\nVarSome.com is the world’s prime reference for genetic variant interpretation. With over 500 citations in scientific papers and 300K users, we are seeking to bring together all human expertise in molecular genetics and make it available to doctors and researchers worldwide to improve the lives of their patients.\n\nYou will be joining our front-end development team as an experienced JavaScript front-end web developer - depending on experience this can become a team-lead role. Our core frontend technologies include the ReactJS Javascript framework but we also utilize the Vue JS framework on particular applications, using webpack to bundle CSS, LESS or SASS and Javascript code into reusable components. A Python based REST API layer backed by a high-performance C++ back-end and proprietary database formats optimised for genetic information, provides data to our frontend stack. Our platform is entirely Linux based, hosted in Google Cloud as well as our own high-security data-centre. We follow an Agile development process, most projects will touch multiple developers across the stack, but we keep individual tasks small (3 to 5 days) to remain responsive and deliver consistently.\n\nYour main responsibility will be to deliver an integrated suite of interactive UI components. You will play a key role in their design, working with back-end developers and genetic experts, to ensure our users are able to work efficiently and accurately. We deal with vast quantities of scientific data which presents a real challenge in understanding how best to display it, providing many opportunities for innovation. \n\nThis is a fully remote role: our core development team is located around Athens (though even our local staff work mostly from home), with other developers in the UK & Switzerland. Everybody speaks good English and the company is very experienced in coordinating a regionally distributed team, using an Agile work-flow. There will also be opportunities to travel occasionally, once Covid restrictions are lifted, to meet co-workers in person for off-sites or specific projects. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nScalable Path is looking for a Frontend React Developer for E-Commerce Analytics Product to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, full-time position, but the client is also open to part-time availability.\n\nThe pay rate for this role is from $30 - $50 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability.\n\nCLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:\nThe client is a SaaS startup backed by an established company with 50+ employees and over $100 million in annual revenue. The new product you will be working with has a smaller team and is focused on providing analytics and insights to companies who sell their products in marketplaces like Amazon.com and Walmart.com.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThe client has an existing monolithic web application that is built using PostgreSQL, Python (Flask). There are essentially 6 user dashboards that communicate different types of e-commerce data to the user (sales, traffic, ad spending, ROI, sentiment analysis, etc.). The HTML for these dashboards is currently being served by Flask and their appearance is rather generic. The client is redesigning each of the 6 dashboards and customizing each one to display data in precisely the way that makes the most sense for the specific data being displayed on the given page. The UX designer is using Framer and has already completed the new design for one of the dashboards.\n\nYour job will be to implement the new designs while simultaneously converting the dashboard from a monolithic page that is rendered on the server to a React/Redux-based page that consumes an API. For this reason, if you have experience with Python and Flask this would be a big bonus since you could help with the development of the API as well if needed.\n\nThe client uses Git for source control, Notion for task tracking, and Slack, Gmail, and Hangouts for communication.\n\nOther Responsibilities:\n- Collaborate with QA to write unit and integration tests for React/Redux.\n- Recommend the right JavaScript libraries for things like testing and charting\n- Assist with high-level architectural decisions keeping in mind scale and growth.\n- Deploy code to staging and production environments.\n- Positively contribute to a solid mission and be a critical voice within the team.\n\nRELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:\nYou will be reporting to the VP of Product and working closely with a UX Designer. There is also a full-stack developer, data scientist, and QA specialist on the team. There is an existing daily meeting at 10:00 am America/Chicago (-05:00) CDT.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\n- Excellent written and spoken English\n- JavaScript (React and Redux)\n- HTML\n- CSS\n- Experience with data visualization libraries (such as D3.js or Plotly)\n- Experience with Automated Testing (Unit, Integration, and Performance)\n\nDESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:\n- Python (Flask)\n- PostgreSQL\n- Google Cloud Hosting\n\nSTART DATE:\nAs soon as possible.\n\nEXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:\n2-4 months if working full-time (and potentially longer)\n\nNOTES:\nThe client prefers full-time but is open to candidates who are an excellent fit but may only available part-time. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nDescription: The Barnes Foundation is seeking a Lead Web Developer to architect and create the foundation for a number of new technology initiatives ranging from web, wearable, and machine learning technologies. We are looking for someone with a breadth of knowledge including best practices in front and back end coding, systems architecture, and web design to lead us into the near future.\n\nThe Barnes is fully rethinking all aspects of visitor facing technology. As such, you will have the opportunity to build our new technology stack—from the web server all the way to frontend libraries—from a blank slate in the way you think will work best for maintainability, scalability, security, and reliability. While some early decisions have been made, you’ll be working to analyze those choices while thinking about the best past forward for a number of forward-thinking projects. \n\nIn addition to working on new digital projects, you will be responsible for creating technology standards and guidelines designed to foster maintainable coding practices and system design while ensuring these standards are implemented across all consultant projects. You will be responsible for conducting code reviews, security audits and any other inspections necessary to ensure projects meet the standards you will help establish. Projects under your supervision will need to be integrated into our new cloud infrastructure. This may include the creation of continuous integration infrastructure to handle the deployment of these projects as they are developed and maintained, as well as a means of managing the security concerns and many software dependencies these projects will introduce.\n\nIn this role, you may be coding projects onsite or overseeing consultant teams across multiple cities acting as a project liaison. As projects launch, you’ll be responsible for server maintenance and maintenance automation, including backups, disaster planning, patching and upgrading. You’ll be reporting to the Chief Technology Officer in addition to working closely with the Deputy Director of Digital Initiatives and Chief Experience Officer. This position can be performed remotely, but ideally based in Philadelphia or New York City and will require occasional commutes to both of those cities. \n\nWe are open to hiring this role as a full-time or part-time position depending on needs of the right candidate.\n\nAbout Us: Established as an educational institution the Barnes Foundation carries out its mission by promoting appreciation of the arts and horticultural science, through the preservation, presentation, and interpretation of the collections of Albert C. and Laura L. Barnes.\n\nCelebrated for its exceptional breadth, depth, and quality, the Barnes Foundation’s art collection includes works by some of the greatest European and American masters of impressionism, post-impressionist, and early modern art, as well as African sculpture, Pennsylvania German decorative arts, Native American textiles, metalwork, and more.
