๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. \nClearmatics is a protocol engineering company. We are building a new financial market architecture that is more open, fair, and resilient than the legacy systems that are in use today. We develop protocols and software that create new markets for risk and more efficient infrastructure for trading, backed by a robust and scalable blockchain network, and secured with modern cryptographic techniques and economic mechanism design.\n\nClearmatics is based in London but operates on a 'remote first' model. We welcome candidates from all over the world. We have close ties to the Open Source and Ethereum communities, with Vitalik Buterin as an adviser.\n\nThe Engineering team at Clearmatics is responsible for developing our blockchain software at Layer 1 and Layer 2. At the core of our stack is the Autonity client, the node software that powers our blockchain network. It is based on Ethereum (go-ethereum) and is secured by Tendermint Proof-of-Stake consensus. Our decentralised platforms are built on smart contracts and decentralised applications, and are supported by backend services in Go.\n\nWe're looking to hire aย Senior Software Engineerย to expand our Layer 1 Engineering team.\n\nABOUT YOU\n\nAs an experienced backend software engineer with a good knowledge of blockchain protocols, you know what it takes to ship a secure, reliable, and performant blockchain node client. You write clean and maintainable code, and you take the time to promote good software engineering practices. You understand the importance of careful protocol design choices and can anticipate the impact of changes to the code base. You are able to communicate your thoughts clearly in writing and in discussions.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n* Develop and maintain the blockchain node client (go-ethereum fork) and related protocol smart contracts (Solidity)\n\n* Implement new protocol-level features based on academic papers, technical specifications, and proof of concepts\n\n* Refactor the code base for better maintainability and to meet performance and reliability requirements\n\n* Develop distributed system tests and frameworks to verify the correctness of our protocol and software\n\n* Participate in team and community decision-making about technical design and architecture considerations\n\n* Participate in code reviews and evaluating contributions from the open source community\n\n* Contribute to documenting and educating the community about our protocols and blockchain software\n\n* Address bugs reports or security incidents and engage with users and researchers to understand and resolve them\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 5+ years software development experience\n\n* Proficiency in a systems language like Go, Rust, or C++ with a focus on network and concurrent programming (Go is preferred)\n\n* Experience developing and debugging complex data structures, algorithms, and network I/O in a Linux environment\n\n* Development experience on a blockchain node client (preferably Ethereum-like) and familiarity with smart contract programming\n\n* Knowledge of blockchain fundamentals such as distributed consensus, peer-to-peer messaging, cryptography primitives\n\n\n\n\nBONUS POINTS\n\n\n* Knowledge of Ethereum protocols and technologies (e.g. devp2p, EVM, Web3, Solidity) and go-ethereum internals in particular\n\n* Ideally 2+ years solid experience with Go programming and some open source contributions that you can highlight\n\n* Knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals such as fault tolerance, consensus, voting, leader election, failure detection\n\n* Experience designing or implementing Proof of Stake and BFT-style consensus algorithms (e.g. Tendermint)\n\n\n\n\nDon't worry if you don't meet all the requirements. If you are talented and have what it takes, then we'd still like to hear from you.\n\nOur compensation isย blockchain competitiveย and dependent on your skills & experience. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Ethereum, Design, Node, Golang, Engineer, Linux and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n

You can learn more about us here: Twitter, Discord, Github. Someone who can write and deploy complex smart contract logic, a team player that will work alongside our group on designing and implementing product functionalities, and the core mechanisms that power Nexus.\n\n\n\n\nOur team is working with web3 technologies across the stack. The ideal person is someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, has a good understanding of Web3 primitives, is passionate about building scalable applications, and highly curious about DeFi and Crypto.\n\n\n\nApp layer: React.js, Redux, ReduxSaga, Reselect, GraphQL, Node.js, TypeScript, AssemblyScript, MongoDB\n\nWeb3: Solidity, OpenZeppelin, Chainlink oracles, Hardhat, Mocha, Chai, Tenderly, IPFS, The Graph, Ethers.js, Web3-onboard.js\n\nInfrastructure: AWS, CircleCI, Coveralls, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus\n\n\n\nAreas you'll contribute to\n\n\n* Writing and compiling Solidity Smart Contracts, including quirks and edge cases\n\n* Ethereum testnets and contract deployment scripts\n\n* Integrate with and fetch data from Oracles and The Graph\n\n* Assuring blockchain and web-client integration \n\n* Containerization of backend services\n\n\n\n\n\n* 1 year of Solidity development experience and experience with some of our tech stack, like Hardhat, Node.js, Typescript, Ethers.JS, Node.JS, IPFS.\n\n* Understanding of The Graph, Oracles, and the broader web3 tech stack\n\n* Knowledge of common smart contract development design patterns, industry standards (ERCs and EIPs), and best practices. Understand typical smart contract problems like reentrancy, migrations, and upgradeability of immutable systems.\n\n* Over 3 years of backend engineering and proficiency in languages like C++, Python, JavaScript, Typescript, C# or Core Java\n\n* Obsession with clean and secure code and a tendency to test your own work\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou will stand out if\n\n\n* You have expertise or interest in tokenomics, game theory, L2s, and DeFi protocols\n\n* You are self-motivated and eager to keep up with the fast pace of a small, remote startup team.\n\n* You have a low-ego attitude are willing to learn, grow and have product ownership.\n\n* You have an understanding of layer 2 protocols, bridges and blockchain interoperability\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout us\n\n\n* We are a small and dynamic team, passion for our work describes and sets the tone for everything that we do.\n\n* We are a fully remote organisation that strives to pave the way for the future of insurance\n\n* Our compensation package is comprised of a competitive fixed (fiat component) plus a generous token allocation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy are we doing this?\n\nThe concept of insurance comes from communities in the past that pooled their resources to protect each other from the risks they all faced. It works better the more people are in the pool as the numbers become more reliable. But this method isnโ€™t scalable because it is a trust-based system and the network of individuals trusted by everyone in the pool only extends so far. Hence traditional insurance companies emerged.\n\nWhen Ethereum and smart contracts came along we realized we could apply our insurance industry knowledge to our passion for decentralised technology. We realized we could build a mutual on a platform where individuals only need to trust the system, not everyone in it.\n\n\n\n\nSpecifically, we could see a solution to the problem of agencyโ€”where an insurer looks after customers' money on their behalf. We also saw the opportunity to make significant cost savings compared to the traditional insurance model. As weโ€™re already in the UK, we have the perfect base to build out this concept due to the existing law around mutuality.\n\n\n\n\nThe aim is to provide our members with more simple, transparent, accessible, and affordable financial protection against their risks.\n\nMore info here ๐Ÿ‘‰\nhttps://nexusmutual.gitbook.io/docs/welcome/faq/nexus-mutual-the-basics \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Solidity, Design, Web3, Ethereum, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $72,500 — $122,500/year\n

Clearmatics is hiring a
Remote Blockchain Core Developer Golang Ethereum

\n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Ethereum, Design, Node, Golang, Engineer, Linux and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $110,000/year\n

The economic incentives within the mutual solve the centralized insurance industry's core problem: the principal-agent problem.\n\n\nWhat we are looking for \n\n\n\nWe are looking for a Smart Contract Engineer who can help us build the premier on-chain risk marketplace for DeFi, CeFi and beyond. As weโ€™re already in the UK, we have the perfect base to build out this concept due to the existing law around mutuality.\n\n\n\n\nThe aim is to provide our members with more simple, transparent, accessible, and affordable financial protection against their risks.\n\nMore info here ๐Ÿ‘‰\nhttps://nexusmutual.gitbook.io/docs/welcome/faq/nexus-mutual-the-basics \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Solidity, Design, Web3, Ethereum, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $62,500 — $110,000/year\n
