person time. We sponsor annual company-wide retreats, team offsites, and Travel With Purpose in between to allow you to collaborate with your team in person on a regular basis.\n\nOpen book policy - we will pay for books you purchase for your professional and career development. \n\nContinuous learning/training policy - we sponsor you for the conferences and training programs you feel would add to your development in the company. \n\nCompetitive benefits package for US-based employees, including:\n\nBlue Shield or Kaiser Medical Insurance \n\n\n\nAirbyte covers 100% for both employees and dependents\n\n\n\nDental (including child & adult ortho) & Vision Insurance\n\n\n\nAirbyte covers 100% for both employees and dependents\n\n\n\nLife and AD&D Insurance\n\n\n\nAirbyte covers 100% for employees\n\n\n\nShort-term Disability Insurance \n\n\n\nAirbyte covers 100% for employees \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLong-term Disability Insurance\n\n\n\nAirbyte covers 100% for employees\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHealthcare insurance stipend for those outside the US whose countries do not provide it for free.\n\nMental Health Support for all team members provided via Spill.\n\n401k for US-based employees.\n\nFSA (flexible spending account)\n\nWork Visas We currently sponsor H1B Transfers, TN Visas, and Green Cards. Remote Senior Modelling Product Manager Code Generation

\nWho are we?\nOur mission is to scale intelligence to serve humanity. Weโ€™re training and deploying frontier models for developers and enterprises who are building AI systems to power magical experiences like content generation, semantic search, RAG, and agents. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI.\n\n\nWe obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. We like to work hard and move fast to do whatโ€™s best for our customers.\n\n\nCohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are passionate about their craft. Each person is one of the best in the world at what they do. We believe that a diverse range of perspectives is a requirement for building great products.\n\n\nJoin us on our mission and shape the future!\n\n\nModeling Product Management at Cohere\nThe role of a modelling PM at Cohere is unique. You will be working to define some of the highest impact products ever built in close partnerships with many of the best ML and AI researchers in the world. You will therefore need exceptional product and technical skills.\n\n\nYou will make full use of your product experience and insight to understand the paradigm shift that enterprises are going through and how new use cases and ways of working are emerging as a result of the technologies Cohere is working on. You will combine this with your deep technical understanding of what the technology is capable of, as well as its limitations, to define the product strategy for your area.\n\n\nYou will also work down in the detail alongside your ML colleagues, understanding whatโ€™s easy and whatโ€™s hard, and the technical and organizational challenges that need to be overcome to get things done. The boundary between product and technical work is often blurred. You will need the confidence and trust of the MLEs to make priority decisions and drive the strategy which connects their work to customer outcomes and commercial impact for Cohere.\n\n\nThe Code Generation Role\nOne of the most exciting applications for Generative AI is it's use in software development and code generation.\n\n\nIn this role you will be working as part of the core team on all aspects of code generation. As well as understanding where generative AI can be applied in current software development tooling you will also be thinking much broader to push at the limits of what non-coders can achieve using natural language and other interaction modalities. You will be working to understand where our models are weak, where they are strong, and how they need to get better. You will need to understand the data we need to train on in order to improve and how to prioritise data, evals, use cases across the many demans placed on the coding team from all sides. You will also be working closely with the tools and agents team since code generation is one of the key ways in which agents interact with the outside world though APIs.\n\n\nThis is a high-impact role which is fundamental for Cohereโ€™s success, therefore, we're open to considering candidates at Staff and Senior Staff levels. \n\n\nTeam and Company Impact\nYou will need a scrappy, startup mentality and thrive in an environment of collaborative and creative chaos. \n\n\nYou will have a proven ability to bring meaning and strategy which helps point the way forward. \n\n\nCohere is still a small organization. The breadth of your role will be enormous and the potential for impact almost unlimited.\n\n\n\nIn order to be successful in this role, you have: \n* At least 5 years of product management experience, understanding customer needs, and launching successful products.\n* At least 2 years product management experience guiding the work of research-inspired teams building AI models and/or related products.\n* A strong technical background and understanding from working hands on with NLP, LLMs or other AI technologies, either as an MLE, a data scientist, or as part of a postgraduate degree or research program.\n\n\n\n* [Bonus] Bachelorโ€™s or postgrad degree in CS, ML or related field, or a background in machine learning, algorithms, large scale systems, and statistics\n* [Bonus] Experience with LLMs, code generation, or building products loved by many developers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf some of the above doesnโ€™t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you consider yourself a thoughtful worker, a lifelong learner, and a kind and playful team member, Cohere is the place for you.\n\n\nWe value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants of all kinds and are committed to providing an equal opportunity process. Cohere provides accessibility accommodations during the recruitment process. Should you require any accommodation, please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs.\n\n\nOur Perks: \n๐Ÿค An open and inclusive culture and work environment \n๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป Work closely with a team on the cutting edge of AI research \n๐Ÿฝ Weekly lunch stipend, in-office lunches & snacks\n๐Ÿฆท Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget to take care of your mental health \n๐Ÿฃ 100% Parental Leave top-up for 6 months for employees based in Canada, the US, and the UK\n๐ŸŽจ Personal enrichment benefits towards arts and culture, fitness and well-being, quality time, and workspace improvement\n๐Ÿ™ Remote-flexible, offices in Toronto, Palo Alto, San-Francisco and London and co-working stipend\nโœˆ๏ธ 6 weeks of vacation\n\n\nNote: This post is co-authored by both Cohere humans and Cohere technology. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior and Senior jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $110,000/year\n

Zapier Job Board is hiring a
Remote Engineering Manager Site Reliability

\nJob Posted: 1/4/24\n\nLocation: Americas (Pacific Time)\n\nHi there!\n\nZapierโ€™s on a mission to make everyone more productive at work.  With millions of people benefiting from automation, we're excited to keep expanding our product and team. As we continue to scale our product and grow our team, weโ€™re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to manage a remotely distributed team of Site Reliability Engineers.\n\nOur Site Reliability Engineers collaborate closely with developers, aiding in the design, automation, and maintenance of services. While developers manage the services themselves, our SREs ensure they have the necessary tools and knowledge for success.\n\nIn this role, you'll work across various teams, ensuring your group offers the right support to developers. You'll coordinate multiple projects and collaborate directly with senior leaders to set project priorities. By nurturing your team's talents, you'll enhance application reliability through a software engineering approach to operations. This position allows you to impact every engineering team within the organization, utilizing a wide range of technologies. Maintaining strong relationships and effective communication with teams is key to your success.\n\nWhen issues arise, your team will be there to address root causes, learn from failures, and establish a robust and resilient system for our customers. We prioritize solutions that automate problems rather than relying on manual efforts.\n\nJoin us in our mission to revolutionize productivity through automation!\n\n \nThings We've Done Recently:\n\n\n* Developed numerous microservices within Kubernetes, spanning across multiple AWS accounts.\n\n* Actively participated in open-source Kubernetes initiatives to bolster our stack's autoscaling capabilities.\n\n* Scaled our infrastructure to effortlessly manage millions of daily requests.\n\n* Successfully executed substantial migrations involving hosting providers, database platforms, and stateful technologies.\n\n* Established efficient deployment pipelines utilizing GitLab and ArgoCD to facilitate continuous delivery.\n\n* Crafted user-friendly tools for instantaneously launching new Kubernetes services with a simple click.\n\n* Our journey has been filled with growth and innovation, and we're excited to continue pushing boundaries!\n\n\n\n\nWe know applying for and taking on a new job at any company requires a leap of faith. We want you to feel comfortable and excited to apply at Zapier. To help share a bit more about life at Zapier, here are a few resources in addition to the job description that can give you an inside look at what life is like at Zapier. Hopefully, you'll take the leap of faith and apply.\n\nOur Commitment to Applicants\n\nCulture and Values at Zapier\n\nZapier Guide to Remote Work\n\nZapier Code of Conduct\n\nDiversity and Inclusivity at Zapier\n\n \nAbout You\n\n\n* \n\nYou're an effective team builder. This isn't your first leadership role and you've been in a direct leadership role for at least two years. You know how to hire, train, and develop Site Reliability Engineers from all backgrounds. You understand the benefits of building a diverse and inclusive SRE team. You value teamwork and believe in helping others feel safe to grow and develop. You help engineers get better at what they do, and you donโ€™t need to be in the same room to help them succeed.\n\n\n* \n\nYou have a background in site reliability engineering. Youโ€™re comfortable talking about SLOs, incident management, and building a culture of reliability. You have empathy for our customers and our engineers who use our systems and are eager to make improvements for them. You seek to reduce toil and understand what it means to take a software engineering approach to operations.\n\n\n* \n\nYou're customer-focused. You seek to delight your customers. You have experience working directly with both internal and external customers to understand their needs. You know how to take a customer problem and help guide your team towards finding and implementing the best solution.\n\n\n* \n\nYou have excellent communication skills. You regularly work with engineers and other stakeholders, balancing engineering concerns (such as technical debt) with product concerns. Not only do you know how to share your knowledge with the team and document things well so they can be consumed asynchronously (we do this a lot as a remote company), but you know how to communicate effectively with software and support teams.\n\n\n* \n\nYouโ€™re a strong leader. You lead by example and empathy, understand the business and how to prioritize project work, emphasize mentorship, and create an environment of learning. You understand that experimentation is essential and know how to support your team through that process. You encourage diversity of thought and know that the team is collectively stronger than any individual.\n\n\n* \n\nYou know the cloud. Youโ€™ve designed and maintained highly available, cloud-based infrastructures in AWS or another cloud offering. You understand how to leverage infrastructure as code tools and have experience implementing best practices for reliability and observability.  We use Terraform, Kubernetes, Redis, GitLab, and Datadog.\n\n\n* \n\nYou can code. You have experience with a language like Python or Go to create automated tools. You believe in hands-off deployments and infrastructure as code. Well-honed expertise with the fundamentals of software development goes a long way here.\n\n\n* \n\nYou value our values. At Zapier, our values are at the heart of how we work together and think about our customers. In our remote setting, they help develop trust and ensure we work and collaborate to democratize automation. You see how these values can empower meaningful work, thrive in a collaborative setting, and are eager to continue growing excited to be part of the team.\n\n\n\n\n\n \nThings Youโ€™ll Do\n\nZapier is a fast-growing company, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. Here are some things you'll probably do:\n\n\n* \n\nCollaborate closely with engineering peers to deliver high-quality, reliable, and efficient production software.\n\n\n* \n\n Champion the advancement of Site Reliability Engineering practices within the Engineering department.\n\n\n* \n\nLead the development of incident management processes and on-call response procedures.\n\n\n* \n\nOperate within an agile framework to provide essential infrastructure for Zapier's engineering team.\n\n\n* \n\nExecute the strategic vision of Production Engineering by identifying and delivering relevant backlog items.\n\n\n* \n\nFoster effective communication, monitoring, and leadership through weekly one-on-ones and team meetings.\n\n\n* \n\nKeep the leadership team informed of your team's progress through approaches like one-on-one discussions, updates, and regular team gatherings.\n\n\n* \n\nBuild rapport with each member of your Engineering Team (and beyond!) Support them through coaching and mentorship to help level up their skills.\n\n\n* \n\nActively participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training new engineers at Zapier, which may involve refining interview assessments and documentation.\n\n\n\n\n \nZapier Compensation Guiding Principles\n\nWe believe all Zapiens should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. This philosophy ensures weโ€™re able to find, grow, and retain exceptional people from a broad range of backgrounds. Hereโ€™s how we define our compensation principles:\n\n\n* Competitive: Zapier pays well among the technology sector.\n\n* Equitable: Consistent pay practices; Pay for impact.\n\n* Simple: Pay is well understood, and pay practices are built for scale.\n\n* Transparent: Zapiens know how pay works, including how their pay is determined.\n\n\n\n\nThe pay ranges for this role are:\n\nUnited States $184,000- $230,000- $276,000 USD\n\nCanada  $184,000- $230,000- $276,000 CAD\n\nA Candidate's compensation package is finalized once the interview process is concluded and accounts for demonstrated experience, job knowledge, skills,  abilities, and internal equity. We use a business impact approach to base pay, which means we set pay for all Zapier employees based on their demonstrated impact to Zapierโ€™s success. In alignment with that philosophy, the upper half of a pay range is typically reserved for individuals who have consistently demonstrated a high impact in their current role and level while at Zapier.\n\nFor more information on Zapierโ€™s Total Rewards please click here.\n \nHow to Apply\n\n\nAt Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of education or companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences donโ€™t exactly match the job description. All we ask is that you answer a few in-depth questions in our application that would typically be asked at the start of an interview process. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.\n\nAfter you apply, you are going to hear back from usโ€”even if we donโ€™t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know weโ€™ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!\n\nZapier is an equal-opportunity employer and we're excited to work with talented and empathetic people of all identities. Zapier does not discriminate based on someone's identity in any aspect of hiring or employment as required by law and in line with our commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity. Our code of conduct provides a beacon for the kind of company we strive to be, and we celebrate our differences because those differences are what allow us to make a product that serves a global user base. Zapier will consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, consistent with applicable laws.\n\nZapier is committed to inclusion. As part of this commitment, Zapier welcomes applications from individuals with disabilities and will work to provide reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodations are needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact [email protected].\n\nApplication Deadline: The anticipated application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later, or if the position is filled.\n\nEven though weโ€™re an all-remote company, we still need to be thoughtful about where we have Zapiens working. Check out this resource for a list of countries where we currently cannot have Zapiens permanently working.\n\n#LI-Remote\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Python, Education, Cloud and Senior jobs that are similar:\n\n $52,500 — $85,000/year\n
