Omni Network is hiring a
Remote Senior Golang Engineer

About\nWeโ€™re building Omni: a platform allowing developers to deploy applications across all rollups without fragmenting liquidity. Weโ€™re looking for early team members to help us bring this ambitious vision to life.\nWeโ€™re a team who already built a platform that processed over $70M leading to our $18M fundraise from top investors including Pantera, Two Sigma Ventures, Coinbase Ventures alongside angel investors including Stani Kulechov (founder of Aave), Sandeep Nailwal (cofounder of Polygon) and more. In addition to this our most recent testnet onboarded over 300,000 users in less than two months. We are growing rapidly and we need ambitious and experienced team members to join us to help scale Ethereum's future.\nAbout the role:\nEngineers who join the team in this role will be responsible for designing and implementing foundational components of the Omni stack. This involves working heavily with Golang, Tendermint, Eigenlayer, interoperability components, and off-chain services while also having responsibilities to collaborate with the wider engineering team to improve our overall architecture and code quality.Responsibilities\n\n* Develop our core software stack โ€“ consensus and execution layers, Eigenlayer integration, and messaging protocol โ€“ from the design stage all the way to production ready implementations. Primarily in golang.\n\n* Build a modular interoperability standard that is highly secure while also being flexible enough to incorporate future innovations in the interoperability space\n\n* Build a network of validators that leverages restaked $ETH to secure the Omni chain\n\n* Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain our node software and off-chain coordinating agents to power our distributed network\n\n* Improve the design of peerโ€™s architecture through thoughtful, professionally communicated feedback.\n\n* Contribute to open source projects and play a role in building out the crypto ecosystem at large.\n\n\nRequirements\n\n* 3-7+ years of experience in a backend software engineering role with Go\n\n* 2-4+ years of experience developing a blockchain client / node that launched mainnet in production with > $50m at stake\n\n* Experience architecting, deploying, and maintaining a production system with > $100m and/or 1m users at stake\n\n* Extensive experience managing the software development life cycle for medium to large projects\n\n* Experience with AWS, GCP or similar cloud providers\n\n* Desire to keep up with modern best practices in software development and crypto, and shape our tech stack as we build out new systems and services\n\n* Daily overlap with 9am-12pm EST\n\n\nCompetencies\n\n* Autonomous โ€” specifically seeks to take greater ownership and responsibility and thrives in their personal growth by doing so\n\n* Action oriented โ€” we are looking for people who take action by default, consistently driving forward progress without asking for permission\n\n* An engineer in both thought and implementation โ€” they must be able to design architecture and see it through to implementation\n\n* Adaptable โ€” thrives in ambiguity, able to quickly iterate and push forward as the business dynamically expands\n\n* Highly intelligent โ€” learns quickly and can participate in abstract intellectually engaging conversations\n\n* Effective communicator โ€” clearly articulates ideas and engages in debates in a productive manner that leads us to making better decisions\n\n\nNice to Haves\n\n* Experience scaling out infrastructure for distributed services\n\n* Experience building a system with a distributed consensus mechanism\n\n* Deep understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine\n\n\nOur benefits include competitive compensation, early stage equity allocations, team outings and unlimited PTO. In addition, you'll join a team of high caliber engineers who are innovating at the frontier of crypto that all work collaboratively to help one another accelerate their growth.\nWe are a mission driven company. We believe deeply that through software engineering we can build a self-sovereign society. In our day to day, we make decisions based upon our company values of Individual Autonomy, Long-Term Orientation and Open Access.\nThe future belongs to all of us, independent of our origins. If youโ€™re looking to work in a fast-paced, high-impact team and help shape the direction of our product and company, this position is for you.\n\n\nWeโ€™re backed by some of the best investors in the valley and offer competitive pay, an equity grant in the company, and full benefits.\n\n\nAbout Caldera\n\n\nCaldera enables dynamic, scalable blockchain experiences. Currently, dapps that are deployed to general-purpose blockchain compete with thousands of other applications for space on the network โ€” this can lead to congestion and high fees or even network outages.\n\n\nThatโ€™s where we come in. Weโ€™re building software that makes it easy for the most innovative blockchain applications to launch their own ultra-performant blockchains (rollups), enabling applications to own their ecosystem, scale to millions of users, and provide a superior user experience to their players.\n\n\nWeโ€™re located in San Francisco, and work in-person from the Financial District\n\n\nAs a Systems Engineer at Caldera, you will:\n\n\n\n * Help architect the blockchain node that comprises the backbone of our software offering. Youโ€™ll be working on the cutting edge of blockchain scaling, building a new kind of layer two.\n\n * Make improvements to the virtual machine that runs Ethereum smart contract code\n\n * Design and implement end-to-end product features driven by the needs of developers\n\n * Evaluate database backends, networking libraries, and other tools and help make decisions as to which should be included in our stack\n\n * Help build out our devops pipeline, allowing Caldera Chains to be deployed reliably and securely\n\n\n\n\n\nYou might be a fit for this role if you...\n\n\n\n * Have a deep knowledge of Go, Rust or similar languages\n\n * Have experience working with distributed or embedded systems before\n\n * Love writing fast, well-optimized, well-tested, clean code\n\n * Are confident with performance optimization, identifying bottlenecks and scalability concerns\n\n * Have familiarity with distributed systems concepts like CAP theorem, and enjoy thinking through and designing around trade-offs\n\n * Are occasionally willing to get your hands dirty tackling devops problems\n\n\n\n\n\nBonus points if you...\n\n\n\n * Are familiar with how blockchains like Ethereum or Bitcoin work under the hood\n\n * Are up-to-date with Ethereum scaling solutions such as sidechains or rollups\n\n * Have implemented or used a consensus algorithm (eg. Paxos/Raft, pBFT, tendermint, ...) in the past\n\n * Have an understanding of cryptography primitives, such as hash functions or digital signatures\n\n * Have built Ethereum โ€œdappsโ€ with Solidity or Yul\n\n * Have significant open-source contributions, especially in blockchain clients/node software, databases, networking, or programming languages/frameworks\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Solidity, Ethereum, DevOps, Node and Engineer jobs that are similar:\n\n $75,000 — $115,000/year\n

Remote Blockchain Core Developer Golang Ethereum

\nClearmatics is a protocol engineering company. We are building a new financial market architecture that is more open, fair, and resilient than the legacy systems that are in use today. We develop protocols and software that create new markets for risk and more efficient infrastructure for trading, backed by a robust and scalable blockchain network, and secured with modern cryptographic techniques and economic mechanism design.\n\nClearmatics is based in London but operates on a 'remote first' model. We welcome candidates from all over the world. We have close ties to the Open Source and Ethereum communities, with Vitalik Buterin as an adviser.\n\nThe Engineering team at Clearmatics is responsible for developing our blockchain software at Layer 1 and Layer 2. At the core of our stack is the Autonity client, the node software that powers our blockchain network. It is based on Ethereum (go-ethereum) and is secured by Tendermint Proof-of-Stake consensus. Our decentralised platforms are built on smart contracts and decentralised applications, and are supported by backend services in Go.\n\nWe're looking to hire aย Senior Software Engineerย to expand our Layer 1 Engineering team.\n\nABOUT YOU\n\nAs an experienced backend software engineer with a good knowledge of blockchain protocols, you know what it takes to ship a secure, reliable, and performant blockchain node client. You write clean and maintainable code, and you take the time to promote good software engineering practices. You understand the importance of careful protocol design choices and can anticipate the impact of changes to the code base. You are able to communicate your thoughts clearly in writing and in discussions.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n* Develop and maintain the blockchain node client (go-ethereum fork) and related protocol smart contracts (Solidity)\n\n* Implement new protocol-level features based on academic papers, technical specifications, and proof of concepts\n\n* Refactor the code base for better maintainability and to meet performance and reliability requirements\n\n* Develop distributed system tests and frameworks to verify the correctness of our protocol and software\n\n* Participate in team and community decision-making about technical design and architecture considerations\n\n* Participate in code reviews and evaluating contributions from the open source community\n\n* Contribute to documenting and educating the community about our protocols and blockchain software\n\n* Address bugs reports or security incidents and engage with users and researchers to understand and resolve them\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 5+ years software development experience\n\n* Proficiency in a systems language like Go, Rust, or C++ with a focus on network and concurrent programming (Go is preferred)\n\n* Experience developing and debugging complex data structures, algorithms, and network I/O in a Linux environment\n\n* Development experience on a blockchain node client (preferably Ethereum-like) and familiarity with smart contract programming\n\n* Knowledge of blockchain fundamentals such as distributed consensus, peer-to-peer messaging, cryptography primitives\n\n\n\n\nBONUS POINTS\n\n\n* Knowledge of Ethereum protocols and technologies (e.g. devp2p, EVM, Web3, Solidity) and go-ethereum internals in particular\n\n* Ideally 2+ years solid experience with Go programming and some open source contributions that you can highlight\n\n* Knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals such as fault tolerance, consensus, voting, leader election, failure detection\n\n* Experience designing or implementing Proof of Stake and BFT-style consensus algorithms (e.g. Tendermint)\n\n\n\n\nDon't worry if you don't meet all the requirements. If you are talented and have what it takes, then we'd still like to hear from you.\n\nOur compensation isย blockchain competitiveย and dependent on your skills & experience. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Ethereum, Design, Node, Golang, Engineer, Linux and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n

But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol; the p2p communication layer for Web3.\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception. Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe. \nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\n\nStatus Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms. Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and weโ€™ve just kicked off development of our new โ€˜multi-chain from the ground upโ€™ crypto Wallet. รApp browser and blockchain node functionality will follow next. Status desktop is currently built using Nim & QT for the frontend, and it shares a common backend with Status mobile that is written in Go. We are currently in the middle of a large refactor of our architecture. This refactor includes transitioning the QT front end from Nim to C++, moving all business logic to our status-go backend, and upgrading from QT5.14.2 to QT6.2. As we work in the open and are fully open source you can get a better idea of who we are and the work we are doing by browsing our team wiki here and taking a look at our Status Desktop, Status Desktop QML component library and Status Desktop and Mobile Go backend GitHub repos. You can find more information about our desktop effort in this blog post. \n\nThe desktop team is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to help us create a consumer level quality application.
