80% of the global workforce is deskless, yet just 1% of all enterprise software funding is dedicated to serving these 2.7 billion people.\n\nAt Sona, our mission is to put cutting edge technology in the hands of every deskless employee to empower them to do their best work.\n\nWeโ€™re a rapidly growing, VC-backed B2B SaaS startup founded in the summer of 2021. We are fully remote, with overlapping โ€˜office hoursโ€™ during the mornings (GMT). \n\nWe are strong believers in giving everyone the autonomy to do their best work, when and how they prefer. That means youโ€™ll have a lot of flexibility and control over how to shape your job and work life, while getting all the support you need to succeed.\n\nWe take our health and mental health seriously, believing that we can only perform to our best when we are healthy and happy. Thatโ€™s why we work 4.5 day weeks, with a flexible half day that you can use as you choose. \n\nYou can learn more about the team and what itโ€™s like working at Sona [here](https://www.notion.so/getsona/Working-at-Sona-4e3c00206c414d8c9eb9b7a617cdc6d7)\n\n### About the role\nWe fundamentally believe that the best products are built when small, cross functional, autonomous teams are empowered to solve business problems as they see fit. Youโ€™ll be joining a pod which owns a particular area of the product and movement between product areas is encouraged and easy.\n\nEngineers are heavily involved throughout the product development process, inputting into the why and what as well as the how.\n\n*Our stack has two main components:*\n* A backend with a GraphQL API (for communicating with the Native App) and a web frontend built using Elixir and Phoenix Live View (the PETAL stack)\n* A native mobile application built in React Native + Typescript\n\nWe think in terms of โ€œT Shapedโ€ developers. This means that while all of us have some ability across the โ€œfull stackโ€, most of us have one side of the stack (e.g. Elixir or React Native) weโ€™re stronger on and spend the bulk of our time on.\n\nWeโ€™re passionate advocates of the Live View approach for building web applications and believe that itโ€™s one of the biggest step changes in productivity and developer experience since Ruby on Rails.\n\nLikewise we strongly believe in the benefits of the common, typesafe Android and iOS codebase that React Native combined with Typescript and GraphQL gives us. \n\nTypically when somebody starts working with us, they have strong experience with one side of the stack and then learn the other part on the job.\n\n### How We Work\nOur [engineering principles](https://www.notion.so/getsona/Engineering-Team-Principles-b83ffe9620a645e5920529ad79928c66)give a flavour of how we like to work. Weโ€™re a fully remote team spread across 4 countries (and growing). We have a company stand up most mornings at 10:00 UK time. We aim to have fully paid for company meetups roughly once per quarter.\n\nEverything starts with talking to customers. We like everyone in the company to regularly join either sales calls with new prospects or catch ups with existing customers\n\nWeโ€™re a small company with a strong preference for lightweight, asynchronous processes. \n\nWithin product we work in sprints with periodic retrospectives.\n\n### Interview Process\nOur hiring process follows this pattern:\n* Initial phone screen (30 minutes) focused primarily on approach to work, career goals and your questions about Sona\n* Technical Interview (1-2 hours) take us through a piece of code you're proud of and talk about how it's architected, what worked well and what you'd do differently if you wrote it again. If you don't have a suitable piece of code, we're also happy to pay you for half a days work to do a take home task. But we understand that everyone's busy so we'd much rather use some code you've already got where possible!\n* Founder Interview (1 hour), focused on why youโ€™re interested in Sona and your questions about the vision\n\n### Requirements\nWe love engineers who have a non nonsense approach to โ€œgetting it shippedโ€, who when given the choice between โ€œcomplicated and shinyโ€ vs โ€œget something simple in front of a userโ€ will always choose the latter.\n\nEverybodyโ€™s different, but a lot of the following probably applies to you:\n* You have extensive professional experience in either React Native or Elixir\n* If your experience is in React Native youโ€™re happy to talk about Typescript, the role of generics and when they should be used, how hooks changed how we build React Native apps and when one should consider writing custom hooks. Youโ€™d be equally happy explaining promises and how they interact with async / await.\n* If your experience is in Elixir youโ€™re passionate about LiveView and are comfortable talking about itโ€™s advantages and challenges\n* You have a strong preference towards taking ownership, making sure youโ€™re clear on what youโ€™re doing and why and then communicating progress over awaiting instruction\n* Youโ€™re in a country which is GMT +/- 3 and fluent communicating both verbally and in writing in English\n\n### Benefits\n* Competitive salary\n* 4.5 day standard working week\n* 37 days annual leave (25 days standard plus 12 flexible โ€˜bank holidayโ€™ days)\n* Share options\n* Fully remote and flexible working\n* Co-working space stipend\n* Free mental health support (On-demand online therapy & coaching)\n* Quarterly all expenses paid team retreats\n* The latest Macbook and equipment for your home office\n* Professional development budget\n* Unlimited free books \n\nPlease mention the word **AWE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNDM=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $90,000 — $120,000/year\n

# How do you apply?\n\nThis job post has been closed by the poster, which means they probably have enough applicants now. Please do not apply.

InvergeHQ is hiring a

Remote Full Stack Developer

InvergHQ is Hiring a Full Stack Developer as their second technical hire. Theyโ€™ll be working directly with the CTO and the other founders. This is an opportunity to be an early hire, work in all parts of the system, and help a fast-growing business go to the next level.\n\n## Who We Are\n\nAt its core, Inverge is a platform that helps brands and wholesalers connect with their retailers and gives everyone the tools they need to sell more easily and efficiently.\n\nOur users are able to have one tool to get their products in the hands of customers anywhere they are with minimal effort. They can dive in deep and run every aspect of their business or just use a single piece. This could be a brand connecting to thousands of retailers across the country for both drop shipping and replenishment, sharing a single uniform catalog, managing all of their warehousing and fulfillment for orders coming from any channel; be that a retailer, B2B website, marketplace, or B2C website. This could also be a small store looking to simplify its inventory management and understand its customers better.\n\nOur existing team is composed of three founders. All are based in the areas surrounding New York City.\n\nSince our soft launch, weโ€™ve been able to attract well-known brands and as we gear up for a formal launch and an aggressive marketing/sales initiative, weโ€™re expanding our team.\n\nWe are preparing to grow rapidly and are looking for the right person to join us. This will be a critical role in our technology growth and will work directly with the Co-Founder and CTO.\n\nHaving your hands in all parts of the system, youโ€™ll have an opportunity to build a team around you and shape how we serve our users.\n\n## About the Role\n\nThis is an opportunity to face a variety of challenges and find what excites you.\n\nIf you love data, analyzing it, and building algorithms to make peoplesโ€™ lives easier, there are tons of opportunities for that.\n\nIf you love communicating with different APIs and bringing information together, the opportunities are virtually limitless.\n\nIf you love taking things apart and seeing how you can make them work better or simplify things, there is plenty of opportunity for that.\n\nIf you love solving problems we are a team that loves to find the hardest problems and work together to solve them.\n\nOur team is curious and always looking to grow and learn.\n\nYouโ€™ll have your hands in the entire system. This will include updating and optimizing existing features, fixing bugs, and developing new features.\n\nYouโ€™ll also be critical in our transition to a serverless API-based architecture and will be facilitating that process. Youโ€™ll have an important role in implementing the standards and procedures needed for collaboration as we grow our development team.\n\nThe job will start full-time and from the beginning youโ€™ll be working closely with the CTO to be trained on the usage of the in-house built PHP MVC dependency injection framework that the main application is built on. Once a fundamental understanding is reached, youโ€™ll jump right in on projects that need to be addressed right away which will grow in complexity as their experience grows.\n\nThis hire weโ€™re making will be the second technical member on the team and will play a critical role in the initial growth of the company. Youโ€™ll be working with the entire founding team but primarily with the CTO.\n\nIn the beginning, youโ€™ll be working primarily with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery. This will transition into primarily Node.js and Serverless Framework replacing the PHP. To a lesser extent at the beginning, you will also be working with React and React Native. You will be building on AWS using EC2, RDS, Elasticache, Lambda, and API Gateway. The collaboration will happen using Git (Bitbucket), Jira, and Trello.\n\nOur day-to-day direct communication is through Slack and email. We manage projects and the roadmap using Trello and Jira. We manage the codebase using Bitbucket.\n\nThe start date is as soon as possible. We are beginning to scale and need to grow our team to continue the development of and maintain our current platform.\n\n## Projects and Day to Day Work\n\nThere is a significant amount of autonomy. There are clear goals and priorities but the actual implementation and timing are flexible. For the most part, our new hire is expected to be self-motivated and complete their work. Youโ€™ll have access to the rest of the team as needed but shouldnโ€™t expect to be babysat as long as their work is being completed.\n\nA majority of your time initially will be spent working on the existing PHP/MySQL application. We have many features that need to be added on an ongoing basis. There are also numerous areas that need optimization or tweaks to simplify support. This will range from developing stand-alone applications such as activity tracking across the entire application to adding an interface for changing the comparison date on a sales dashboard to debugging image ordering in existing API integration to developing an entirely new API integration for managing products, inventory, and orders. That initial work will transition to developing these features in the serverless architecture using Node.js.\n\nWe are in the process of exposing the entire application via API. A major part of this role will be assisting in this transition, slowly swapping out the PHP backend with a new implementation in Node.js. You would be expected to have good fundamentals and ability to code in PHP but primarily be experienced in and interested in Node development.\n\n## Long Term and Growth\n\nIn the long term, this person will be managing a team, setting priorities, and overseeing development.\n\nYou will have the opportunity to work with a variety of languages and frameworks. You will not be expected to know everything but show a track record of being curious and wanting to learn. There will be a lot of opportunities to find the projects that you find the most interesting, be it integrating with different APIs or optimizing AWS infrastructure, or developing Native modules. You are coming into a company with a solid foundation at a time when everything is being looked at for improvement. You will hopefully have a huge say in how things are structured and how projects are prioritized.\n\n## Who You Are\n\nWe are looking for someone who is self-motivated and ready to take initiative. We are not looking for someone who needs to be told what to do on a daily basis. We are looking for someone who loves solving problems but doesnโ€™t always go with the first thing that comes to mind. You also consider how this solution might be able to solve the next problem too while being mindful of when spending more time on something in the short term is appropriate. You will be working in a rapidly changing environment and will not be expected to know everything but be very interested in learning new things. Youโ€™ll be expected to have worked on teams in production environments and bring their experience and best practices to aid us in this growth period.\n\n## Required Skills\n\n* PHP\n* Nodejs\n* Typescript\n* MySQL\n* HTML/CSS/jQuery\n* Linux\n\n## Nice to Have Skills\n\n* TypeORM\n* Express\n* React/React Native\n* Serverless\n\n## Required Experience\n\n* API integrations\n* Using existing SDK as well as from the ground up\n* Decent UI/UX skillsโ€“by no means Rembrandt but able to make things logical to use and good to look at\n* Standard Git use\n* Experience deploying and maintaining production applications on AWS\n* EC2\n* RDS\n* ELB\n* S3\n* Lambda\n* API Gateway\n\nBackground in eCommerce or understanding of retail is a big plus. We are always needing to put ourselves in the shoes of our clients to figure out the best way to solve the next problem and if you donโ€™t know what an SKU or a PO is itโ€™ll be hard to do that.\n\nLocation: At least a partial day overlap with a standard EST workday.\n\nIf you think youโ€™d be a good fit, weโ€™d love to hear from you!\n\n*Inverge asks respectfully to only apply through the application form and do not email/apply directly to Inverge. Any applications sent directly to Inverge will not be considered. Recruiters and Agencies please do not contact Inverge directly.* \n\nPlease mention the word **PERFECTION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNDM=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $90,000 — $120,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nRemote in Europe, North America, and South America

* ๐Ÿ’ชBuild Your Team\n* ๐Ÿ’ธ $350 Referral Bonus \n* ๐Ÿ•˜ Partial day overlap EST\n* ๐Ÿ”‘ Work with the Founders\n* ๐Ÿ’ก 3-7 Years of Experience\n* ๐Ÿ—บ Anywhere in the United States or Europe\n\n**Get Paid**: If you recommend this job to the person that gets hired, we will give you a $350 referral bonus! How will we contact you about giving you your bonus? Tell your referral to list your name and/or email in the โ€œHow did you hear about this job?โ€ question. Once theyโ€™re hired, weโ€™ll make sure you get paid.\n\n## Summary\n\nInvergHQ is Hiring a Full Stack Developer as their second technical hire. Theyโ€™ll be working directly with the CTO and the other founders. This is an opportunity to be an early hire, work in all parts of the system, and help a fast-growing business go to the next level.\n\n## Who We Are\n\nAt its core, [Inverge](https://invergehq.com/) is a platform that helps brands and wholesalers connect with their retailers and gives everyone the tools they need to sell more easily and efficiently.\n\nOur users are able to have one tool to get their products in the hands of customers anywhere they are with minimal effort. Youโ€™ll be expected to have worked on teams in production environments and bring their experience and best practices to aid us in this growth period.\n\n## Required Skills\n\n* PHP\n* Node.js\n* Typescript\n* MySQL\n* HTML/CSS/jQuery\n* Linux\n\n## Nice to Have Skills\n\n* TypeORM\n* Express\n* React/React Native\n* Serverless\n\n## Required Experience\n\n* API integrations\n* Using existing SDK as well as from the ground up\n* Decent UI/UX skillsโ€“by no means Rembrandt but able to make things logical to use and good to look at\n* Standard Git use\n* Experience deploying and maintaining production applications on AWS\n* EC2\n* RDS\n* ELB\n* S3\n* Lambda\n* API Gateway\n\nBackground in eCommerce or understanding of retail is a big plus. We are always needing to put ourselves in the shoes of our clients to figure out the best way to solve the next problem and if you donโ€™t know what an SKU or a PO is itโ€™ll be hard to do that.\n\nLocation: At least a partial day overlap with a standard EST workday.\n\nIf you think youโ€™d be a good fit, weโ€™d love to hear from you!\n\nInverge asks respectfully to only apply through the application form and do not email/apply directly to Inverge. Any applications sent directly to Inverge will not be considered. Recruiters and Agencies please do not contact Inverge directly. \n\nPlease mention the words **SEGMENT FLOAT PRIMARY** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNDM=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $80,000 — $120,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nUnited States or Europe

Sona is hiring a

Remote Senior Elixir React Native Engineer

**What weโ€™re doing**\n\n80% of the global workforce doesnโ€™t sit behind a desk - think retail assistants, waiters, bartenders, care assistants, nurses and so on. But up until now only 1% of funding has gone into building tools for them.\n\nAs a desk based worker itโ€™s hard to imagine working without tools like Slack, Trello and Gmail, but for much of the deskless workforce, thatโ€™s the current state of play.\n\nThe only way to find out what shifts youโ€™re working is to look at a print out taped to the break room wall. Changes to shifts are scribbled on the printout, photographed then sent to WhatsApp groups. Managers spend hours calling and texting trying and often not succeeding to fill overtime shifts. Payslips are sent in the post or accessed via web 1.0 portals and holiday is requested either in-person or through clunky legacy kiosks. And thatโ€™s just the tip of the iceberg.\n\nThe result is a dissatisfied workforce, soaring rates of attrition and tens of billions wasted in lost productivity, re-hiring and unnecessary agency spend. \n\nThis same workforce is accustomed to the very best in user experience, WhatsApp for messaging, Monzo for banking and AirBnB for holidays.\n\nSo where is the work app?\n\nThatโ€™s what weโ€™re building at Sona. The single app that will deliver a best in class user experience for deskless workers to manage their entire work life.\n\nWeโ€™re still early on in our journey so anyone getting involved has scope to have a huge impact. \n\nWeโ€™ve raised a $2.2m pre-seed round from some amazing investors including SpeedInvest and Notion Capital. We have a highly experienced founding team and amazing sales, marketing and customer success people as well as some exceptional engineering and product design talent. \n\n**About the role**\n\nYouโ€™ll be working as part of a fully remote, close knit product team. We use Github + ZenHub for code hosting and project management and operate an extremely lightweight sprint based process.\n\nWe like engineers to be heavily involved throughout the product development process, not just in building.\n\nOur stack has two main components:\n\n* A backend with a GraphQL API and web frontend built using Elixir and Phoenix Live View\n* A native mobile application built in React Native + Typescript\n\nWe think in terms of โ€œT Shapedโ€ developers. This means that while all of us have some ability across the โ€œfull stackโ€, most of us have one side of the stack (e.g. Elixir or React Native) weโ€™re stronger on and spend the bulk of our time on.\n\nTypically when somebody starts working with us, they have strong experience with one side of the stack and then learn the other part on the job. \n\n\n**About You**\n\nWe love engineers who have a non nonsense approach to โ€œgetting it shippedโ€, who when given the choice between โ€œcomplicated and shinyโ€ vs โ€œget something simple in front of a userโ€ will always choose the latter. \n\nEverybodyโ€™s different, but a lot of the following probably applies to you:\n\n* You have extensive professional experience in Elixir or React Native (you don't need both!!)\n* If your experience is in Elixir, youโ€™re happy to talk about OTP, Erlang, Beam and how these relate to each other. Youโ€™ve built things using LiveView and are comfortable talking about itโ€™s advantages and challenges. \n* If your experience is in React Native youโ€™re happy to talk about Typescript, the role of generics and when they should be used, what hooks are, how they changed how we build React Native apps and when one should consider writing custom hooks. Youโ€™d be equally happy explaining promises and how they interact with async / await\n* You have a strong preference for over-communication, and take ownership of ensuring you fully understand what youโ€™re working on\n* Youโ€™re in a country which is GMT +/- 3 and fluent communicating both verbally and in writing in English \n\n**How We Work**\n\nWeโ€™re a fully remote team spread across 4 countries (and growing). We have a company stand up most mornings at 10:00 UK time. We aim to have fully paid for company meetups roughly once per quarter. \n\nEverything starts with talking to customers. We like everyone in the company to regularly join either sales calls with new prospects or catch ups with existing customers \n\nWeโ€™re a small company with a strong preference for lightweight, asynchronous processes. Within product we work in sprints with periodic retrospectives.\n\n**Interview Process**\n\nOur interview process follows this pattern:\n\n* Initial phone screen (15-30 minutes) focused primarily on approach to work, career goals and your questions about Sona\n* Technical Interview (1-2 hours) take us through a piece of code you're proud of and talk about how it's architected, what worked well and what you'd do differently if you wrote it again. If you don't have a suitable piece of code, we're also happy to pay you for half a days work to do a take home task. But we understand that everyone's busy so we'd much rather use some code you've already got where possible!\n* Founder Interview (1 hour), focused on why youโ€™re interested in Sona and your questions about the vision\n\n**Benefits**\n\n* Competitive salary\n* Employee share option scheme\n* New M1 Macbook + equipment grant for home office\n* Co-working stipend \n* 4.5 day standard working week (take your half day out when it suits you)\n* Unlimited free books \n\nPlease mention the words **WORLD DIAL HUNT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNDM=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

\n\n#Location\nEurope (GMT +/- 3)

\nOctane AI is a venture-backed chatbots and messaging startup seeking a Full-Stack Engineer interested in building the future of bots and artificial intelligence. \n\nOctane AI is the leading conversational marketing automation platform for ecommerce. We use messaging channels like Facebook Messenger and SMS to improve the shopping experience for Shopify merchants and their customers. We work closely with Shopify, Klaviyo, Yotpo, and other top tech platforms in the ecommerce space. We are pioneering the future of ecommerce through conversational commerce. We are an all-remote company and venture backed, some of our investors include General Catalyst, Boost VC, and M Ventures. \n\nYou will work directly with our CTO Leif K-Brooks (founder and creator of Omegle, the largest chat platform of its kind, used by millions daily), our Director of Engineering, and our product team, to help build Octane AI's back-end technology and front-end experience. You will be in charge of building and implementing new plugins and features. You will be a critical member of the team, impacting our customers and revenue with the features you develop. \n\nMore about working in Engineering at Octane AI \n\n-We believe the happier you are, the more productive you and the team are. Being a remote company allows us to work from wherever we'd prefer. Spend your evenings and weekends with your family/friends/hobbies. \n- We hate bureaucracy. Feel free to talk to anyone in the team.  \n- Your ideas are welcome. If you know how to improve our codebase, our product, our processes, don't be shy to share it. \n- In our weekly meetings we do a fun thing called "fast parrot". Everybody, including the CEO, is involved. It's a little weird and fun at the same time, especially if you are doing a meeting from a public place. \n- Our release process involves code review. In rare cases, we deploy without it, but we try hard to make sure at least one more pair of eyes looks at the code. \n- Flexible working hours. We have only two meetings a week (they're back-to-back) where the whole team participates and it's necessary to be online. For the rest of the time, it's up to you to choose the most productive schedule for your work.  \n- Three days a month we have "maintenance days" where you choose what to work on. Usually we work on tech debt, i.e. code cleanup or purely tech improvements. \n- Don't work if you are sick. It's way better to rest and recover quicker than work at half power for a long time. \n- If you feel you are stuck with a task don't hesitate to ask for help. There are no stupid questions, nobody expects you to know everything.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n\n\n* Work with the product team and engineering teammates to develop and implement new features and plugins for Octane AI. A well-rounded & diversified engineer is ideal for this role. If you love working with frontend mostly, that's also fine as long as you are able to change backend whenever needed.\n\n* Transform our roadmap and your ideas into scalable products and features. You will have the power to guide the direction of the company and the (many) features we build.\n\n* Implement new integrations within Octane AI. You will be working with the Facebook API and the APIs of products and services that we will be integrating into our bots and the Octane AI platform. You should be adept at learning new APIs.\n\n* Help develop and improve Octane AI's architecture.\n\n* Work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced startup environment. Be flexible enough to take on any task.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n\n\n* 3-8+ years of frontend and backend-back development work. The ideal candidate is a top-tier developer who is comfortable in a startup environment -- AKA putting out fires, learning on-the-fly, and thrives on change and new challenges.\n\n* Critical skills: Python, Javascript (We use React.js).\n\n* Important: Experience working with the Facebook API, Redis, AWS DDB.\n\n* Nice to have: ES6/ES7, SASS, React-bootstrap, Redux, Functional programming experience\n\n* Please provide code samples or links to repositories with your code, along with an explanation of your programming philosophy. The more we can understand the way you think about code, the better. It's not an issue if you can't share a piece of code because of an NDA or something else.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBENEFITS\n\n\n\n\n* The ability to work from anywhere in the world. Our team works from New York, Portland, Barcelona, Austin, Canada, Serbia, Slovenia and more. As long as you can get the work done, we don't care where you are!\n\n* Excellent health benefits: health, dental and vision insurance for US employees\n\n* 401(k) for US employees\n\n* Flexible vacation policy, paid holidays, sick leave and parental leave\n\n* Fitness and home office credits. We want your workspace to be your happy place.\n\n* Generous stock options\n\n* Growth and leadership opportunities. We invest in the tools and training that will help your long-term career.\n\n* An amazing team of wonderfully driven and talented people\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Octane AI \n\nOctane AI is the bot platform for ecommerce. Octane AI's Facebook Messenger marketing automation software helps Shopify merchants send abandoned cart messages, create custom flows, and increase their sales and revenue. Thousands of merchants and businesses trust Octane AI for their Messenger bots, including GoPro, Pure Cycles, Cover FX, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Maroon 5, and more. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Engineer, Full Stack, JavaScript, Music, API, Marketing, Sales, Backend, Ecommerce and Shopify jobs that are similar:\n\n $65,000 — $120,000/year\n
