We are a developer-first company, creating the future of banking information exchange. As a developer with us you’ll be responsible for building our API as a product that unifies financial/utility data feeds which is then consumed by the fintech developer community.\nAlmost all your code is going to be open source, because we firmly believe in giving back to the community, and sharing what we know.\nYou will work on E2E encryption based on the signal protocol. You will be using engineering practices such as Test Automation, Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and DevOps.\nYou will have the option of working remotely with flexible hours, and will participate in monthly team meetups at our London offices. A great way to put a face to the commits!\nHere are some skills that will come in handy:\n- Being a guru when it comes to django + rest framework;\n- Experience writing REST wrappers for legacy projects (SOAP for example);\n- Good at solving problems and knowing how to document those problems in Behave/Celery;\n- Having an understanding of why it’s irresponsible to write an API without consuming it at the same time.\n*HOW TO APPLY*\nIf you cover at least some of the above points, we want to talk with you. And by talk we mean talk, we don’t use Codility or other nonsense tools. Instead our process is simple - let us know that you exist by sending a short email to [email protected] telling us about yourself and attach a résumé.\nPerform this short two to four hour programming task - https://github.com/StudioH67/service_registry - and when you are done please open a pull request to this repo with your solution.\nAfter we will get in touch, and if we still like one another - welcome onboard!\nWe offer generous salary and benefits compared to industry standards, all you have to do is show us how much you are worth!\n\n*ABOUT US*\nWe’re a startup. We’re funded. And we have a client. We’re a group of founders who have built companies together and are committed to building amazing teams. This is our next venture. There is an opportunity for real involvement at all levels, shaping the direction and genuinely building a rocket ship. We guarantee it won’t be boring. \n\nBe sure to mention the words **TRULY HERO REJECT** when applying to show you read the job post completely. This is a beta feature to avoid spam applicants. At 96 Problems the code drives design. This means that things don't start with a "pixel perfect" PSD, but a rough wireframe. \n\nFollowing a first implementation, developer feedback is taken in drafting a final design. \nHi! We’re Action Verb.\n\nWe build two Infrastructure-as-a-Service Platforms that empower organizations worldwide.\n\nOur products include BrickFTP, a hosted file sharing service for business, and Vae Platform, a unique web hosting platform with an integrated CMS system.\n\nOur company consists of 15 (but growing to 19 by the end of the year) full time USA-based staff, as well as sales and support outposts in France, Germany, and Latin America.\n\nOur infrastructure platforms are used by over 2,000 enterprises and SMBs, including Mozilla, Canonical, UPS, DirecTV, GoPro, Marriott, and more.\n\nOur Success Strategy\n\nWe’ve been able to achieve the rare combination of high double-digit annual growth and industry leading profitability.\n\nWe do it by aggressively recruiting the absolute best and brightest people and structuring our company in a way that makes them want to work here forever.\n\nIt’s easy to say, but exceptionally hard to execute. Here’s how we do it.\n\nWe Practice Holacracy\n\nWe are one of the early adopters of Holacracy, a new style of running an organization in a self-organizing manner that draws inspiration from agile software development and lean manufacturing processes.\n\nRather than hiring people for exactly one job description, we instead look to find well rounded team members with skills in software engineering, design, marketing, sales, and our other needs who are interested in filling multiple roles within the organization.\n\nAs a self-organizing team, our people have multiple roles and our role descriptions are regularly updated via small iterations. As their interests change and our needs change, the roles people fill change dynamically over time.\n\n"Most startups believe in iteration of their products. Now they need to apply the same thinking to their organizations."\n– Adam Pisoni, Yammer co-founder & CTO\n\nHolacracy is not unstructured: you’ll have a clear understanding of your current roles and responsibilities, as well as a set of rules and processes for changing those roles and responsibilities in real time.\n\nEven though Holacracy is a lot to learn, we have a great onboarding process and the rest of our team will guide you through your first few months. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend a weeklong official Holacracy training event at our expense.\n\nMORE ABOUT OUR HOLACRACY PRACTICE→\n\nWe also practice Open Book Management, meaning that we share the exact details of our Balance Sheet and P&L Statement with our entire team in real-time, ensuring that our staff has the data they need to treat the business as if it were their own.\n\nMORE ABOUT OPEN BOOK MANAGEMENT→\n\nOur team members work from home and choose their own hours, allowing them to make time for family, recreation, vacations, or anything that is important to them.\n\nEvery full-time team member gets 10 company-wide holidays per year as well as 20 paid time off days intended to be used for vacations. Go have fun. Don’t work all the time.\n\nOur team members also work hard, are constantly learning, and accomplish a ton for the company in the time that they are working.\n\nOur team spends at least 12 days together face-to-face per year at four to six in-person meetings spread out through the year and hosted all over the country. We try to do these meetings in cities that are fun to visit. In the last few years, we’ve been to Austin, Orlando, Minneapolis, San Diego, Las Vegas, New York City, Detroit, and Fort Lauderdale.\n\nDesign Skills We’re Looking For\n\nThis position is designed to appeal to designers who are not afraid to get their hands dirty writing code. You will be working on web applications, mobile apps, desktop apps, marketing websites, and email.\n\nWe are looking for candidates who bring the following skills to the table:\n\n\n* Experience with web application design, marketing website design, and offline (print) design\n\n* Comprehensive understanding of UI/UX principles\n\n* Solid web front-end development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Even though we have a great team to help you integrate your designs with our applications, in order to be a great application designer, we expect that you can implement enough JavaScript to make your designs come to life (even in a basic way).\n\n* Experience and interest in both actual application design and marketing design. We want our designers to be able to work on both sides.\n\n* History designing and supporting actual applications that have seen production usage with a large userbase.\n\n\n\n\nOur best applicants tend to have at least 5 years history of producing marketing websites and web or mobile applications.\n\nWe expect to see an extensive portfolio that includes both static websites and applications.\n\nSome of Our Core Beliefs\n\nWe believe that everyone in the company should have programming skills. We want everyone here to be able to take their ideas and bring them to life. For designers, that means you have to be able to write code. It doesn’t mean you have to be an expert, but you should at least be able to implement intermediate-level jQuery and also work with React.\n\nWe believe that allowing and supporting 100% remote work gives us access to great people we wouldn’t otherwise be able to hire. We tend to hire folks who are later in their careers, which means they usually have their family established somewhere. By offering remote work, we can hire the best people, no matter where they’re located.\n\nWe believe that the best way we can acquire top talent is by being an amazing place to work. Work from home, travel with the team, and surround yourself with top tier people at Action Verb. Read about everything we’ve done to make working at Action Verb great.\n\nWe believe that building great infrastructure and platform products requires a great internal infrastructure. We have Continuous Integration, a full staging environment, and considerable test coverage. We built our own application deployment system. We self-manage our server environment on Amazon Web Services and custom hardware.\n\nWe believe that engineers should support what they build. We expect our teammates to take responsibilty for the engineering decisions they make. If there are performance problems in production, nobody should have to chase anyone down. All engineers participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and all engineers speak to customers.\n\nWe believe in building products that we actually use ourselves. We are our own toughest critics and we put all of our products through their paces every day.\n\nREAD THE REST OF OUR CORE BELIEFS→\n\nSalary and Pay\n\nAs you might expect from a company that is so open, we also post our salary information right here in the job post. We will pay you $100,000 in your first year, plus a great benefits package, and a $2,500 signing bonus to purchase a new computer.\n\nAfter your first year with Action Verb, we will update your salary based on the value that you have been able to demonstrate for the company. We continue to update salary levels every year. It is possible to reach a pay level of double the starting salary if you come in and absolutely crush it.\n\nWe fully pay for your health insurance (exact plan details depend on your state of residence), and we’ll pick up the tab for 50% of your spouse or family if they wish to also join the healthcare plan. We want your family to be healthy.\n\nWe recognize that other companies may offer higher initial salary offers or signing bonuses, but at Action Verb, we know that for our ideal candidate, the exact level of pay is just one criteria by which they choose where to work. Our goal is to offer the greatest work environment possible and pay people well enough to make it possible for them to join the team. Come learn our way of working, take on as many roles as you can, and establish yourself as a valuable asset to us. Then after your first year, we’ll re-evaluate your salary and make sure it’s more than fair, given the value you’ve been able to generate for the company.\n\nPlus, you can join Action Verb Risk Free because of our $7,500 Quitting Bonus Within Your First 90 Days.\n\nWe get it. Holacracy is new. Working remote is hard. We love these things about our culture, but you might not be sure if you do. Or maybe you just don’t trust us that we really do embody the Core Beliefs on this webpage. To our prospects who may be on the fence about joining Action Verb, we want to make one more offer to push you over the edge and convince you to join us.\n\nIf you don’t like working at Action Verb for any reason, quit within the first 90 days and receive a $7,500 quitting bonus. That should be enough to keep you and your family afloat while you decide on your next path. We hope that you won’t take us up on the offer, but we want you to feel good knowing that it’s there.\n\nReady To Apply?\n\nWorking here isn’t for everyone, but if you think it might be for you, please apply.\n\nWe only read cover letters in our first screening round, so make sure yours counts. The following are topics we’d like to see addressed in your cover letter:\n\n\n* Why does this opportunity specifically appeal to you?\n\n* How well do you align with Our Core Beliefs? Is there anything you would add or change?\n\n* Why would working remotely for Action Verb change your life for the better?\n\n* Are you familiar with Holacracy? Any questions or concerns?\n\n* What’s lacking in your current work arrangement that we could improve?\n\n* What are your philosophies on design?\n\n* What does designing great software look like?\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to reading your letter! \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on previous jobs related to SaaS, Design and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $110,000/year\n

\nyou CAN apply for this job if you have your OWN TEAM, or you're an INDIVIDUAL. \n\n\nRemote work is okay, relocation is considered on a case-by-case basis.\n\nWe're hiring TWO to FIVE DEVELOPERS for a 3-6 month contract position.\n\nWe'll be creating the UX for bitcoin casinos which will hopefully stand for years to come and reach an audience of millions around the globe. \n\nWe need sharp minds who are not afraid to dive in for long coding sessions, get their hands dirty experimenting, and design an experience for customers that looks and feels like the future.\n\nWe'll be migrating to TypeScript and rewriting our Angular codebase, as well as re-connecting new game APIs in the front and back end.\n\nWe have selected CREATEJS, to craft our game experiences, with siimpler to reset our CSS and install the standard boilerplate, and we have selected SEMANTIC-UI.com as our front-end framework of choice.\n\n\n\nThe projects we are working on:\n1. New front-end for our customers, to a design spec.\n2. Back office upgrades to spec.\n3. MAHJONG and BACKGAMMON; multiplayer server w/mahjong game logic included. handles disconnects, etc. etc. \n4. 'Gamification', a unified auth provider that tracks achievements, challenges, XP, level-ups, etc. across all games, including 3rd party and poker.\n5. Integration micro-services cluster, takes our current monolith backend NODE APP and busts it up into microservices per-game or per-integration. This includes further integration with the existing providers, they have parts of their API for bonuses and campaigns/promos that we have not accessed yet. Bitcoin Exchange/Shapeshift integration included.\n6. LOTTERY Mobile app and services surrounding ticket tracking and payouts for the two US-based and 1 Europe-based lotteries.\n7. TEAM COLLAB application, communication, email, document collaboration, customer-service training, project and task management, using METEOR as a tool. We will experiment with our waterfall-based workflow, talk about the project timelines in abstract terms, establish terminology, GIT and CI workflow.\n\n\nOpen Positions: if you are ANY or ALL of these people, contact us!\n1. a real designer, someone who knows what looks good, can produce assets for graphics, illustrations etc, and design pages properly, as well as do UX testing later in the dev cycle. Helps with animation planning, storyboards, user visit lifecycle\n2. full-stack developer who writes Angular and Typescript on the front-end and Node/Meteor/TypeScript on the backend. HTML5 animator, who can translate JSON data and game concepts into things like graphs, charts, dice animations, card animations. In addition, he writes all the markup for the site, and all the CSS. So, he's into D3, CreateJS and Canvas, but also knows how to write good form validation and create UIs to spec.\n4. UX Quality Assurance analyst, this person works very closely with the team members to make sure that the customer is well represented throughout the development cycle, and guarantees that code is human-tested and machine-tested. Instances of tournaments cannot be created by players, they are automatically created based on a schedule, such as every day at every hour, half past the hour\n \n \n * every admin-only item can be set with a custom rake, but the default is 1%\n \n \n * Bonus Credit\n* BTC credit which players cannot cash out but can use to play against other players, join tournaments etc. Rake is not collected for any bets placed with bonus money, games played with partially bonus and partially normal money are charged rake based on the amount of money which was considered normal money.\n\n \n * Gamification Layer\n * allow creation of leaderboards based on certain statistics such as amount of bets with time-based payouts to the leaders and tracking/reporting of previous winners with leaderboard snapshots.\n * Level system\n * Player can earn levels based on XP points and challenges completed\n * XP (experience points) and create a level system to allow players to level up. When players level up they are given bonus credit\n * The formula for XP is: (# of uBTC (0.001 BTC == 1 uBTC) won plus # of bits wagered) divided by 2. For tournament entries, 10 % of the number of uBTC won.\n * Players who would gain less than 1 XP point for a particular game/tournament are awarded 0 XP \n * Players can only level up if they reach the required # of XP points AND complete the level challenges ( see below)\n \n \n * Level challenges\n * Each level has 3 quantitative requirements before leveling up. Example: the # of wins, total amount wagered, and etc. \n * Once the player has reached the level challenges, and gained the XP necessary to level up, the leveling up event happens NOT automatically but by user action. The user is notified that they can level up.\n * Leveling up bonus: Upon leveling up, user can select from one of a list of bonuses for their account. The list will be arbitrary and at least 10 items long, and include things like new avatars, BTC bonuses for other parts of the site (eg: bonus money for poker room), or bonus money for use in the backgammon room.\n \n \n \n \n * Leagues:\n* Teams can be created and named by any player, and joined by any other player. This results in a league of teams, and a Match is always running between these teams, which culminates in a monthly payout based on the number of points accrued by teams during 1 month period, beginning on 1st of each month and ending on 11:59:59 of last day of that month.\n * Only Players can win points. The total amount of points from all players in a team = the teams number of points\n * The top 3 teams in a league at the end of the league cycle will receive a prize, similar to the leaderboard prize, the league scoreboard must have a snapshot feature so that previous league results can be displayed.\n * How to win points: the program should allow for arbitrary rules to be declared, based on per-round,per-game and per-tournament statistics such as wins/losses. Customized code should be easily placed.\n \n \n\n \n \n \n * Game Logic\n * Refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backgammon#Setup and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backgammon#Movement for complete instructions on how the gameplay moves in rounds and how the chips are set up.\n* We will use only the main variation of backgammon for the purpose of this project. HOWEVER, additional game variations should be available by simply adding a single file and then referencing that file in a field gameType from the data model, which can be selected upon creation of a game (the default is our gameType which we will create in this project)\n\n \n * Steps to play:\n * The base bet amount is negotiated upon starting the game. \n * At any time, a player can double the bet, and the other player either forfeits the game or accepts the doubling. Each player can do this any number of times, until the amount reaches 64x the original base bet (max bet)\n * The minimum base bet is 100 satoshi. The maximum base bet is 1 BTC. These should be configurable.\n * Any time the amount of the bet is changed, the appropriate amount is deducted from both players accounts.\n * The total pot amount is always shown on the screen, and uses a count-up animation, in which the size of the text and the color of the text for the total pot amount are fluctuating and a sound is played.\n \n \n * Both players roll the dice, the higher number goes first, a tie results in re-rolling.\n* When the dice are rolled (at any time) an animation and sound will be played\n\n \n * The first player rolls the dice and then moves his tokens a certain number of times/pips\n * The number of pips and tokens moved depends on the ruleset defined above.\n * In order to move a chip, user will click on the chip he desires to move, and then the available positions he can move that chip to will HIGHLIGHT. The highlighted area being clicked, the chip will move to that area\n * If the chip selected cannot be moved, a red error highlight shows on selected chip\n * If no moves are available, a pertinent message is shown for 2 seconds, followed by the dice passing to the other player\n \n \n * The white and black players maintain a fixed position on the board where the dice move back and forth between these two positions to indicate whose turn it is to take action. \n * A timer with a circular (green-to-red) pattern moves along with a text (EG: 1:14) to indicate time left to act for each player\n * Eventually the players will begin to bear off or finish the game, and when the game is complete, the scores for that round will be displayed, \n * If this is a 1-round game, credits are given immediately to the winner.\n * however if this is a multi-round game, no credits or debits will be made until the game has ended\n \n \n * Player can resign the game at any time\n \n \n * Payouts\n * Single-round game: rake is deducted and tracked in credit transaction to the winner.\n * Multi-round game: rake is deducted after all rounds were played in a single credit transaction to the winner, with corresponding rake amount also tracked.\n * Tournament: see above, arbitrary admin setting\n \n \n \n \n * Idle and Disconnection handling\n * allow a game from the past to be viewed as if it's being played in real time, and stepped through one game-action at a time.\n * Handling timing of moves during a game. \n* Time-bank: player is allowed 15 seconds, and can act faster than 15 seconds. If acting faster than 15 seconds, the remainder is built up and added to the 15 seconds for each additional action. The maximum time bank is 60 seconds. \n\n \n * handling disconnection of players during game, \n * 60-seconds without an action but still connected is considered a forfeit of the game round, 2 of these in a row forfeits the game.\n * Any disconnection without a reconnection within 60 seconds is considered a forfeit of the game round, 2 minutes disconnected is a forfeit of the game. \n * After reconnecting, the entire clock system starts over.\n \n \n * provide tracking of and allow players to cancel or resume disconnected games from a special popup that occurs if there are any games that have been paused due to disconnection\n \n \n \n \n * Player Profile\n * can be viewed for oneself or any other player who has a public profile\n * View/change avatar\n * View my rating/Rate another player\n * Win/loss record of player\n * Disconnect % ( how many times they disconnect or quit during the game )\n * Report a player ( allows player to be flagged for cheating or inappropriate play with an explanation, which is all forwarded to our support team )\n \n \n * discussion forum using telescopeapp.org will allow players to converse about any subject related to the game.\n * in-game player chat (per-table chat rooms, players can mute players , real-time chat moderation, time-based and permanent bans, admin broadcasts to all rooms), \n * area for game instructions (including game rules, how to play, strategy/tips, lobby instructions, house rules, XP+levels+leaderboards)\n \n\nPROPOSED TEAM MEMBERS FROM YOUR TEAM:\n1. full-stack developer who writes Angular2 and Typescript on the front-end and Meteor/TypeScript on the backend.
