โก๏ธ Vision\nWeโve entered the third era of the internet - an internet owned by the builders and the users. We believe web3 matters. Blockchains, at their core, enable digital property rights, and NFTs are the core technical primitive for unique (non-fungible) digital property.\n\n\nWe are moving from the early days of cryptocurrency - focused on crypto trading - to a world of web3 usage, where digital property is embedded with utility.\n\nOrganizations have formed, and will increasingly form, around the ownership and usage of NFTs and other digital assets.\n\nIn the future, every organization will own and utilize digital assets, in the way that every organization owns and utilizes physical assets.\n\n\n\n๐ฏย Our Product\nCurrent wallet software for organizations is built around financial operations, not complex usage scenarios. This leads to organizations having multiple wallet providers for various purposes, each with varying levels of security/governance and management capabilities. This complexity increases drastically with organization size.\nNarval is the unified wallet governance platform for organizations.\nWe provide the most advanced policy engine to govern which actions an individual, partner, or service provider can perform with organization-owned wallets and digital assets. We then abstract all the key management/custody models into a unified management console, and expose an API for integrating with the rest of an organizationโs web3 tooling stack.\n๐คย Founding Team\nFounded by Greg Jessner & Matt Schoch.\nWeโre a remote-first team: Greg lives in Paris, France. Matt lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.\nWeโre backed by leading web3 investors: Fabric, a16z CSS, Frst, and more.\n๐ย What We Value\nWeโre building the next era of the internet. Thereโs no playbook for this. Therefore, we value:\n\n\nCreative problem solvers who reason from first principles\n\nHaving a healthy disrespect for rules; we break rules that donโt make sense\n\nBuilders of systems; you canโt scale without repeatable process\n\nA hunger to grow. We actively seek new information and skills out of habit, not obligation.\n\n\nWe work remotely. Thereโs no one to watch over your shoulder. Therefore, we value:\n\n\nHonesty; we start from trust and assume the best in each other\n\nDeep sense of ownership and internal motivation; we care about our work and we work hard\n\nBias for action; an ability to ship. Activity without finished output is worthless\n\nOver-communication; we proactively share information and clarify assumption\n\n\nWeโre solving hard problems, and hard problems canโt be solved alone. Therefore, we value:\n\n\nHumility. Ask questions, admit failings, accept support; thereโs no glory in silent struggle\n\nInitiative to identify opportunities; our work isnโt siloed, good ideas can come from anywhere\n\nBeing excited by challenges; we love what we do and have fun building together, online or IRL\n\nA team mindset. We share credit, highlight each otherโs strengths, and believe 1 + 1 = 3.\n\n\n\n๐ปย Our Tech\nWe seek to use the best modern technologies and bias to pragmatic tooling that is battle-tested and maintainable. We default to Typescript across the stack.\nOur core stack includes:\nNext.js, Tailwind, GraphQL, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, AWS, KMS, Docker, Jest\nWeโre currently focused on supporting all EVM-compatible chains.\n๐ซต Join Our Team\nWeโre looking for highly capable individuals who share our vision and want to build something massive. Weโre currently a 4-person team. Every person has a significant impact on shaping our product and our team culture.\nWe work remotely & gather IRL a few times per year.\nSenior Engineer - Frontend\nThe Role\nYou will take lead building our user-facing applications, creating a component library & working with design on implementing a design system, mentoring & guiding other engineers, and ultimately being responsible for the user experience at Narval. Our core stack is React/Next.js and GraphQL, and youโll have freedom to shape the rest - we expect you to keep us on the cutting edge, guiding when to build custom and where to leverage third-party libraries.\nWhat weโre looking for\nGreat engineers can learn new tools, so this is more an idea of some of what weโre using\n\n\n4+ years of professional experience on a software development team\n\nHighly proficient with React & Next.js (Typescript)\n\nExpertise in client-side data management, including with GraphQL, REST, gRPC.\n\nExperience working fullstack building APIs and working with databases.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills (English)\n\nExperience or a strong interest in crypto / web3\n\nBased in the US or Europe\n\n\n\nThis role reports to the CTO.\nNarval offers competitive salary & benefits based on experience, employee equity, and a stipend to buy an NFT of your choice.\n
